Dreem increases quality of sleep
Dreem increases quality of sleep. The headband is comfortable, producing data that allows me to view and adjust habits. So I can enjoy and rest while Dreem does the work. I have seen some inconsistencies in the app (e.g. messages, settings), so I have removed a star for that reason.
I lke the Dreem Headband a lot
I lke the Dreem Headband a lot. I’m glad I bought it. The things I like:
Because it tracks brainwaves, it can more accurately track sleep stages than other devices. Actually, I’m taking Dreems statements on faith, since the app doesn’t show the actual brain wave results, but just your interpretation of them. However, they seem to have done some significant scientific studies to verify the accuracy of their device.
It tracks my sleep position (e.g sleeping on my side, on my back, etc.). this is important to me because when sleeping on my back I have significant sleep apnea. On my side, my apnea is very low and no problem.
I gave it 4 stars because it needs a few important improvements. As it stands, it doesn’t take full advantage of the hardware they are selling.
Here are some suggested improvements:
1. Display all data on the graph with sleep stages. The biggest improvement would be to display heart rate, breath rate, blood O2 concentration, motion and position in parallel with sleep stages in the graph. Here is how that is done with the Eversleep device which measures heart rate, blood O2 concentration, motion, snoring (from microphone on the phone) and sleep stages (estimated from heart rate, blood O2 concentration, and motion).
(couldn't insert image)
2. Show changes in heart rate along with sleep stages. Dreem gives average heart rate and breathing rate. This is of very little interest. What is useful is what changes occur and when they occur. For example, in the Eversleep graph above, you will note specific moments when heart rate goes up, O2 concentration goes down, motion goes up. Something is going on. What is it? The coincidence of these measures is a strong indication of a sleep apnea event. It most likely results in the person waking. If brainwaves were measured, as with the Dreem Headband, you would know for certain about waking and how long it lasted.
What would it indicate if heart rate went up during REM sleep? And there is no drop in O2 concentration? An interesting observation.
Average heart rate would hide these changes. Knowing minimum and maximum heart rate is more useful than average, but still not as useful as having all the measures correlated.
3. Show percentage of time spent in each sleeping position, and correlated with sleep stages. I am very pleased that the Dreem Headband shows position. However, it would be much more useful if it showed what percentage of the time the person slept in each position. It would be even better if it also showed on a graph along with sleep stages, so you could see when you were in each position and what else was going on.
Why? I my case, I suffer from sleep apnea. However, if I sleep on my side, the apnea is very small (i.e. low AHI). If I sleep on my back, it is high. It is important for me to know how much of the time I am on my back (ideally I should not sleep on my back at all). Seeing your O2 concentration correlated with position would be very useful for many people.
4. Show blood oxygen concentration. I understand that the Dreem Headband has an oximeter to measure blood oxygen concentration. Displaying that data would be a major improvement.
5. Show graph in landscape mode. The sleep graph does not diplay in landscape. In portrait mode the graph is very small. It would be helpful to show it in landscape.
a. The ability that Dreem has to zoom in to the graph is very good.
6. Export reports and data to a computer. It would be very helpful with all the data to be able to export to a computer. Then graphs could be viewed on a large screen and/or printed out on large paper.
7. Export raw data.
a. It would be very useful to see the brainwaves from each sensor displayed. (couldn't insert image)
b. Exporting the raw data could attract others to develop apps for the Dreem Headband. There could be many innovative and different types of uses for the Headband. That would attract many new buyers, including people who would not otherwise have any interest in the Dreem Headband.
8. Show amount of motion in addition to position. While the Dreem Headband shows sleeping position,it does not seem to track the amount of motion. For example, one could be sleeping in one position (e.g. on their side) but moving around a lot in that position. It would be useful to register that type of motion. The Eversleep device and smart watches are on the wrist and measure movement of the hand. That is interesting and useful data.
It's a good experience
It's a good experience! After a bit of adaptation to wearing a device on your head, the data and reports are helpful, but more importantly there's a program to help get better sleep!
Great concept and the sleep tracking…
Great concept and the sleep tracking seems to very accurate. The band could be a little more comfortable and customisable as per individual requirements. The speaker on the band is barely audible.
Great device, but beware if you’re bald
Great device! Good insights, good tech, and helped me sleep. Only issue is that I’m bald and it leaves imprints on the side of my head that take a few hours to go away each day. If I had hair it would be 5 stars!
Great piece of technology
Great piece of technology, comfortable to wear. At the moment I am on the assesment period, we will see how will go on in future. What is confusing that it shows light sleep phase in period when I was awake but with shut eyes, maybe it is only my opinion, that is why we bought it in order not to have notebook beside our bed :)
Fourth week of using dreem, this thing really works well. It can be difficult sometimes to stick to program but it definitely worth the effort, feeling more refreshed in the morning. Keep up the good work guys!
Very helpful product
Very helpful product, excellent support. Based on the info collected and the guidance from the app, my sleep quality has improved by leaps and bounds.

