Expect zero communication if your car gets damaged…

I left my 4 month old car at the parking facility and collected it at 3am.

Obviously, at this time it was dark so I didn’t notice any damage to the car, but after driving it a short distance, about a mile or so, I noticed that the tracking seemed out as it didn’t feel sure footed, and the steering wheel seemed out of alignment.
I pulled over, and looked for damage to the wheels, but could see none. I looked underneath with a torch, and could see no scratches or scuff marks so carried on with the journey.
On the way home, we had to drive slow as it felt unsafe, changing direction slightly with every bump, and with some strange creaks and twangs from underneath at times.
I went home to bed, and at 12:30 I took it to Kwik fit for them to check the tracking. They looked underneath and pointed out that the tracking arm was too damaged for them to work on, and that there was also damage to the suspension, damper and steering that needed further work. They pointed out a scuff to the front bumper which was ill fitting, and said that it looked as if it, and the wheel, had been hit when parked with the wheels not facing forward. Due to the impact being to the wheel, the body damage was hard to see, but after a day or two, you could see that the windscreen, bumper and lights were ill fitting. They advised me that this would be a job to be done at a crash repair centre, rather than themselves and suggested I ought to do this via insurance as there was a lot of work needed, which was likely to be costly. They pointed out that even the windscreen surround is dislodged from the impact and advised that it needs to be checked that the chassis is not out of alignment!

On the way home from Kwik Fit I contacted airport parking for advice, and was asked to email the manager, which I did. No reply, so I called 7 times before finally speaking to the manager, who asked me to send the email to their other email address so that he could discuss it with the owner, which I did, also asking if there is CCTV, so that my insurance company can claim from the car that hit me. No reply.
So, I’m left having paid £77 for parking, £425 insurance excess - I wish I’d paid the £360 taxi fare now!

AVOID

We parked with these scumbags for 2 weeks while on holiday. On arrival they where perfectly pleasant..
HOWEVER, when we came to pick our car up they where incredibly rude to us, swearing at customers and staff etc.. My car, which was previously clean inside and out, was filthy on the outside, had a couple of new scratches on the rear, and on the inside there was a heavy coating of mud in both front footwells, AND there where McDonalds wrappers in the passenger footwell as well as a couple of cigarette butts (we don't smoke). Not only this but the inside of the car had clearly been searched, everything had been moved and my parking change was missing. The vehicle had been driven over 13 miles while with airport tavern, all the seats and mirrors had been adjusted, and the tracking had been knocked out of place.
Another thing was the minibus driver who came to collect us from the airport told us that 2 of us had to sit on the floor of the bus as there wasn't space for everyone and he didn't want to make another trip before lunch.
We challenged them on the dirt and searching of the car on the way out but they rudely told us that they where too busy, denied everything, and told us that we just had to leave and send an email if we really cared. We did this and the response was that we should have queried it on collection of the car and that they wouldn't do anything further.
Appalling service, don't trust these people with your car if you care about it even a little bit.

Fawlty Towers Airport Parking.

I wish I had seen the reviews before I booked this company.
On arrival at the car park, there is nobody to direct you to a parking area - when I asked one of the minibus drivers, he said "anywhere over there mate" waving his arm towards Bristol!
The check-in reception is a DIY effort constructed from bits of timber and perspex, with about six seats inside - but these seats have about a decades worth of dirty dust covering them. There is some space in there for standing - maybe four or five people could fit in, but that's all, so if it's raining, you're going to get wet while you wait (and wait, and wait), to get checked in.
The carpark itself is made up of limestone gravel and dust, and is very uneven - making it very difficult to move heavy suitcases on wheels around. When we arrived, it was dry and dusty, when we came back two weeks later, it was wet and muddy. The minibuses used for transferring passengers are old, dirty, and one had a faulty headlight which meant that in the eyes of the law, it was unroadworthy.
The driver was unhelpful when it came to loading the luggage onto the minibus, he just stood and watched with a cigarette in his hand. On return, I was instructed to call the number on the booking receipt as soon as we got through customs, and we would be told where to wait for the pickup. I rang many times, but never got an answer. Eventually, after letting it ring for about four or five minutes, it was answered with an impatient "HELLO!" I was told to look out for the minibuses, and get on when it stopped. We saw one stop about fifty yards away from us, but it had left by the time we got over to it. About ten minutes later, and we saw another one coming, but that one stopped before it got to us, so we missed that one too! Eventually, about five minutes later, another one turned up - a battered VW Transporter with a faulty headlight. The inside looked like it had been used for transporting tradesmen around a building site! Anyway, as it was raining, and we were tired and just wanted to get home (we had landed about 90 minutes ago by this time). So with everyone on board, we set off, got to the airport carpark barrier.....and the drivers swipe card didn't work! It took twenty minutes to get that sorted, with the driver having to pay out of his own pocket to finally get the airport staff to let us out. Anyway, there was a long wait for my key when we got back, I had to wander around the carpark trying to find my car, and it was dirty (covered in dust), when I found it etc, etc. We usually use Birmingham Airport, and the various airport parking company's in the area as it is closer, but decided on Bristol because the flight times were more suitable. Never again though, we'll stick with Birmingham and professional parking facilities in future.

