don't know how i even got on their website.tried to tax my car and thought i had done so but hadn't.noticed a payment for £7.85 on my bank account which i knew i hadn't made.they take 50p from you as a subsription fee then charge £7.85 a month to tell you when your car is due to be taxed again.i didn't sign up to anything and received no emails from them .they seem to have been operating for years with no comeback against them at all.i consider myself pretty savvy about scams but still i was scammed .hopefully they will be closed down, but not holding my breath

Vehicleinquiry.uk is a scam

Ok, so as everyone else had said, this is a scam, you find it when you type tax my vehicle on gov.uk and it asks for a reg. When you put in the reg it brings up your vehicle and you think you are paying for a tax disc. You dont realise you have not until the final reminder comes in the post from the DVLA, then you find all you have signed for is membership of a reminder system.
The website is vehicleinquiry.uk and it is the trading name of Vehicle Reminder Tech Ltd run by a Declan Paul Ashworth.
Do not click the link when you enquire. The website says you can cancel but it requires another link to get to the cancel page.

REPORT this company here

REPORT this company to : Nationa Cyber Security Centre (NCSC - gov website) or Action Fraud (police website) - tried to paste links but links not allowed in reviews - both are easy to find

It takes minutes.

They are literally masquerading as the UK Government (branding, messages and all) and scamming people into giving away personal data and payment card details then systematically robbing them every month under the guise of a subscription.

The most awful scam

I am the same unfortunately and count myself as tech savvy. I thought i had landed on the Gov site and was keen to get some vehicle info. This scam is unreal 12 months later . they are still taking £7.85. I may have to cancel my bank account at this rate. Do

I wouldn't give this outfit a 1 star…

I wouldn't give this outfit a 1 star rating if I could. Scam company, really don't understand why trading standards allow them to get away with it. Went onto gov website and thought it was a helpful company, now they take money out of my account every month when I've asked them not to do so. Have called but no answer, have emailed but no answers. CRIMINALS.

Scam

Scam! Just realised this fraud of a company have been taking payments of £7.85 my account for more than 5 months!! I've used this service to tax my car. I want a refund, but cannot get hold of anyone. I want my money back immediately.. Today I found it, we can cancel membership. I did it and wait to see the next month and check my account again.

I feel very silly

I feel very silly. I got a Vehicle Tax reminder in mid Dec 22 and thought I'd paid it. In Feb, I got a penalty notice from DVLA saying my vehicle was still untaxed. So I paid the £97 fine and taxed the vehicle thinking it was my mistake.
Having looked at a suspicious entry on my statement, I worked out that vehicleenquiry.uk had taken 0.50p on 11/12 and £7.85 the following day and thereafter on the 12th of every month to May, (except March bizarrely!).
I hv just spoken to my card provider and they will refund all payments.
But I am annoyed at DVLA who have benefitted from my misfortune and yet, given comments here, must be aware of this scam. DVLA could issue warning notices on Vehicle Tax reminders and penalty notices.
I hv tried to recreate what I did in 11th Dec to renew my vehicle tax but cannot do so as all the site options look official.
Double check everything - don't leave it to relying upon your ability to suss out a dodgy email/website.
Hard to understand what exactly tricked me to visit the wring website.

This happened to me yesterday 11th…

This happened to me yesterday 11th April 2023. I rang my bank and then got put through to the fraud squad, but they said the payment will go out for this month, I asked could this not be stopped as these fraudsters are getting away with this, for so many people each month.
They take the payment, when you pay your car tax, then the following month it pops up taking another payment the following month. please check your pending on your bank account that's how I noticed this was happening to me. (they also take 50p + the fee of £6.75) this can happen each month if you do not get it stopped quickly.
