Deliveroo regularly accept orders without having any riders to carry out the delivery. After taking the order, they continually push their delivery time estimate back until one of two things happens:
1. Your food is delivered hours late, stale and cold.
2. They cancel your order so late that you can't make alternative plans.
The website provides no mechanism to contact a person, or to complain.
Absolutely s-*t service Deliveroo.
I hope you go out of business.

Waited for food that never arrived. No offer of appeasement for their error. I know the money won’t be refunded for five working days either. They’re just happy to take it, even if the restaurant is closed to show turnover on their books. What a joke.

Two hours for cold stale food!
Waited two hours for food only for it to arrive cold and stale. No agent was willing to help or give a time frame each time i asked. Had no option to get a refund and was declined compensation. Funny how money was taken straight away yet not given back when deliveroo is at fault. Disgusting service.
Very Poor Service
Placed an order and after an hour + they didn't have a rider to deliver the order.
I pushed for a refund which I got only because Subway agreed to cancel the order.
This company is an absolute joke. They shouldn't accept an order if they can't deliver the thing.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience! Took an hour and a half to prepare, and then the food was never even delivered. Steer clear of deliveroo, I had to involve my credit card company in order to lodge a complaint and get a refund for items not delivered.

No Riders then don't take orders
Deliveroo delivery service is shocking. They accept orders with no Riders available and if they find a rider half an hour later , the food arrives cold. We also waited over 2 hours on New Years Eve only to be cancelled at 10pm as they couldn't find a driver leaving us stranded for food at 10pm. They need to be reported to ACCC so that they get their act together. AVOID !!

several issues over multiple ordering experiences. once ordered and waited over an hour and a half until my order was cancelled as the restaurant had CLOSED DOWN. Tonight I ordered and was told my food was delivered after an hour. It was not. I called the restaurant and was informed that the driver never came. I opted for a redelivery but was informed it would take another hour, despite my order sitting in the restaurant. Customer service was entirely unhelpful (did not have the power to issue refund or contact driver). Order was picked up 20 minutes after the restaurant has closed. I feel so bad for them. I’m never using Deliveroo again.
Horror story and poor form by Deliveroo
Horror story and poor form by Deliveroo. In the TWO hours from the time we ordered our food: the app kept pushing out the delivery time, we called the restaurant to then find out the 1st driver never showed up to collect food, the 2nd driver took the food and went off grid (i.e. stole the food) and Deliveroo then wanted us to wait for a 3rd driver. Due to hangry kids we went out to eat at restaurant. Asked for refund from Deliveroo. They wouldn't provide full refund saying we ate the food!! Possibly a breach of Australian Consumer Laws.
Never use Deliveroo despite being cheaper and offering more restaurants

Fake Delivery to boost points
The riders consistently say the foods been delivered and then arrive 20 minutes later to improve their score.
It’s not how long it takes that annoys me it’s that I know they do this all the time. Jokes on me for using them again but this is the last time. Even after implementing this new number thing they obviously have a way to override it. This has happened 3 times now

Bad. Your order will keep on rescheduling and redelivering until you complain and they’ll advise you the restaurant has closed. And you have to argue just to get a refund. Highly unreliable service. I’d rather pay more on good service.

Rider said he couldn’t find my address. I was very specific as we are off a road with the same first name and of course the postcode will bring you straight here. They have refused refund, what’s worse was the lack of explanation and no empathy. Like talking to a robot .
First and last time I will ever use Deliveroo.
This was the first, and last time I will ever use this very poorly organised, poor excuse for a food delivery service.
Normally use Door Dash and Menulog, but couldn't in this situation, so Deliveroo were the only one picking up from this particular restaurant, or so I thought.
Placed an order at 10pm. Expected delivery time would be 10.30pm. Great. Then I get update after update after update that the expected time was taking longer due to the high number of deliveries, which resulted in no rider/driver/cyclist being designated to my order. Gets to 11.30pm and really, I shouldnt have waited that long. I called both the restaurant then Deliveroo, nothing. Just standard automated messages. So, I ended up driving down to the place myself which I avoided in the first place because I have two small children. So in the car they came.
Get to the place, the manager tells me my order is in their system but no rider driver skateboarder was designated. Yes I was already aware of that. He (Mr Manager) could have given me a courtesy call, a courtesy text even, to confirm no driver was coming. Deliveroo then just leaves my order open and running so that at last check my order was expected at 2.30am. I tracked down a Live Chat on their website and requested they cancel and remove my order as I dont want my personal details just sitting there. They cancelled and removed it, but should have been done as soon as I made the complaint.
Unprofessional, disorganised, unreliable and untrustworthy. Never again.
Dishonest and No Accountability
Just yesterday (16.09.2021) I had ordered 4 items in total; 2 x Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken, 1 x Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken and 1 x Fried Chicken Skin from Papa Rich in M-City. I had received my order in a timely manner but the Fried Chicken Skin was omitted. I called the restaurant back and all they could offer me was "something extra" if I came back and ordered from them again the next day OR I request a refund through Deliveroo. If their business model involves deliberately omitting customer items to force them into becoming "returning customers" this is a very unethical business strategy. On the other hand, Deliveroo were also unable to provide me with a refund without adequately explaining why. Their reply to me via email on my refund request simply stated that they regularly tell drivers to check orders before leaving the restaurant and that "Unfortunately, we're unable to offer you a refund for this order." It seems as though nil parties are willing to accept responsibility nor are they willing to provide a sensible resolution to this matter, it is best for all potential customers to stay away and spend their hard-earned money elsewhere; especially in these difficult times.

Pre-ordered the night before for a meeting I was running so I wouldn't have to worry. Booking was for 12-12.30 delivery. Deliveroo took my money of course.
11.45 I noticed no response from the restaurant. I rang the restaurant, no answer.
Tried to contact Deliveroo but there's no real direct way to do that. Emailed them marked urgent.
Rang the restaurant again and they had no record of the booking because they don't use Deliveroo. So the booking could never have been fulfilled.
I re-email Deliveroo at 12.00. I re-email them at 12.10. In the meantime I'm running around looking for food for 13 people.
At 12.45 (15 minutes after their 'latest delivery time') they email me that my order was cancelled by the restaurant.
Rubbish. It was never able to be made.
They assure me that the pending charge will be cleared in 1-3 business days. Over $200 they should never have charged that they had half a day to recognise wasn't able to be ordered and then blame on the restaurant, taking zero responsibility nor apologising for their mistakes and not responding to my email until way too late.
