Difficult to Prove No Claims Discount

We had to show proof of our No Claims Discount. This was quite prolonged and tortuous. I would have thought that insurers could easily get that information from each other.

Hi Mark. Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Like other insurance providers, we use the industry database to validate No Claims Discount (NCD). There are times when we are unable to validate it using this database, either because the previous insurer does not subscribe to the database or because the amount of NCD is different. Sometimes the previous insurer does not update the database correctly or the policy may have been in someone else's name. In these situations we need customers to send us proof, which in most cases is the renewal invitation from your previous insurer. I'm sorry we needed to request proof and other info from you, but hope that all will be straightforward for you from now on.

Following the purchase of your policy, our routine checks through the Claims and Underwriting Exchange (CUE) database identified a previously undisclosed claim. This wasn’t declared at the quote stage, so the premium was adjusted to reflect the price you would have been quoted if it had been included in your quote. It is also worth noting that including this claim would have increased all your quotes.

We understand this can be frustrating, but accuracy is essential in insurance pricing to ensure fairness and protect you by ensuring the correct cover is provided . We always encourage customers to double-check their claims history with their previous insurer if they’re unsure before getting a quote.

If you believe that the claim was incorrectly been added to the CUE, we recommend you contact your previous insurance provider ASAP and this may be able to be removed.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss this with us, our customer service team is here to help.

Easy change over

Easy change over, app is useful but how do I let you know about my set up. I have solar panels on my roof, my car runs on petrol ,& has stop/start system in traffic queues.

Thank you so much for leaving your feedback. It's really good to see you engaging with our carbon offsetting and asking these good questions. When you take out your policy, we receive data from the DVLA database all about your car, including the fuel consumption and emissions given the set-up and features on your particular vehicle when it was manufactured. This is then combined with the mileage you drive and how you drive (how fuel efficiently you drive) from our app to calculate your CO2 emissions for each journey. We then offset these emissions for you.

No service unless I pay more than the…

No service unless I pay more than the £1000 I paid for the car insurance which is comprehensive-NOT! No my complaint is that for your company to review alter or amend any aspects of an insurance policy you inform the purchaser that a fee ( for administration) will be required to simply tap a few keys on a keyboard to then adjust the policy which will incur an extra cost for the alteration to the policy.
My argument is that if I've had to lay out £1000 for a car insurance policy you ask for extra payments simply to make alterations to add whatever to the policy this is not withstand the high cost of the policy you have made available. I can remember a time when I'd go to a broker and they gave real service without asking extra fees for small administrative alteration to the policy. This was never a complaint about increase in the policy per say. For your staff to perform very minor administrative action you charge for the privilege. Very poor service indeed.

When you requested an increase in your vehicle’s value, the insurer adjusted the premium to reflect the change in cover, which resulted in a small additional cost. The additional cost reflects the price you would have been quoted if the vehicle value was increased in your quote. Although an admin fee usually applies in these cases, we had already waived it as a gesture of goodwill.
At the time, a member of our team was actively liaising with the insurer to see if the increase could be waived entirely, but the policy was cancelled before we had the chance to confirm. We understand that pricing and policy changes can be frustrating, and we’re sorry we didn’t get the opportunity to fully resolve things for you.

Useless company

Useless company told that I would be charged £38 to change my wifes DOB when rang to cancel policy told it would cost £65 when I said go ahead the phone operative didnt even try to discuss the overcharging

The additional charge was due to the corrected date of birth, which affected the annual premium slightly. However, our team should have investigated this and waived the admin fee, especially once it was clear this was a simple correction. We also recognise that the cancellation process should have been handled with more care and clarity.

I have only just taken out the contract…

I have only just taken out the contract and have not had any other interaction. Therefore cannot give a valid rating. The sign up process was the same as any other insurer and fairly straightforward

So far so good. Never used this insurer before. Competitive price, good excess, like the idea of carbon offsetting and rewards for it. Have downloaded the app which is very informative about my driving!
