Purchased a low miles used Suzuki from the Darlington branch. Car came with their 3 month warranty. During the third week and after only 250 miles the clutch failed. We had the car recovered and rang them next day. They said they are unable to recover vehicles so we had to arrange to get it to them, which we did at our expense. Couple of days pass and receive a call saying it is our fault the clutch has gone, because we have been ‘riding’ the clutch. Strange we put 40,000 miles on our last Suzuki with no issues? As it was our fault, we would have to pay £1500 for the repairs. I questioned this and said we wanted to return the for full refund. Was told I could, but the £1500 would be deducted from the payment? A week passed and we received a call asking if we would like the repair done. I said no. In the meantime expecting the worst, I had contacted Sims Suzuki in Darlington and got a quote for £770 for the job with genuine parts. I was prepared to have EH assemble the car and tow it the couple of miles to have it fixed. Then received a call saying they would do the repairs for £500 to cover the parts. I reluctantly agreed, still believing it should have been a warranty claim. The car repaired and picked up by my brother as I could not leave the shop. He immediately put it in his workshop and had to adjust the clutch as it was incorrectly set up. He also did the handbrake which I had asked them to do as it was on the last ‘click’ despite having a new MOT on purchase. He was surprised that the brakes had not been checked during the service carried out before delivery and they had not noted the mix of tyres on the car. In conclusion, very disappointed with the pre delivery preparation of the car. We now have a major oil leak issue but have not contacted EH because I feel no assistance would be forthcoming. The sales girl Joanne was brilliant, a credit to the company. But after sales and warranty is pretty worthless in my opinion.

Just purchased a ford explorer electric today with Graeme at Darlington. The whole experience was seamless from looking at the vehicle on Sunday afternoon to collection today. Normally about write reviews but was so impressed with the quick service and knowledge from Graeme that I felt this was a must. Highly recommend in the future. Liam Bishop Auckland

Went to have this place for a used car a found a fiesta ecoboost that I liked sat in sales area doing all the paperwork to purchase the car put a 1000 pound deposit down and got told the car would be ready by the following Wednesday on the day of pick up I got a phone call from Evans halshaw Darlington saying the car would not be ready as the so called parts were wrong so I said no worries and left it at that a week later I recieved a phone call saying the car was ready I went and got the car they had stamped the pre delivery service book but not one invoice to say what had been done it then dawned on me that this was a ecoboost with a wet belt and yes you guessed it the car was 10 years old meaning that the wet belt should have been changed and yes I fell into the salesman ship con of a extended warranty, I contacted ford uk about the wet belt and they agreed with me that the wet belt should have been i contacted Evans halshaw Darlington about this and the service manager told the receptionist we did enough to get it through a mot.. Evans halshaw Darlington sold me a car knowing that the engine could blow up any time so I had take it to a independent ford garage in darlington where I had to pay 850 pounds to get the wet belt done ... they need to hang their heads in shame selling cars that are not fit for the purpose and lining there pockets with the commission they steal of customers with there fake warranties they even sent the log book off to Swansea stating Evans halshaw ford Darlington was the owner if they can't get the simplest of things right then you know fine well your in trouble.... don't get ripped off going to this company you would probably be better off going to a back street garage

Visited Evans Halshaw Darlington on Tuesday to view a car, spoke to Mark from the sales team who was very helpful and informative, we decided to ‘think about it’. Went back to the showroom on Thursday - unfortunately Mark was a day off but was helped by Mo who was equally as friendly and informative, he was very patient and took time to explain processes. With Mo’s help and his colleagues we bought our car. Everybody in the branch is very friendly and welcoming, there’s also free complimentary hot drinks. I would recommend this showroom and the team .

Graeme Horner gave us the first class service that we have come to expect from this professional. He goes above and beyond to give us the best deal possible without any pressure. His friendly demeanour has always been appreciated as we have dealt with him for many years. Manager Chris Bolam has also offered us good deals allowing us to change our car with the utmost ease and efficiency we have also come to expect. These are two people we feel we can trust to help us make the right choice. Thank you to you both and hopefully we deal with you for many years to come.

Buying a car remotely was made reassuring with Martin, Michael & Stacey. Living 2 hours away made it hard to view the car, but got photographs, opinion of bodywork, interior, options and a walk around video. Being able to reserve the car on my credit card, which had the spec I wanted was important. I thought I would wait 2 months and 5K miles before writing my review. The BMW 320d did 3K miles in France with no issue and was a dream to drive. The car was prepared to a standard better than I expected and its condition on seeing in Darlington was like it was almost new (and it was 3 years old). The 3 names above were helpful, courteous and professional and I would recommend dealing with Darlington Ford to any friend/colleague.

If zero stars was possible I would give it zero .
Horrendous communication .
Bought a car in April within 11 days the car was in the garage faulty .
Mechanics order the wrong size part to fix vehicles .
No courtesy cars when offered one in warranty package .
Don’t pay the warranty it’s pointless .
Avoid buying a car from here if possible .

I took out a Ford car with Evans Halshaw Darlington (a Ford specialist) and opted for the additional premium guarantee to ensure peace of mind in case anything went wrong with the car. Unfortunately, my car broke down last week (first week of April), and the earliest they can even look at it is mid-May.
Considering the significant cost of the premium guarantee and that I'm taking out a Ford with Ford specialists, I expected a much higher level of service. The guarantee includes a 7-day contribution towards car hire in the event of a breakdown, which implies that they aim to have you without your car for no longer than 7 days. However, this only starts once they have looked at the car and under certain circumstances. This is something I wish had been made clear, prior to taking out the guarantee.
I am incredibly disappointed with the service, having had to chase multiple people at Evans Halshaw to understand what I need to do to have the car looked at under the premium guarantee. Once Evans Halshaw provided me with the email address for the premium guarantee provider, I contacted them for details on the next steps. This took a day for them to reply to me, in which time, the earliest slot available at Evans Halshaw Darlington had changed from 23rd April to mid-May within a day. I seriously doubt whether this is the case and wonder if there is more they can do to improve their service here.
Given the poor service I have received despite paying extra for a premium guarantee, I am now unsure whether I will take another car out with them at the end of my term. This experience has left me questioning the value of the premium guarantee they recommend and whether I would want to be tied down to a car with them if I will be without my car for over a month before they can even look at an issue, with no courtesy car or help with a hire car in the meantime. It also leaves me questioning what the benefit is of taking out a Ford with Evans Halshaw's Ford specialist branch, when I get a service poorer than what I have come to expect when being serviced by other car companies through different dealerships.
Overall, my experience has been very disappointing for a company who pride themselves on the importance of providing high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction, something I have not experienced during this event. I hope there is more they can do to deliver on these areas they pride themselves on.

Service desk staff were always polite and helpful felt awkward for them as it was them that had to always attempt to make excuses for the poor work and delays in getting satisfactory work carried out.