Too many steps to get ready for the night in the app and too hard to make sure its in the charger right.

I love this a lot & hopefully updates will improve it even more.
I love this a lot, especially the bone conductor speaker because I do not like wearing ear plugs to listen to a meditation while I am trying to fall asleep. I do wish it was a bit louder though. There are some things that would improve this and make it a 5-start rating: A better voice, an option to start the night over, and an option to have the background come back on if you wake up.
Worth twice the money.
I want to share my experience with the DREEM 2 Headband.
This is my first review on Trustpilot.
First I want to say that the support team is great, I had a few questions about the DREEM 2 and they were always quick and polite.
The device itself is great, it's very comfy and really easy to handle and charge, but the device comes with a whole experience, the app is intuitive and shows a lot of information.
I love the cognitive behavioural therapy of the whole experience.
It has completely changed my sleep to the better, within two weeks of use, which I never thought possible.
What a shame.
What a shame. I did thorough research on Dreem prior to making the purchase on Black Friday despite seeing the regular 1 star reviews.
I did not expect the sort of dodgy communication and customer service I’ve had and now merely want a refund, which is becoming a task in of itself.
Upon buying Dreem the checkout page suddenly turned to French. I speak conversational French but still found this odd, then my order confirmation arrived but again in French. Then a “Welcome” message, in French.
I raised this with their unbelievably slow customer support and in the midst asked why I was “offered” a €40 charging dock despite the FAQ’s “What’s in the box” indicating it was.
I question this with the Customer Support and 24 hours later I’m informed “Because I’m American you get it in the box”. I’m not American...
Turned out the FAQ’s are incorrect and skewed towards America.
The worst part of this journey has been my realisation it did not come with said €40 charging so asking for a refund prior to it departing the day after ordering. Not possible I’m told, It’s already left the factory.
I accept that and frankly I was looking forward to trying the band even without the dock.
3 days later I have confirmation of depot departure so this was a lie.
On the 5th of this month I get told the item is on the way. Then a supposed attempted on the 7th, I work from home and heard nothing. No missed delivery notice, nothing on my CCTV.
Suddenly the packaging tracking repeats the same messages I’d previously seen “Leaving depot, arriving in recipient country etc”.
The package is now predicted to arrive on the 24th of December, where I’m told to “Reject the package” as to not cover postage for the return despite them having the ability to not send it in the first place.
This is a massive shame. I don’t believe there to be malicious intent on behalf of the company but gross negligence from marketing/customer support and logistics. All of which have failed in me even experiencing the product which I wanted so badly.

The Dreem 2 device is very helpful with showing me areas of sleep I need help with. Great device!
Starting to use...
I started using dreem2 a few days ago. So still using the introduction 7 days program. Looks like measurements are accurate. Connecting to iphone and network worked fine. Have to get used to wearing the headband. Very curious for recommendations and program after 7 days.
Hope very much Dreem will reintroduce a deep sleep help again!
Also wondering what other facilities could be introduced with the dreem headband sensors in other welness or even therapeutic areas.
And perhaps from other parties.
Everything is great
Everything is great, I really like how precisely Dreem measures my sleep, but sometimes there is a signal loss - I won’t figure out why, I’m putting everything on correctly ...
Although it would be great to see brain activity not only during sleep, but also during relaxation.
It would be great to choose the option of turning music on when I wake up at night, not only when I am falling asleep.
Maybe in the future it is possible to expand the range of programs, for example, not only cognitive-behavioral therapy, but some other practices from the act of therapy, metacognitive therapy - just to give a choice

Lack of Deep Sleep Stimulation with Dreem 2
did not realize until a few days ago that Dreem 2 does not have the stimulation to promote deep sleep function. I assume that you discontinued this function because it did not actually work, you cannot prove that it works, or you believed that it would be too expensive to prove to the satisfaction of FDA that it works to gain regulatory approval of Dreem 2 as a medical device to sell your product in the US. This function was my only reason for my purchase as I do not need a product that simply tracks my sleep quality and promotes good sleep hygiene. I would be interested in any data that you have demonstrating that your earlier stimulation function actually improved percentage of total sleep time in deep sleep and if this function did/does work if you have plans to bring it back? Thanks

it can be difficult to get customer service to engage but once they do, it goes well.

Terrible
Terrible. Don’t be conned into buying this.
I've tried your customer service and no help.
Website states that if ordered before noon it ships that day, mine was shipped 2 days later. 10 days later and still not arrived, shipping states still in France. Dreem won't refund me as they say shipping out of their control. Ive repeatedly asked to be refunded, as their site claims, but as yet they've declined this as they can't find my shipment and are blaming the 3rd party shipping agent whom they have used. All very frustrating and a waste of my time.
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!

DREEM still has some problems with accuracy of hypnograms
The DREEM2 device and app provide a hypnogram but I have continued to have inaccuracies--doesn't clearly separate REM. You cannot have 2 devices within wifi distance, it mixes them up. I was originally pleased but now am looking for something more accurate. Headband started falling apart after 6 months also
