I bought my car here in May, and I’m STILL waiting for the work they promised would be completed before I even collected the vehicle. They assured me it would be handled quickly, yet months have passed with nothing but excuses and delays.
Now, after all this time, they’re flat-out refusing to do the work they originally agreed to. The lack of honesty, accountability, and basic professionalism is shocking. Their customer service is non-existent, and dealing with them has been nothing but stressful and infuriating.
This dealership has shown me they’re more interested in making a sale than honouring their commitments. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place unless you enjoy broken promises and being left to chase them for things they should have done in the first place.

Don't buy a car from this garage!! They sell spares and repair cars as fully working order!
Very threatening and intimidating.
I'd seriously look at the staff you employ and look at the emails they send to people! It's wrong & disgusting of a garage to be like this.

Myself and my husband went to Evans halshaw Blackburn only this morning and was met by Craig. Craig is the most kind, warm and extremely efficient young man, his knowledge and understanding of what we wanted was exceptional, his honesty and caring is second to none. We want to thank Craig most sincerely and am sure he is a huge asset to the company. Thank you. Katrina and Aurelio.

Please keep away from this dealership if you want a easy car trade in and no repercussions…however
Izaaz the finance manager at Blackburn Ford seems unable to grasp he broke the law selling our trade in vehicle on his forecourt whilst still owing finance on it.
His sales team of Nick took over 6 weeks to deal with settlement of old vehicles loan agreement.
This was whilst we were driving our new vehicle for the same time.
To my reckoning I owned two cars with finance owing on both..appalling service and definitely would never recommend this team.

End of July, after a not my fault accident, looking for cars. Called in E.H.Chorley on Monday & had already lost my details by Thur.with me ringing back as no-one had rung. Then Cameron found a yellow automatic SUV that was my spec.at Blackburn.
So NOT paying the £99 non-refundable deposit - SERIOUSLY, my eldest son & I went through on July 10th, to check it out.
Dealing with Sam, nice young man, agreed on the car, no price wriggle room but could have car mats & SOME fuel in the car. Due to Sam's time off & youngest son's holidays, could only collect Aug.27th!
After returning a Dacia Sandero hire car to Enterprise (more problems there) on
Aug.27th, through to Blackburn, to collect my NEW TO ME car, exciting stuff-NOT! Trying to sort payment - problems of it being received, same for another customer, NOT very clean car, was offered mats for me to put in then, once everything was sorted'ish, took over an hour & wasn't busy, NO FUEL IN THE CAR & advised the nearest Tesco was a couple of minutes drive away!!! Not good enough.
No matter how much you're spending on whatever item, it should be exciting & ready to go.
Being a single, widowed parent this was huge for me, having lots to sort on the back of something that wasn't my fault, it needed to be right & although a very nice car, sadly it wasn't!

My gear box failed after 4 months only covered 1000 mile they refused to help the sales guy just transferred me to service department to book it in at a cost to me £145 per hour just to look at it . Spoke to a manager his response was you should of taken the extra warranty at the end of the day you haven’t bought a new car just what you want to hear when you have spent £6500 on a car that is not fit to use .I would ignore all the smiles and would you like a coffee and so on soon as they have your money they turn on you push you aside and move on to the next victim . This isn’t then end of the matter I intend to take this further. You have been warned people don’t fall for it . Blackburn branch!

ANOTHER UPDATE ON MY EXPERIENCE.
DAY 6 AND STILL NO CONTACT. I'VE NOW SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT TO TRADING STANDARDS.POOR POOR SHOW EVANS HALSHAW
Submitted details as requested but no contact from Evan Halshaws. To rub salt in the wounds i received an email from Motherwell branch about the urgent work that needs to be completed due to the safety concerns with my car. Giving them to 5pm on Friday or ill be going to trading standards. Bought a car on the 17th July. Expressed a concern about osf headlight as it was seriously condensed. Service light csme on about 3 miles up the road.
Fast forward 4 days. Took the car into another Evan Halshaws branch. The car came up as a critical error on there own
Health report. Spoke to the manager of blackburn branch and he laughed it off. Told me to get the part of ebay or goto a local garage to fix. Also told me that it is a recommendation to fix other than a safety issue. Short story refused to fix.
Service light came on also. Originally the branch manager offered to cover the costs. Got a call from him 15mins later informing me that a service was completed by Evans Halshaw in March. My service book and online computer states otherwise. Bought 3 cars from Evans. Never been let down. Bought from Motherwell, East Kilbride , Edinburgh West. Unfortunately Blackburn let me down. Submitted a complaint to head office. Let's see what happens.

