So APJ were engaged to try to recover my pension fund which was transferred to STM Fidecs in Gibraltar in 2014. They only got involved in about mid 2021 (this saga is very long winded!). They are a professional company, but I think they were desperate for business at the time. I say this because it was alleged by another party, and although they did manage to recover some money from STM (approximately 50%) they basically rolled over on their backs when STM refused their counter-offer, as if afraid they would end up with no settlement at all. On top of this their fees were an eye watering 40% plus VAT as well as £5600 for After The Event insurance which they strongly advised me to take out. The upshot of this was that I ended up with roughly 12% of my lost pension and APJ actually received more than I did. Seems very unfair. On a more positive note, they did all the legwork in getting a maximum compensation payment from FSCS, although again they charged 30% plus vat. Because of this I cannot recommend APJ as I consider their fees to be on the greedy side. I have ended up with about half of what I was scammed out of.

Please take into account that after 30% fees plus 20%vat, ate insurance of £5600 and sundries you are left with a fraction of the compensation awarded.
It was a very long process with very little gain and leaves a bad taste in your mouth!

I originally instructed APJ on 18/08/2020 regarding my concerns about Hargreaves Lansdown not advising me in time about the Woodford funds collapse to enable me to remove and transfer my funds so to minimize my losses which HL refused to do. I sent an internal email to HL as APJ were not addressing what I had requested them to do, but had gone down the miss selling route from my previous investors which was certainly not what my claim was about.
It was not until both myself and the FOS sent correspondence to HL did my case get back on track and confirm this was just about my Woodfunds and nothing to do with miss selling as APJ had originally claimed.
I was also advised by APJ to take out an after the evnt insurance costing me out of my compensation over £2k which was never needed and APJ would not refund this amount. They also insisted that the compensation eventually agreed with HL was sent direct to them so they could take all their fees and other costs before paying what was left to myself with was only just over 50%. This was despite HL advising that the compensation should be paid direct to myself in one of my existing HL accounts.
The invoice that they submitted to myself was not of the quality you would expect and I had to question each line item what each cost was actually for.

I was contacted by APJ to transfer my claim for Mis-sold SIPP to APJ and the matter would be resolved in 12 to 15 weeks! However, six years on I was advised that in view of the fact that one piece of paper was missing, others had been fully paid out and I was sure to be fully paid out. Two weeks later I was paid £2700 less 30% plus VAT! I am over £30K out of pocket and now I am being completely ignored. I shall be reporting the organisation to the FSCS as each time I received correspondence from FSCS it was to ask if my claim was active as APJ had not been active in arranging a claim!

Had spent time explaining my complaint to APJ but still had to correct a draft which was to be sent to the Ombudsman. I still don't think they got it right as the Ombudsman phoned me for clarification. I clearly and concisely explained my complaint to him but even so his decision still said he was confused-maybe the horses mouth wasn't good enough. I am then told I could appeal the decision but next day was told I couldn't. Gave up in the end as I didn't think competent people were forceful enough or could put pen to paper explaining my complaint. Wouldn't use them again if I needed to

APJ obtained a significant 'refund' of my mis-sold SIPPS investment. There is still a larger proportion outstanding which they are continuing to work on. It's not easy because numerous companies were created and dissolved in order to hide behind. I'd be surprised if APJ can get any further, but they haven't given up.

These guys are trying their best in my quest. Lots of red tape and the ombudsman to get past. They are trying all avenues to help me. The only point I can say against them is that they don't keep me up to date as regular as I would like but then again, I can imagine how busy they are. Overall, at the moment I am happy with what they are doing and trying to achieve on my behalf.

APJ have worked tirelessly on my behalf to achive a successful claim , but at no time have they indicated that this will be the case . On no occasion have they shown any negativity regarding my case . I would advise anyone who wants APJ to pursue any type of claim , to take out an after event insurance policy to cover legal costs should it go to court . I believe this is not payable if a claim is not successful and not challenged in court You would only pay the insurance premium if it actually goes to court , even if the case is lost . Its relatively inexpensive to do so , my advice is to take it out and not risk it going to court then presented with costs in the event you lose the claim . Dont expect a quick conclusion , claims can take a long time but assure you APJ will have your best interest at heart

I was conned and missold 2 unregulated sipp pension investments back in April 2011, worth £75,000. Both failed a few years later. Sipp Company did not want anything to do with it and denied any wrong doing. This was the case for the next few years. APJ took on my case and got me my lost investment money back in May 2021 from FSCS. They were very approachable and always kept me informed of the status of my claim throughout the long period. If it wasn't for APJ and their professional approach and experience in missold investments I wouldn't have received any money back. I would strongly recommend them and am forever
in their debt.

I had been one of the victims of pension scams.I took a policy out in 2010 with Avacade,Liberty SIPPS.I "invested" my two pensions, one from Nat West, and the other from Barclays.A total of £51,000.00.Avacade stole my money, they went into liquidation and the Directors disappeared with countless millions. For nearly 3 years I tried to get my money back I was heartbroken. Then a friend put me on to AJP Solicitors after reams of paperwork and nearly two years they got it all back!I had been with another Solicitors before AJP,but they gave up and told me that the money had gone and there was nothing they could do.
I owe my sanity to AJP, they have been brilliant, they are now chasing after the interest that I have lost from the investment. I cannot fault them, they never gave up.

They keep me in the loop with everything that involves me with the case that I'm involved in. I didn't realise how long things actually take in their line of work, so when I don't hear from them for a while and phone them, they are only too pleased to explain what's going on and explain the process that they have to go through.

Excellent service from start to finish They kept me up to date what was going on These are the only law firm to use if mis-sold Sipp Pension's at 1st i was feeling i'll give them ago as Other's promised the same but APJ Delivered yes it's a lengthy process But Stick with them to come through They are now fighting another part of the claim which they feel i'm entitled to So i've gladly given them the go ahead
