I bought an Audi q5 from the Blackburn dealer end of January this year. The day after I took it home started juddering corrected it self week after same again. Took it to my sons in Chester got worse jolting us back and forth on a 60 mph rd. phone the dealer same day it was a Sunday. To be told to ring back Monday rang them back. Told me to bring it in. I told them I didn’t feel safe driving it it was dangerous bearing in mind I’m still with in my 30 days at this point. told them I want to reject the car and that I know my rights they said let’s get it in for a few days to find the fault.i gave them the benefit of the doubt Got a call they said they did a diagnostic on no faults found because it s intermittent they can’t do anything come back if it does it again this has been going on internitantly for weeks I asked for the diagnostic report they said they don’t keep them which is a lie they sent me a receipt of the diagnostic saying what it went in for nothing to say what they have checked This was the final straw I contacted my finance company on the 23rd march they sent an independent inspecter to my cari was on holiday at my caravan he found serious fault codes he said don’t drive it it’s not safe. I asked my finance company to in arrange recovery waited 3 weeks nothing ! Three weeks it’s been at my caravan I rang the dealer myself as I wasn’t getting anywhere i want it recovered it’s under investigation as the independent inspecter said its not safe to drive and the faults was there at the point of sale and I’m lucky it hasn’t cut out on me when doing speeds of up to 70 mph very scary situation to be in I said I want it recovering at no expense to me they said we don’t do recovery it’s upto me to get it recovered I said not a chance get it recovered tomorrow they agreed collected it 2 weeks ago Thursday 21st may at 7:30 took to the dealer on the 23rd may still there now no updates on vehicle unless I rang them. Not had my car for 5 weeks no courtesy car offered kept asking for one and all I get is cars booked up months in advance. Rang them yesterday 4th June lovelly gentleman very sympathetic said they are trying to find and replicate the fault and but it’s going to take time it’s the crankshaft sensor
I mentioned I haven’t been offered a courtesy car as I need one for work. as the fault was there at the point of sale he said he will have a word with sales team heard nothing I rang them this afternoon about the courtesy car they said they might have one available next week I’m not holding my breath they don’t understand all the stress this has caused me I struggle with anxiety and this hasn’t helped. It’s all in the hands of the financial ombudsman. They haven’t given me the customer any thought. They have their money after sales customer sales is non existent. Air on the side of caution when dealing with Evan’s halshaw Blackburn thats all I can say. Been going on since 28th Jan since I bought the car to present still not getting anywhere.

Don't get tricked by Chinese company

Very disappointing experience with my new Omoda 7. I purchased the car on 27 April from Evan Halshaw Blackburn from the very first day the navigation system was not working properly. The vehicle already went back to the dealership for a software update, however the issue still remains unresolved.

Now, less than a month after purchase, the car battery has completely gone flat and the vehicle became undriveable. For a brand new car, this is unacceptable.

What made the experience worse was the roadside assistance support. I contacted Omoda roadside assistance and was redirected to RAC, but RAC stated that battery support was not covered and advised me to take the vehicle to the dealer instead. The problem is that when the battery is flat, the car cannot even be driven. This leaves customers completely stuck with a brand new vehicle and no real immediate support.

A new car should provide reliability and peace of mind, but unfortunately this experience has been stressful and frustrating from the beginning. I hope Omoda improves both vehicle quality control and aftersales/roadside assistance support because customers should not be dealing with these kinds of issues within weeks of ownership.

I have nothing but dislike for Ford and…

I have nothing but dislike for Ford and after 15 years I will be looking at alternatives at my next change.

Poor engineering in the Puma and absolute lack of empathy at point of critical repair.

Also the 3 year warranty proves to have many failings. How can a vehicle less than three years old require a new gearbox and new clutch!!!!

I have been driving for 44 years and never before had such a poor experience or a similar problem with gearbox/clutch.

I auctioned my car through Carwow and…

I auctioned my car through Carwow and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

The vehicle was agreed at a price and collection arranged. On the day, the third-party transport team didn’t show up as scheduled, and I had to chase things myself to get clarity. I was then told I needed to get the car to Ford Blackburn directly, which added unnecessary stress and inconvenience.

After all of that, the dealer pulled out at the last minute claiming there was a “ticking noise.” This is simply the normal sound of the turbo actuator on an Ecoboost engine — something easily identifiable by anyone familiar with these cars. No qualified mechanic inspected it, and no proper diagnostic checks were carried out before the deal was cancelled.

It felt like the vehicle was agreed at a strong price and then withdrawn at the last second. The lack of organisation throughout — from transport not arriving to no one knowing who I was on arrival — made the whole process frustrating and unprofessional.

Selling a car is stressful enough without wasted time and last-minute reversals. I expected far better.

Very disappointing

I brought my Fiat in yesterday for a major service and MOT. The MOT passed with no advisories, which I’m pleased about. However, the customer service side has been disappointing.
During the pre‑check I was told a front tyre was “urgent” and “1mm off legal”, yet the MOT itself didn’t list it as even an advisory. That inconsistency doesn’t inspire confidence and felt more like an upsell than a genuine safety concern.
I also asked twice yesterday for the actual service documentation showing what was carried out as part of the major service (oil, filters, spark plugs if due, brake fluid, etc.). Instead, I was repeatedly sent the Vehicle Health Check, which is not the same thing. As of today, I still haven’t received the technician’s service sheet or any confirmation of what was replaced beyond a stamp in the book.
The reception team didn’t seem to understand what I was asking for, and communication overall felt minimal. The valet was also very basic. For a major service at a main dealer, I expected clearer information, better customer care, and proper documentation.
I’m sharing this so the team is aware of the gaps in communication, documentation, and consistency, as these things matter to customers.