Sadly do not recommend

From the websie info I did not realise that I had booked this place! Very confusing. I did not want a shuttle, I thought I had booked parking at the airport. The staff were pleasant but under stress. The place was very dusty. We were lucky to get to the airport on time for the flight going by what we heard- long queues for booking in and the shuttle bus, mainly short of staff. The owner seems to have lost interest and not take adequate responsibility for his customers needs. We waited 40 mins to be picked up from the airport on the way home from 2.15am. Sadly do NOT recommend.

Drivers / staff rude and…

Drivers / staff rude and disrespectful…after 5hr flight told my 75yr old dad he should stand up on a cramped bus to save him doing a return trip… my dad had just got out of hospital abroad, when I very politely declined he lost his temper, swore and slammed the door, just missing my face… it was midnight, raining, I had my 2 children and my parents with me, I didn’t know if he was going to return. He did. He was once again very rude.
Other issues - car park is muddy / has a poor surface, and the buses are filthy (do not wear your best clothes!).
We were not the only ones who experienced their wrath… we witnessed on the outbound and inbound trip several members of staff being rude to many, for no reason it appeared other than they just didn’t care.
I would never use this company again, the very slight reduction in price is honestly not worth it.

To airport tavern parking,

To airport tavern parking,

I’m writing to complain about the experience we’ve just received by one of your drivers.

From the initial pickup, the chap was rude, obnoxious and showed very little sense of customer facing ability whatsoever.

A few people couldn’t get on the bus because of a lack of seats, and the way he delivered the news to them lacked complete empathy as he delivered the news whilst driving off..

We then got stuck at the car park exit because the company card was rejected and the driver said we will be sat here a long time until it’s sorted… this forced a passenger to pay the charge and then get reimbursed. No issues with this on the whole, but the way the driver dealt with it was unprofessional to say the least. He then went on to say that if you purchase budget parking, what do you expect ! He wasn’t even joking, which was again unprofessional / totally inappropriate. My expectations were now at an all time low, only to have to suffer listening to him go on about the money the airport makes in car parking charges each week. Again, unprofessional and grumpy. I would rather not have to listen to someone’s cynical outlook on life after a great holiday.

To then hear him say that the airport pick up is a courtesy service and most people don’t realise this so they shouldn’t expect it to be good/ on time/ part of the service.. what the hell did I pay for then? A parking space in a dusty car park and I should be thankful for the minibus transfer and driver that comes with it? I would rather have walked than listen to this angry individual and have to experience a crap transfer.

Finally, on arrival the driver disappeared, leaving passengers to open the rear doors to get their bags out (I doubt this costs anything to do)

I then discovered that my car was blocked in. This wouldn’t have been a massive issue, but again the guys attitude was terrible. Asking me in an aggressive way what the other cars number plate was. I hadn’t noted it and was expected to go and find out myself despite saying it was a Volvo SUV.

I was then told the owner was supposed to collect it an hour previously and hadn’t turned up. Not my problem, but again, totally fine had it not been for the guys general behaviour and aggression.

I desperately don’t want this to be the lasting memory at the end of my holiday, but it’s going to be hard to forget this experience. I have had to seriously resist putting this feedback online too. Why on earth would I use Airport Tavern again.

I trust this feedback is useful as no one should have to suffer this at the end of their holiday.
If your driver doesn’t like his job, perhaps he should consider something else or keep his opinion's to himself.

My kids even recognised that the service wasn’t great which is saying something as they are only 8 and 11.

Regards

Airport tavern Poor customer service

The price is competitive but the service and attitude to paying customers is very poor. We were treated with contempt and disinterest.

