I visited the Chelmsford store today…
I visited the Chelmsford store today and the incredibly knowledgeable & helpful staff made my experience a real window into a hobby I've always wanted to start.
Jason helped me find some great boots for myself and my fiance so we can start hiking, as well as that Jez provided some great recommendations for cooking equipment and utensils.
All in I had a great time, made some purchases that I'm really pleased with and laying out my haul at home and getting hands on with the gear I've bought has me feeling very excited for my first adventure!
I'll definitely be back to expand my array of gear in due time as well as the great experience and knowledge of the staff, can absolutely recommend you head down and visit if you're evenly remotely curious about outdoorsy activities!

Really helpful staff
Really helpful staff. Jason helped me out everything together for DofE for my children and put it to one side so I could pop back after school with them and try everything on. All the staff were great and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.

Jeremy went out of his way to help our daughter find the right rucksack for DofE. Her old rucksack (purchased online from a different store) was the wrong fit and Jeremy tried to adjust it for us but our daughter's back was still hurting. So we asked for a new one. Jeremy chose the perfect one and spent time fitting it perfectly for our daughter. Our daughter is very happy with her new rucksack and no longer in pain.
Thank you Jeremy for your professionalism, kind manner, invaluable advice and patience - very important when dealing with teenagers.
We will certainly never buy online again. Thanks again.

Discount for scout group.
Served by Jason, very helpful and when I mentioned that the equipment was for the local scout group he let me know there was a discount available i was not aware of.