I purchased a vehicle from the…

I purchased a vehicle from the Blackburn branch and part-exchanged my previous car, with the dealership agreeing to settle the outstanding finance. I paid the negative equity directly to the dealer at the time of purchase.
Despite this, the finance company continued to take two monthly direct debits after the vehicle had been handed over. When I contacted the finance provider, I was told they had not received settlement from the dealership.
After repeatedly raising the issue, I received a partial refund from the dealer, but not the full amount taken. The finance has since been confirmed as settled, yet I am still out of pocket for part of the money.
The situation caused unnecessary stress, time spent chasing multiple parties, and avoidable financial loss. I would expect far better handling of finance settlements and clearer communication, particularly when customers have fulfilled their obligations in full.
Based on my experience, I would advise others to check carefully that finance has been settled promptly and to monitor their bank accounts closely after purchase.

My car was meant to be picked up first thing on the 13/01/26 for an MOT but I had to ring them up going up to dinner time because they hadn't picked it up and the reply I received was we forgot wouldn't have mind but I received a call to confirm they were picking it up. Big doesn't always mean better.

I would like to raise some points on my experience dealing with Evans Halshaw Blackburn.
1: Not given any information on any MOT's or services carried out on the vehicle. No documentation anywhere. Was told the car has full service history, contacted Peugeot who confirm the four year service has not been completed.
2: My partner raised concerns over the condition of the two front tyres. We was fobbed off, being told both tyres passed MOT so they are road legal, the tyres were not in a safe condition when sold as the outer edges were worn which was confirmed by Halfords. Rear tyre has splits on it. The car lost traction when I had my baby grandson in the car. This resulted in a cost of £397 for two new tyres and wheel alignment five days after purchase. Receipts kept.
3: The locking wheel nut was missing when the salesman was informed by a phone all he was very disinterested and asked for photos. More interested in the £20 outstanding (see further down).
4: At the first visit we were told that we could not test drive car unless we were committed to buying because we would be adding additional miles, the salesman changed his mind when we suggested going elsewhere.
5: We explained due to work commitments that we could only collect car on the morning of 2nd January, recieved an email asking to collect at 4pm or 5pm as the salesman had arranged a house viewing.
7: The salesman has sent two emails requesting a £20 deficit although I have an invoice documenting the price I paid for vehicle is correct.

I would not recommend Evans Halsahaw Blackburn and will be contacting motor trading ombudsman / trading standards / VOSA for further advice.

Professional Sale

Bought a Ford Mondeo from Evans Hawshaw, Blackburn and very pleased with the service received. My contact was Sales Executive, Samuel Thorp; from the moment I had enquired about the vehicle advertised to the car keys handed over, his professionalism was exemplary.

I was given a fair and honest overview of the car alongside a personalised video that highlighted the car's exterior and interior showing natural wear and tear, which I asked for.

The sales process was thorough and clearly explained with optional products offerred. Samuel gave excellent customer service and had great interpersonal skills whilst dealing with our sale. He took us through the car's service and MOT history, showing work done. This was reassuring to know the car was in a healthy state.

Many thanks to Samuel and the team; I left having had a positive sales experience. The car drove smoothly home north.

Don’t buy a used car from this garage

Don’t buy a used car from this garage, sell faulty cars. Bought a car on the 21st October, tried calling the next day with issues, sales guy never returned my calls. Car was off the road for 5 weeks, before one issue was fixed, coolant leak, still looking for the service book and they gave me money to get back windscreen wiper fixed somewhere else and told I would need to pay for any further repairs, 4 weeks later I have an oil leak, no manager working until January, still under the 3 months guarantee. I work unsociable hours, going to lose money and be out a fortune thanks Evans Halshaw

Poor Service.

We located the vehicle that we wanted to buy and reserved online. We then arranged to meet the salesman (Asad) on the Sunday. Agreed the sale and elected to buy the Gardx paint/interior protection. Agreed to pick up the vehicle on the Wednesday when we were assured by Asad that the vehicle would be available for collection with the Gardx applied (Asad then went on holiday). When my wife collected the vehicle the Gardx had not been applied but the salesman who handed over the vehicle insisted that the Gardx had been applied. Yet there was no care pack or certificate. When we challenged them they advised that the certificate would be emailed. When I spoke with Gardx they advised it had not been registered with them. EH then advised there had been a problem with the system registering (However Gardx advised there were no issues). Eventually after a complaint to EH HEAD OFFICE the problem was resolved so some 9 days later. We have never had an apology from EH for the inconvenience. WORD OF CAUTION. If buying the Gardx protection ensure you obtain your certificate.

Avoid Evans halshaw Blackburn!

I bought my car here in May, and I’m STILL waiting for the work they promised would be completed before I even collected the vehicle. They assured me it would be handled quickly, yet months have passed with nothing but excuses and delays.

Now, after all this time, they’re flat-out refusing to do the work they originally agreed to. The lack of honesty, accountability, and basic professionalism is shocking. Their customer service is non-existent, and dealing with them has been nothing but stressful and infuriating.

This dealership has shown me they’re more interested in making a sale than honouring their commitments. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place unless you enjoy broken promises and being left to chase them for things they should have done in the first place.
