Booked a 'test drive' of a car by…

Booked a 'test drive' of a car by phone. Arrived at their site (NB nowhere to park) on time only for the salesman to spend 20 mins on the phone and keep us waiting. Car hadn't been prepared and then was told we couldn't actually test drive it as their insurance didn't cover it during Covid-19! Was then given a hint that if we bought the car that day we might be able to get a test drive!! Avoid like the plague....

A happy second-time customer

I don’t think I would have been quite so trusting of Beck Evans if I hadn’t bought another fairly old car from them five years ago which was brilliant. Unfortunately, my old car was written off just before lockdown. I wanted another fairly well-appointed old car and turned to them again. Due to restrictions at the time of purchase I wasn’t abIe to test drive my choice. They offered a live demo but I thought – what the hell – I’ll go for it anyway. In terms of the sale everything was handled professionally. I picked up the car and have been pleased ever since. Thank you people – nice car - good job!

Disappointing post sales service

Very impressed with Beck Evans. Smooth sales process, very efficient up until the vehicle was handed over to us. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we hadn't inspected the vehicle completely and noticed a minor chip on the windscreen, that wasn't disclosed to us. This wasn't a deal breaker in any shape or form, we got it fixed within couple of days. What was disappointing was the fact the our texts and emails were completely ignored by Chris Yaxley after the car left the forecourt.
A simple email or call would have been sufficient. All we wanted was some advice. Very disappointing!!

A truly awful experience from start to finish…!

A truly awful experience from start to finish.....

I should have read the warning signs when I had to call (and speak to a real person) three times, leaving a message each time as well as sending an email, before someone called me back about a vehicle that I was interested in.

I then arranged a time to come and look at the car and when I got there waited for 45 minutes for the car to be brought to the site. I was then informed that I couldn't test drive the car 'because of COVID'. I left having agreed that the salesman would later that day send me a valuation for my car as I was considering part exchange, that was almost two weeks ago and surprise, surprise....I haven't yet received it. Since this very disappointing experience almost two weeks ago my wife and I have both test driven and bought new cars. If you're thinking of visiting this business, don't.

Hi Paul, I'm very sorry to read that you have had a bad experience with us. Clearly we've dropped the ball here in terms of the phone system and poor communication. Due to our competitive prices and the incredibly buoyant market we are inundated at the moment. Unfortunately that means that we are occasionally missing calls. Want to charge you for everything.

Disappointing contact and come across as very expensive. Was interested in a car and looked good. Went to their website to see that they charge an extortionate admin fee and then want to charge you if you get finance elsewhere! This is where the name Stealers comes from. Wouldn’t touch them.

Firstly thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry that you felt that our administration charge for using a third part finance company is ' extortionate'. We charge £250 for the additional administration involved. We have to supply third party finance companies lots of information which is very time consuming. Our finance offers are amongst the most competitive available, using our finance avoids the additional costs and will often save substantial amounts of money. Our cars are also amongst the best value on the market, as you'll see from the autotrader price markers. In response to your comments about contact times, we're inundated with enquiries due to our reasonable prices. I'm sorry that we took some time in coming back to you. Absolutely dreadful !!!

Absolutely dreadful! After we had driven 2 hours to view a car agreed on it put everything in place the car was supposedly sold over night !!! No one even contacted us absolutely disgusting!!! Sean vile customer service!! Don’t touch these Typical deceitful car dealers !!!!

Absolutely shocking customer service

Absolutely shocking customer service
After making enquires about a car on a Saturday morning and completing a credit application (which was excepted) I was kept waiting for 2 days apparently for there underwriter to confirm a part exchange valuation.
Only to be told after txts and phone calls the car WAS ALREADY SOLD
Shocking I will never use this company again
BEWARE!!!

EXCELLENT PERSONAL SERVICE

I recently purchased a Mini Cooper from Beck Evans and Neil from the sales team was outstanding. These days it is nice to deal with a salesperson that offers such a high level of personal service. It made buying the car so straightforward. On receiving the car it was perfect and I have no hesitation in recommending Beck Evans. Thank you.

There was no inspection on the car

There was no inspection on the car. Yesterday I had the car serviced at a Mitsubishi dealer and was advised of front discs and pads will very soon need replacing also fan belts as they are slipping,I am having work done next Thursday. This will cost me £1300.

Great service and a friendly attitude!

A pleasure to buy my Mercedes CLS from Beck Evans! This was made easy as i had to export the car in France; and the sales team prepared all the paperwork promptly and showed a friendly, family kind of approach down to earth!! even a little question about one of the front tyres was dealt with great professionalism and straight away.

Very knowledgeable salesman and very helpful, dealt with all issues professionally and quickly, even arranging a visit to my local Porsche dealer to correct wheel alignment at Beck Evans expense.Would recommend them to anyone.
