Bromley Council are criminals

My partner was the victim of a crime - her car number plates were cloned. The criminal drove around Bromley accumulating 2 parking tickets in the process. The car that has been fined is quite obviously not my partners'. It has 4 doors, hers has 2. It has different alloys, and a different number plate. We submitted appeals to each ticket to Bromley Council. We won one appeal. On the second parking ticket, they claim never to have received the appeal (they conveniently don't send confirmation emails when appeals are submitted). They are pursuing court action against my partner as a result. I have tried contacting the council, complaining to them, they don't seem to be willing to think that they have done anything wrong in losing my appeal. They don't seem to be capable of understanding that this ticket will never be enforceable in court due to the obvious fact that my car is not the one in their evidence documentation. I have a reference number from the police - my girlfriend was the victim of a crime. Bromley council are perpertrating the crime. My partner is in a lot of distress - she hasn't done anything wrong and she is now being chased by a court for payment. This is truly disgusting on behalf of Bromley Council. These people are as bad as the number plate cloners. You are criminals, there are no two ways about it.

The Sound of Silence

This complaint is about the Borough’s complete silence concerning application 25/05016/HPA, relating to a large rear extension to our neighbour’s house. An application was made to Bromley Council on 23/10/25, on behalf of Mrs X, who was at that time lived elsewhere in the Borough. The Council sent notifications to other neighbours but not to us due to a handwriting error on the location maps. And no “Notice” was posted outside 114. We only found out about this on 16/02/26, after knocking on the doors of neighbours.

We had no Notification on a matter that significantly affects our lives. Neither the previous owners of that house said anything definitive about detailed plans or an application process. Nothing more than “there are plans”. And considering the sale of that house took so long, with at least one collapsed chain, we understand their reluctance to upset us and unsettle their sale.

We realised this was more than an just idea when we went to see Mrs X, now moved in, to ask to know more on 17/01/26. We were show detailed drawings. Even then, we did not know, nor were told, that plans had been submitted on 23/10/25, and were approved 18/12/25. It was too late already.

We have attempted to call The Planning Office, but the phone has been set to cut the line. We emailed The Planning Office on 18/02 and again 09/03, and we got… nothing.
We had asked The Planning Office for guidance and got no apology, no “we are very busy” even.

We then raised the above matters with Mrs X, and the discussion was amicable. She recognised our concerns. And we recognise she has a legitimate and legal desire to expand her home. We were looking for solutions, not conflicts. We have since organised a Party Wall Agreement.

Considering the general dismay people feel about our public servants, this kind of initial mistake compounded by utter silence is just fuel to the general disaffection. We’d like to be more positive about public service (local as well as central), but there is nothing here to feed it.

Bromley council should be ashamed of…

Bromley council should be ashamed of themselves. Trees with TPOs are being raised to the ground. When you phone the Council to report it, you listen through 5 mins of automated blurb, only to be cut off, without being able to leave a message. This is disgusting behaviour. Oh, to work for the Council today, not having to answer the phone, nor actually deal with the public, AND you get to "work" from home 🙄

Shameful municipality

Shameful municipality! They replied to my challenge after nearly 2 months. I was fined while driving a disabled person and displaying correctly badge because the signs on the ground were completely faded and they insist the wheel was outside the marking which was not visible neither from the roadside and the driver's side. It's unclear to anyone who hasn't already been fined or been told by someone. They rejected the challenge, fining me a hefty £55, and they're not spending a single cent to restore the markings in the city centre. Shameful.

Street cleaning none done for a year

Street cleaning none done for a year . Bromley apparently has a schedule for street cleaning where I live ,but the reality is that no cleaning has been done since autumn 24 . This is an absolute disgrace , with compacted leaves and debris clogging the pavements gutters and drains causing blocked drains and creating a hazard for elderly folk .
I tried to get some answers by telephoning but the response was completely unhelpful . As a council tax payer I expect a reasonable service , I am expected to pay my council tax in a timely manner ,it all seems to be rather one sided.

Bromley Council’s Council Tax…

Bromley Council’s Council Tax department is nasty hostile and completely incompetent. Staff are rude communication is appalling and getting a straight answer is impossible. The whole thing feels corrupt with constant contradictions and no accountability.

All this while residents are paying for their new unnecessarily large office building which appears half empty because staff prefer to work from home. Meanwhile the Chief Executive Ade Adetosoye earns a publicly listed £250984 salary and has brought in highly paid senior staff all funded by residents yet the service on the ground is a shambles.

You cannot avoid dealing with them and that is the worst part.

Horrible service!!!

Horrible service!!! They sent me a penalty notice which never arrived, woke up with £240 penalty, I ring them up and they said they can’t do do anything about it, I have to either pay or go to court to lower back the amount, there’s no way to trace the first letter they sent… They don’t actually give pennies about Bromley’s people, not to mention about fairness!!!

I want to publicly raise serious…

I want to publicly raise serious concerns regarding the handling of my case by Bromley Children’s Social Care, related to the welfare of my daughter.

Despite repeatedly reporting issues involving potential emotional and psychological harm caused by her mother, and clear signs of parental alienation, the department has failed to respond adequately.

Specifically:

My reports of manipulation and interference have not been fully investigated.

I have been denied proper communication and updates about my daughter’s welfare.

Evidence I provided regarding harmful behavior has largely been ignored.

The handling of the case has indirectly allowed ongoing parental alienation, putting my relationship with my daughter at risk.

I am sharing this publicly to highlight systemic failures in protecting children and ensuring fair treatment of parents. My goal is to seek accountability, transparency, and proper intervention to safeguard my daughter’s welfare.

I urge Bromley Children’s Social Care to take these concerns seriously and respond appropriately, while ensuring the safety and well-being of children under their care.

Most of social services' staff at…

Most of social services' staff at Bromley seem to be completely incompetent, in my experience. They also don't seem to give a stuff about people's lives, or whether people lie to them about someone, or that they lie about people themselves. They even stopped involvement with the family without even bothering to say. Really shocked at the way they operate.

The binmen didn’t collect my rubbish…

The binmen didn’t collect my rubbish from my wheelie bin, citing poor weather as the reason (it had been warm and sunny for 3 days). I contacted the council and they “escalated it to managers”, informing me they would respond in 5 business days. They have not responded at all or come back to collect the rubbish. Their entire system is designed to ignore you and drag out response times to the point of another collection being due.

We have to continually message about…

We have to continually message about several things ie: waste not being collected, grass not being cut, dumped rubbish not being cleared and litter picking not being done. Since November 2024 my wife has messaged 65 times to either report something or to update that a previous report hasn’t been actioned even though we get a message saying it is fixed. This is totally unacceptable and Bromley council should ashamed when taking our council tax.

Useless

Useless. Experienced a failure in service, despite full payment in advance Bromley failed to place the order with their contractor. They've installed an AI answering 'service' that doesn't provide any answers and just cuts you off. Raised a query with their Customer Services which just sat unanswered for 2 weeks.
Raised a complaint, oh we didn't place your order, but we've done it now. Total incompetence.
