Have read a few reviews which state the people have had issues making a claim under the Pendragon Premium Guarantee (Extended Warranty), so wanted to leave a review of my recent experience.

Bought a used 2017 Mercedes C200 Coupe in July 2024 from Evans Halshaw Shiremoor, and along with the car I purchased their 2 year extended warranty (Premium Guarantee). I have always been sceptical of these warranties in the past, but being a Mercedes with expensive repair bills I thought I'd take it this time, for peace of mind.

June 2025, and my engine light came on. Booked it into Evans Halshaw Shiremoor for diagnostic checking. Anyway, long story short, 2 codes came up (Crankcase vent Solenoid, and Thermostat) and both were covered under the extended warranty. Car was booked in, and after 2 days, it was repaired, with all parts, labour and diagnostic costs covered under the warranty, which has almost paid for itself with this one claim.

Staff at the dealership were friendly and courteous, and kept me updated all along the way.

I bought a used car and was told its just serviced.I had a 3 month warranty and it broke down a week after it expired if serviced theses problems could have been detected I called the office at Newcastle upon Tyne and he put the phone down on me.It makes me think they knew it would break down.

Always very professional but you can also have a laugh with the staff.. They are a great bunch who always make you welcome at the garage.. The service you get is great.. You are kept up to date with the progress of your vehicle every step of the way.. I would definitely recommend this garage, plus their hot chocolate is lush lol

We had arranged to sell our car and had agreed a deal for a new car. However, our new car is not available until the end of August, beginning of September. Our old car developed a fault. The staff went out of their way to ensure the car was repaired quickly despite being very busy. We are very grateful for their response and service. Every member of staff who helped us were friendly and cheerful. A great experience despite the disappointment of the first fault in seven years of owning this Vauxhall Grandland.

Just wanted to leave a review and especially a massive thank you to Justin at Shiremoor. The communication from start to finish was impeccable and Justin was absolutely fantastic. He listened to what I wanted, gave me suggestions for a new car within my price range and I have ended up with a beautiful new Corsa. Can’t fault this dealership I have used them for years and will continue to do so. Thanks again for all your help Justin, really appreciate all your help!

Replaced my existing car and moved dealership to Evans Halshaw. Great experience from start to finish. Rachel D was very helpful, and sourced the vehicle that I wanted. I have not needed to use after-sales care so cannot comment on this but the pre-sales care was great.

Sale was very easy, saw the car online, sent a walk-through video and went to collect. Chips in roof which hadn’t been seen so had to return to pick it up once they had fixed it which wasn’t ideal as it was a 120mile round trip. Weren’t too pushy trying to get me to take their cover after I declined. Had a problem with the car 3weeks after sale and they collected, fixed and delivered it back to my home address leaving me a car to use in its place.

Steve was brilliant and patient in helping us / not pushy and didn’t oversell anything. Got a decent price on our part-ex too.

On the drive home noticed a parcel shelf and handbook missing as well as a couple of nails in one of the tyres.

Called Steve up and he ordered replacement shelf and handbook which I got shortly afterwards.

Car got booked in re tyre and Hayley (apologies if I’ve misspelt!) was very welcoming and a pleasure to deal with according to my wife. She helped co-ordinate things with the service team who were also great. Turned out the car was missing a locking wheel nut which was ordered in and a new tyre was fitted.

No hidden charges and no extras or saying this is now a “me” problem!

Great customer service not only during the buying phase but then also the aftercare - would highly recommend to others and we’ll certainly be using in the future.
