Rude staff and awfull service
On the evening of November 14, my husband and I went swimming. At one point, a woman appeared near the pool with a massive speaker and blasted music so loudly that we literally jumped, and our ears started hurting. It turned out to be an aqua aerobics class (apparently for the hearing impaired). We politely asked once for the volume to be reduced to a reasonable level, and it worked—for about three minutes. Then the volume was turned back up, even louder than before.
Our attempts to address the issue politely were unsuccessful. The trainer and the manager rudely dismissed us, and we were forced to leave early without finishing our paid session. Needless to say, our requests for a refund or discount were also denied. We later found out that this woman is an employee of the facility.
The service and staff are appalling. If you’re running classes for hearing-impaired individuals, they should be conducted separately from sessions for people without hearing issues.

Great swimming class
My child recently joined swimming classes at Better. Coaches are very kind and I can see that every child is under their supervision. I love the way how they teach kids to swim.

Absolutely amazing customer service from Jonathan and so happy to find that as an over 60 I can get free membership and swim on Pay as you Go for £2.15. Better than I expected!

Instructors were more interested in…
Instructors were more interested in talking to each other than making all children feel included. For a 30 mins swim session I was expecting more attention to the kids ensuring they made progress.
I left feeling annoyed and disappointed.

There is no human interaction
There is no human interaction. It was her first time swimming and there was nobody there to welcome and make her feel comfortable/confidence. After her class we didn't get feedback from the teacher (it was her first time). It all just drop the children, go up, wait and pickup after class. No human interaction at all.

We are disappointed to hear your child did not enjoy her lesson.
The human interaction happens between the instructor and the students when they are in the class. As most instructors teach classes back to back, it is not possible to speak to each customer before an after a class. However, the teachers do update customers progress on the home portal so parents/guardians are able to view their child's progress and see what they need to work on.
We also offer one-to-one classes at some locations if your child would prefer a more personalised experience. If you are interested in this option, please speak to a member of our concierge team when you are next in and they will be able to advise further.

I was most impressed when I had my induction with Julian. Through a GP referral I am trying to regain movement and strength. I tried all the various gym machines and have received a personal programme to follow. I will then be monitored after four weeks to review. Great service and value for money.

No staff in gym
The gym facilities are good but I am disappointed that there does not seem to be a member of staff present in the gym during the two times I have been there since joining recently (Waddon Leisure centre). I believe this is a health and safety concern and something you should seriously consider addressing.

Aqua aerobics class
Went to an aqua aerobics class on Thurs 8th Feb and I was very disappointed by the unwelcoming instructor. She was unapproachable and as a new member I was not expecting to have to shout my medical condition across the pool. It would have nice to have a quick chat with new members before the class started.
On a posittive note the class itself was great and I did enjoy the actual workout.