Exceptional Customer Service.
Me and my Wife have purchased my Focus St and my wife's Fiesta eco boost from Evans Halshaw, Blackburn. We both purchased GAP cover and 2 years guarantee.
The Fiesta had to go in for an Health check, due to a rattle noise. So we went in 9am sharp, Tuesday 03/06/2025. We spoke to Ellie on Service Reception and left the vehicle with her.
Now to the main reason for my review.
Ellie has been Exceptional right from our first meeting, her Customer Service Skills are OUTSTANDING. Ellie has made multiple Service phone calls to keep me up to date, from what work was required, Ellie also chasing up our Guarantee to get the authorisation funds payment sorted. She sent me an email with Technician Video Inspection, showing the work required. Then literally the very next day, Ellie rang me to inform me our Fiesta was all sorted, work done, just going for the Valet then ready for collection.
The entire process was seamless and THANKS TO ELLIE, was a reassuring and care free experience.
Ellie has OUTSTANDING Customer service skills, very pleasant and polite and a REAL CREDIT to Evans Halshaw, Blackburn.
Well Done & Thank you Ellie.

I had a very disappointing experience with Evans Halshaw Blackburn. I travelled from Edinburgh after being assured the car (a Mini Countryman) was in good condition. The listing had no photos, so I asked for detailed images but was sent a video that didn’t clearly show the interior or the condition of the car. I sent a list of questions, making it clear to the person I spoke to that my trip depended on the answers. I was told the car was fine, with no mention of broken mirrors, dents, or flaking paint. After I spoke to the salesperson on the phone and was reassured everything was fine, I went ahead and changed my insurance policy and breakdown cover to include the car, as I was planning to drive it the next day. I paid admin fee to update my breakdown policy. Also had to arrange childcare and spent around £100 on train tickets.
Then, after all these arrangements were in place, the salesperson called me to say the car had a broken bumper and they had ordered a new one. He said he had not noticed this and that his manager told him so. He only sent me photos of the damage the morning of my travel—far too late to cancel or change plans. I trusted that the bumper issue was simply overlooked.
However when I arrived, the car was in terrible condition—nothing like what I had been told. It had broken mirrors, dents, flaking paint, and overall looked neglected. I was shocked and extremely disappointed.
I had to test drive the car, but did so very reluctantly as it was filthy, full of dirt and stains. I felt uncomfortable even sitting in it, let alone driving it. Plus the clutch was stiff. Of course I refused to buy the car.
The manager gave me a lift back to the train station, which I appreciated.I would not recommend this dealership if you’re travelling from afar. You may end up facing the same stress, financial loss, and wasted time that I did. Always double-check everything - although I thought I did as well-, ask for clear photos, and speak with more than one salesperson to avoid a situation like mine.
update 25.06
Although the manager of the store told me that he would try to reimburse me, as I had paid all this money to travel for nothing because of their mistake, he never messaged me again to let me know if I would be reimbursed, despite the fact that I asked via email. Apparently, he only told me this to make me feel better on the day of the visit, after I had travelled based on the wrong information they gave me—information that ended up costing me both time and money.

Not a very pleasant buying experience
As a customer I felt very on my own with the purchase of a secondhand Volvo car and not really looked after by Evans Halshaw.
Pros:
Salesman was very pleasant and responded to all my concerns promptly.
Points for buyers to be aware of:
- Check the car thoroughly even though it is from a large dealership with its 123 point check and certified used car promise. The rear parcel shelf was missing and would not have been replaced if I had not noticed it. When selling my old car, even I had to certify all fittings and fixtures were in place.
- Check the car again on delivery. There were a few chips to body work and trim which were touched up. So far so good, but on getting home, one of the chips had been missed. EH paid for a touch up kit which I had to buy and touch up myself.
- Check it has had a recent service. Despite the 123 point check, the car was overdue the service and would not have had one had I not questioned it. The oil was changed, but I’m doubtful if anything else was done.
- I was suddenly asked to pay £99.00 pounds for the privilege of buying a car from EH. Something to do with an admin fee. Not acceptable.
- The trade in offered to my old car was only £150. I got nearly 10 times that on an online car sales service.
- The warranty offered is pretty poor. 3 months with a maximum of £500 for repair. This would seem worse than my statutory consumer rights.
- I had to sit through several presentations trying to sell me warranty, bodywork and fabric insurance, which all emphasised the terrible things and expense that could happen if II did not take out these insurances. Not pleasant.
- Check the car tax band. On delivery, I was taken to the post office to tax the car, which I was told would be about £180. It ended up being £590. At this late stage, it is very difficult to back out.
- It may sound obvious, but think very carefully about buying a car from a dealer who deals in a different manufacturer (Ford). They don’t know the cars so well from a different company. Also, buying local has huge advantages. After months of searching, I found the car I wanted from EH, an hour away. This distance from my home led to stress, undue commitment to the sale, and the difficulty of putting things right if they were to go wrong.