On arrival at 3am there were multiple people waiting in the gravel car park, dragging wheeled cases over a dusty car park. I dread to think what it would be like in the rain. The bags struggled to roll on their uneven surface. The first minibus was full so it had to shuttle into the airport and back to pick us up. You load your heavy suitcase without assistance. It's whoever gets to the minibus door first that gets a place.

On our return, the first minibus was full at @ 1pm. The second one filled and left us again. The driver said it was first come first served to get on the next bus, with no queuing process and he had no concern about how long we would wait. ''It's been the same for 25 years and works'' was his reply. No sense of appeasement or advice was given. When the 3rd bus arrived, with the same driver as there was only one bus, it was a scramble to ensure we got onto it. He did not show any concern about us potentially missing this one too, and a further 15 minute delay. Needless to say there were people that failed to get this bus.

Book elsewhere with a company that treats you as a customer who has paid for a service, not a cash cow to fund a poor customer facing service.

Awful, shambolic and rude

Awful. When we dropped the car off at 2.30am it wasn’t too bad - a bit rough around the edges, but we convinced ourselves it would be ok. Arriving back in the uk, we could have walked back to the car park quicker. When the mini bus arrived there were so many people waiting, it was over capacity, with two people in the back having to crouch/share edge of seats. Our car was filthy, and blocked in by two other cars. The person I spoke to was rude and aggressive, really put out that I asked for them to be moved. Swearing and then not actually bothering to move the cars. Second member of staff was more amenable. It is a shambles and absolutely not worth the savings - we wouldn’t use them again if it was offered as a free service.

Absolute shambles from start to finish

Absolute shambles from start to finish. Checking in was hard work I’m glad I did it the night before I traveled or I probably would have missed my flight. It was chaotic, there was one person at the desk clearly no idea of the system and a queue of people around the block waiting. The system is by the way a plastic bag that your key goes in with your name and reg number that then gets put in a box.
The transfer to the airport wasn’t much better, they keep you hanging about until they cram the mini bus full. We gave it an extra 20 minutes to be safe and still got to the airport late. I’m guessing this is because they have started charging £5 at the airport drop off point. The prIces have been increased to cover this so there’s no reason to hang about but of course it’s all about profit not customer care.
The mini bus itself is a death trap, broken seat belts, loose seats and most worrying of all every time we went around a corner a gap appears in the side door and the internal lights came on. I half expected it to come off. There was no assistance from the driver with peoples cases, not a problem for me but there were people really struggling who we had to help get their cases on and off.
Our return was the worst part of the whole experience. We were told to ring when we got out of the airport to arrange pick up. We had to ring several times before someone answered and we were told to stand outside and wait 5-10 minutes for a bus. We stood outside for 35 minutes before it got there. It was absolutely packed I couldn’t believe how many people got off it. They must have been waiting a while because several got out and ran to the airport presumably late for their flight.
Back at the car park it was the same scene of chaos nobody seemed to have any idea what was going on, there was a man there with a very aggressive manner trying to intimidate anyone who questioned what he was doing. There were people trying to collect keys at the same time as people checking in and he didn’t have a clue how to deal with it. When eventually we got our keys two of the cars were parked at the back of a row of cars packed so tightly we couldn’t get them out. It took another hour and a pile of abuse from the staff to get them moved.
The car was in a terrible state when I picked it up the interior was full of mud, I’m guessing they put them in a field then tramp through it with muddy boots on. The car had clearly been searched, the middle consul door was damaged and my emergency parking change was missing?
All in all a dreadful experience, I’ve parked here before and it was ok but I’ll never park here again.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. Returned from Spain. Picked up from airport to tavern car park. The man in charge asked up for parking receipt. I said we paid when we dropped car off. He said where's your receipt. I said I have not got it. As far as I know every car that is dropped off always pay at that time. He was so rude .I refused to pay knowing I already paid. On getting my car I noticed car had about 20 more miles on the clock. The driver side carpet all muddy. The car park is nothing to do with the pub. We had lovey meal and julie the bar lady really looked after us.

Don't EVER park your car here

Don't EVER park your car here. They'll check every single compartment and take all valuable things. They have just stolen my iPhone 12 and a pound this weekend (ridiculous right? The pound for my shopping trolley), both were hidden away and they have taken the time to search, find them and leave everything back as if nothing happened. They know what time you arrive and therefore how likely it is for you to check (arriving at 10pm? You're tired and only one worker) They'll take no liability (you sign a contract). ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PARK HERE.

