Picked up my bike the next day after I paid for it. Friendly team at the shop. I've got a slow lick somewhere in my rear tire, gave them a call and they are more than happy for me to drop it off on Friday to be checked out. I've also got two months check up from the date I bought my bike. Deffo 5 stars for these guys.

I bought a new bike from Balfe's: very happy…
I bought a new bike from Balfe's in Streatham and was very happy with the purchase. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. I bought it through the Govt bike to work scheme and because of that there was a slight delay in picking the bike up, but Balfe's keep me updated with the progress throughout the process.

Great service
Great service. Gear service and front brake change means it rides wonderfully again.
‘New brake’ wasn’t new.
‘New brake’ wasn’t new.
I bought a ‘new’ hydraulic brake for my bike. When I opened it it had scratches, brake pads and had some fluid on the pads. It looked as though it was a return. Quite unimpressed considering I paid for a new one only to get one that had been trialed and used by someone else previous.

Getting brakes fixed
Mixed up the days I was booked in to have by bike repairs (Tuesday they claimed it was Friday). When the job was done nobody phoned me (supposed to be Saturday) and I had to chase after the shop 48 hours later on the Monday.

The Streatham team were very accommodating and offered good advice and service on extras. They arranged to get the bike in to inspect (ex demo) and hold whilst I sorted out Cycle to Work.
No one ever answers the phone.
No one ever answers the phone.
My experience with Balfe's Streatham has gone from bad to worse, last year I took my bike in to get a flat on the front fixed in September, I had forgotten to bring in the pitlock key, and said I had this at home, they took the bike and was told I would be called to bring it in, they subsequently didn't call me and broke off the deadlock to my dismay.
They reordered the pitlock, telling me they would have this by next week, this didn't arrive for several months, as a keen cyclist I wasn't able to leave this bike across London due to worry of the front now free release lock being released and the wheel taken. So I didn't use my bike. I received a text to tell me the part had been ordered to which I confirmed and then a follow up text which I had missed, who sends SMS in 2025? Send an email as explicitly requested.
Fast forward to two weeks ago, after several months of calls where noone answered the phone I decided to walk up with the bike which takes an hour round trip to be told they had returned the part. But they would have it for Wednesday. I was given the same receipt for the pitlock for the second time.
Today I went up to get the bike booked in as again no one answered the phone. They told me that they couldn't take the bike as there was no mechanic in despite one visibly working in the shop. But they did have the part but hadn't notified me. While this was going on the phone rang three times, suprise suprise, no one answered. it After kicking up a fuss they said they were full with bikes but would take my bike anyway, so had lied in the first instance. I asked for an email to be sent and they gave me the same pitlock recipt for the third time.
Presently I have nothing in writing to guarantee that they have my BMC that was left today on the 5th at roughly 11AM. Despite being toldd I would be sent an email.
In complete dismay about how awful this entire experience has been.
