Excellent experience! Great time keeping and subject knowledge, exactly what my son needs. We are very happy with the tutoring and we are looking forward to the lessons to come.
Extremely frustrating as a tutor
Extremely frustrating as a tutor. The website takes an incredible percentage of a tutor's fee. Also, they use an algorithm to rank the tutors and it's based on the amount of students. If the tutor has few students they automatically hide the tutor's profile!!

BEST TUTORING SITE EVER- QUALIFIED TEACHER'S REVIEW
As a qualified teacher, this company is outstandingly impressive when it comes to looking for a second income, you work according to how you want and it is very flexible. The layout of the site is easy and accessible; people can see your reviews and students are able to see your calendar and your availability. It also has a good scheduling system, they send out emails to remind you of your lessons and when you are paid, they enlist all the hours you have done. A tutor's profile is also recognised for their qualification and hours they do, this builds credibility for teachers and a way of finding more clients.
I am personally happy with the 300 hours I have done, I have found a second income which is brilliantly fantastic and Tutorfair have the best service. Their kind, professional and very empathetic and quick to respond.
Horrible service for tutors!
Horrible service for tutors!
High comissions!
They are NOT transparent on these commisions for students...
(The students don't know about these tutor commisions) until they book a session with you and we need to explain students that our "high rate" is because we pay "a lot of commision".
So, they sell themselves as a "charity" but it is totally a hidden business!
So, they hide the tutor commision to the clients and also the aim of their business!
My tutor account have been closed because some students were not happy to pay my rates (because the high commision included on it) and Tutorfair agents told me that they were not receiving any benefit from me....so they were blaming to me about it!
Students, pls, don't book sessions with them...they are liers and unrespectful people...

They are awful
They are awful. They do not care about their tutors. They call themselves a charity but they are a money making machine disguised as a charity.

Terrible
Terrible. They do not get back to me quickly as a parent and my childs education is important when I ask questions to them. They are second rate compared to other companies out there

This is by far the best tutoring platform in the UK, both for tutors and students. Very efficient and user friendly website. Its per lesson charity donation removes all the stigma that exists around the tutoring industry. I have picked up so many good clients from the site and have also recommended them to new clients i am not able to help. 100% of the time the feedback has been that the parent has found an outstanding tutor they are happy with.
I would like to leave a review about…Caroline jarman

I would recommend!
Great tutoring resource
As a tutor I always had an excellent customer support by Hannah and have had a good number of students. Highly resourceful site for quality education.

I received a lot of great work!
Tutorfair is the first company that I tutored with and my experience as an early tutor was very positive. I was able to set my own hourly rate and contact clients who were requesting tuition assistance.
As my profile grew with reviews and ratings, clients started contacting me to the point where I had to hide my profile as I did not have enough time to tutor everyone. Computer Science is a heavily sought after skill and I heavily recommend Tutorfair to my friends and family.
Best tutoring company I've worked with!
I've used Tutorfair for over 3 years now and have tutored some amazing students in the UK, Switzerland and Dubai. The consistency and support provided by the company is beyond comparison. For professional tutors seeking a transparent way of working, Tutorfair is the right place to develop and grow as a tutor.
DO NOT USE TUTORFAIR
Awful company, rude staff who do not respond, and worst of all every single tutor is 25% more expensive than anywhere else.
DO NOT USE TUTORFAIR!

Beware!! Tutorfair take a very high commission from you to be a tutor on their site.
I have been with Tutorfair for around 6-8 mths as a tutor. It is a site that seems ok, but there are a few issues.
- Their commission rate is EXTREMELY HIGH!! I charge £37pr hr & was shocked to only receive £23 of this!! Which means Tutorfair take £14 in commission!! Although this is supposed to go down after 100+ lessons there isn't enough job opportunities & traffic going through the site to pick up potential tutees. I'm currently working at a loss at the moment, which is not good. But the client/student I've picked up via this site is lovely, so I've no issues with that.

I can't imagine what a wonderful company that Tutorfair is !!
I'm from China and I'm looking for some tutors for my boss's daughter, and people in Tutorfair have helped me a lot!! And I'd like to take this opportunity to express my highest gratitude to Dear Mariota, who has been helping me from the very beginning till now! I can't thank her any more! I have found some of the best tutors from Tutorfair. Thanks a lot. I love you, Mariota, I love you Tutorfair!

As a tutor this is an excellent site to use. Instant and efficient replies from the main office and regular weekly payment. Ads to see for tutors which are clear. All the parents/students through this site were genuinely interested in finding a decent tutor and aware of the costs. Good system that the student pays in advance so last minute cancellation means you still get paid and haven't lost out. Highly recommended.
Prepare to be spammed - every day no matter how much you demand they remove you from their list and leave you alone
I received some email from another site about receiving some free ebook from this tutor company. I signed up for the book which proved useless to me but from that moment on, it was all downhill. EVERY SINGLE day without fail, I am now being spammed by Tutorfair.. Sometimes twice a day. I have emailed them three or four times to urge them to stop doing so. They say it is not illegal - so they will more or less continue to do this to me. They told me to sign into their account and unsubscribe myself. When I go to sign in, their website does not recognise my email address even though they keep spamming this same email address.
Trying to get them to resolve this is like trying to get blood from a stone. I find this practice extremely unethical and somewhat desperate.
Do they really think that I would ever lose the key to my brain to want to use their company now? This is a caution to all potential customers contemplating signing up for information on this company. DO NOT DO SO unless you are 100% sure you want to use their services as they will spam you endlessly - day and night AND EVERY DAY. They are evidently very desperate for business which is why they are doing this but it has turned me off of them completely. I cannot recommend a company that has so little respect for peoples' personal space.
great experience finding a tutor here
We met a number of great tutors on tutorfair, tried a few, and found the perfect one who has been a great role model for my daughter as well as to providing structure and referring materials for home study to steer us through the exams. My daughter definitely needed the extra confidence (as did I, not having done this before). Our school has not been stellar so I like to think my daughter at least has the best chance now.
Booking logistics are easy. (Half the time I'm doing it on the phone, waiting for the tube so the website is quite convenient).
Excellent Eleven-Plus Training Day
I found this extremely useful. The information we were delivered was top notch, but just as important was an amazing opportunity for exchange made possible by getting so many highly-experienced tutors together in one room. Tutoring can be a profession with few networking opportunities and I am happy to say that this day was an important exception. While I won’t give away too much of the inside information we shared with one another, everyone left knowing at least one important tip or technique they hadn’t done at the start of the day. I really benefitted, and more to the point, so have my pupils.