On top of the above disgrace, they moved all the electric seats, they left a window slightly open and they left the car muddy inside.

Will never use again. Appalling company.

Will never use again. Really rude and unhelpful and zero customer care. Worth paying extra with other local firms - and there are plenty! Upon return from holiday I phoned the landline number we'd been given 8 times before I eventually got someone to answer. Despite knowing our flight details and having paid for transfer from Bristol airport to their car park we were left standing at the airport for almost 30 mins in the cold. The driver of the minibus was surly and stood and watched as women struggled to lift their cases up onto the high back of the vehicle (another traveller helped us!). When back at the car park we were told where our car supposed to be (at the back on the left) and then walked around for 10 mins before spotting it on the way back to the entrance in a completely different location. Two other families found that their cars were blocked in by other vehicles, went back to the 'office' to get assistance and were told to go all the way back again to get the registration numbers of the cars blocking them in so he could find the keys. Absolutely appalling service.

Have used before without issue and the drop off and collection went smoothly - however on picking my car up and driving home i have found damage to the under carriage of my car resulting in several hundred pounds of repairs - probably due to fact that the car park is completely unpaved and looks like someone has really hit a pothole - think it will be better off paying for onsite parking in future

AVOID

When all goes smoothly with travel it works out OK. But as soon as travel goes wrong the system they have falls flat on its face as to retrieve a vehicle early due to cancelled or foreshortened travel plans is almost impossible. They take the vehicles and park them somewhere else and in order to maximise their profits they pack them in in the order they are due to be removed according to booked travel. Each car is blocked behind loads of other vehicles and their office is full of boxes and bags full of car keys. When a storm wrecked our plans they were in absolute chaos and drip-feeding us incorrect information and promises they couldn’t keep due to their own utter disorganisation about when we’d get our car back. Worse though they started to get more and more unpleasant with us and ended up slamming a customer window shut in our face. Because they wouldn't or couldn't release our car back to us, we ended up ordering an Uber to take us home (a 45 minute journey) and returned the next day to pick up our car. It was my wife's birthday, and everything went wrong that day, but the parking disaster was another level entirely of horribleness that we just didn't need. For the sake of balance, we did receive an apology the next day from the boss who happened to be behind the counter. But for us, this was too late I'm afraid and no refund was offered, even on the days we hadn't used following the cancellation of our travel. We'd been very badly treated the night before by the people on duty. Everyone has situations that go wrong but you NEVER take it out on customers and you do all you can to put the problem right or offer your customers a free drink in the attached pub while you are sorting their problem out. Instead, the people staffing this place turned more and more into a bunch of gangsters. We’ve used them a couple of times in the past and been lucky: our experience was OK. But I truly would never use them again and certainly never recommend them.

Cheap, but not cheerful

Pick up fine but arrived back at the Tavern to pick up car and the car was parked ‘around the back’. I had to walk through sloppy mud in white trainers and try to find the car, which was stuck behind other cars. Eventually the other cars were moved. Then the pick up bus was blocking my exit. Eventually the driver moved it. Not worth the money. Will definitely not use them again 😔

absolutely shocking service

absolutely shocking service. Arrived back in UK at 10pm 2nd October 2021. Called as instructed before we left the terminal to request our pick up. Left waiting in the cold for 20 minutes then another 10 minutes in the minibus while we waited for other passengers which we found out were on a different flight. Got to the carpark and given my keys and told to "look" for my car at the bottom of the site, which is now in pitch darkness, and was then told to be careful with the mud as my car may get stuck as I drive it out! 20 minutes looking for my car (along with the other passengers on the minibus looking for their car) then found it totally BLOCKED IN. By this time I was covered in mud, tired, fed up and totally disgusted with the lack of service. The car could have at least been brought into a more well lit area of the site, out of the mud and should have definitely been ready for collection without having to ask for other cars to be moved before I could get access to mine. I have never received such poor service or lack of care; what exactly was the £80 fee for??????

Arrived late at night. Two days early due to flight cancellations. Duly advised them and even though I was only passenger well after midnight there was Nick. He defrosted my car and warmed it up, it was freezing. I could not have asked for more. Keep it up chaps. Have used this service for about ten years. Thank you Nick. Happy New Year to you all.
