Not dissolving
As others have reported the tables are not dissolving. Unfortunately I have 2 * 500 packs.
I will have to find an alternative, what a shame.
Ino taste sweetener've enjoyed my cuppa with canderel…
I've enjoyed my cuppa with canderel tablets for ages but now they have changed and the taste has gone and they are no good anymore.
A change to the worst
I have used Canderel for many years. To my greatest disappointment, I have noticed the ingredient was changed from Aspartame to sucralose.
It won’t dissolve anymore and as a result it won’t work as a sweetener. It is a rip off. Had to bin all tubes I had bought previously. To make things worst, the company didn’t warn customers about the formula change.
Dispenser is junk for years now they don’t dissolve!
I don’t know why I keep on buying this stuff. I’ve used it for many years. The dispenser used to just work ok. But for at least 5y it simply doesn’t work! Jams up, crushes tabs, lets out multiple tablets. They must know about this. Why don’t they get it redesigned completely? They will surely go out of business soon. Add to this, in last few months the tablets have changed such that they don’t even fully dissolve in anything! I must find an alternative product now. They should not be allowed to continue selling this product. It is not fit for purpose.
DISAPPOINTED
I reverted to the internet to find out what was happening with Canderel. Unfortunately I have to agree with all the other comments on here. Initially I thought it was just a bad batch of dispensers and product. I now realise it is just another case of a company cutting corners and spoiling a good product. Now looking for an alternative.
I too have found that the tablets no…
I too have found that the tablets no longer dissolve and at first thought the milk had gone off.
Sod the vegans!!
I will now switch to a different brand.
Canderel listen and learn….. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”
You’ve now lost a long time customer!!
New formulation not fit for purpose
I’ve used Canderel for years because it was one of the only sweeteners that contained aspartame and aspartame is more agreeable to my own palate (we all have different taste buds).
Recently though the tablets have stopped dissolving in hot coffee and the taste has changed. I thought the change of taste was due to the tablets not dissolving properly, it was driving me mad, but I discovered now that it is because Canderel changed the formulation from Aspartame to Sucralose: 2 completely different ingredients! How could they still call it Canderel original… trading standards should look into this, because they are selling a product that is fundamentally totally different from the previous one but still calling it the same. My just bought batch of Canderel is now going straight in the bin and I will be looking for a new Aspartame based sweetener. The end of an era!
The sweeteners no longer dissolve and the dispenser doesn't work - how hard can it be ??
The sweeteners no longer dissolve, this leaves a floating lump in the beverage which is highly unpleasant. Canderel UK & ROI must be aware of the issue but continue to manufacture the sub - standard product ? Why ? Perhaps they can explain here ?
On top of this the sweetener dispensers do not work, the sweeteners are either not dispensed or are crushed into pieces by the dispenser.
I've used these for many years but why would I continue to use a sweetener that doesn't dissolve in a dispenser which doesn't dispense
Canderel not dissolving properly
We have been using Canderel since it was first launched but recently the tablets no longer dissolve properly leaving little sweetner at the top and a very sweet taste at the bottom of the cup. Have they changed the formular?
Have they changed the formula ?
Have they changed the formula ? It tastes sweeter and doesn’t dissolve properly ! White floaters in the cup is not a great way to have a cuppa ! And the dispensers are terrible….. they jam more than they dispense and considering that this product is one of the most expensive, I feel it is one of the poorer quality on the market. Time for a change……..
The sweeteners are no longer as before…
The sweeteners are no longer as before & do not dissolve properly any more - I also agree with other reviewers that the dispenser is now poor & jams more often than not. I live in France & I've used Canderel here for over fourteen years but will look for an alternative now. It's a pity :(
Change in formulation - tablets not dissolving as before
As previous reviewers have found, my wife and I found the tablets did not disperse evenly as before.
I wrote to Canderel, Melanie replied promptly and helpfully with this clarification…
“We always want to ensure that our products keep up with the changing dietary needs of our customers. Our new tablets formula removes Lactose, making them vegan friendly. The sweetener has been changed from Aspartame to Sucralose. Rest assured, the quality, sweetness level and performance is as you've come to expect: What change is that more consumers can now enjoy our iconic Canderel Products.”
Very happy with explanation from Canderel, less so with the product not dispersing in the drink as before.
The worst dispenser on the market
I find it hard to believe how bad these dispensers are. It really does jam more often than not. Once jammed it is difficult to clear. And yet this product is the most expensive on the market. I recently bought own brand from Lidl and from Asda and had not a single jam of their dispensers. I ran out eventually and opened the Canderel version in my cupboard and I am back to the same problems. It is ridiculous that the issue has not been solved
The sucrose sweeteners are very off…
The sucrose sweeteners are very off putting. They don’t dissolve and floating residue is very bad. It doesn’t seem to happen with other brands so won’t be using them again until they solve this problem.
Shockingly bad dispenser
Shockingly bad dispenser. Waste 50% of the tablets . Feels like the manufacturer doesn’t care.
New! Canderel that don't dissolve
Having used Canderel for many tens of years Why have they suddenly changed whereby they fail to dissolve in boiling water when for example making a cup of tea!
AWFUL SWEETENER in all senses of the word!
For the 1st time, I purchased Canderel tablets. My usual Stevia sweetener was unavailable. WHAT A MISTAKE I MADE! a) The dispenser is not fit for use b) These tablets do NOT dissolve! c) WEIRD taste! c) I HAVE BINNED THEM. Would never have thought this product could be so AWFUL! It is said: "Better the devil you know than the devil you don't"! Rant over!
Taste is not nice and much sweeter
I have been using Canderal for many years but recently the taste as changed. They appear to be much sweeter infact half is enough now. So disappointing and fiddly trying to half them. i have just found out that they have changed the ingredients from Aspartame to Sucralose. Would have been nice to let their customer know. I have managed to get some of the original ones on Amazon.
They seem to have changed (to horrible)…
They seem to have changed (to horrible) taste. Recent purchases completely different effect. Even halving ‘dose’ leave residual taste. Why can’t they notify change?
New recipe does not dissolve and floats…
New recipe does not dissolve and floats at top of drinks..surely they must know this is a problem?
