GO Outdoors - Ambleside (Express) Reviews 

I bought my new Merrells from recently opened shop in Ambleside and never having a Go Outdoors nearby before I didn't know what to expect. The staff were amazing, very helpful, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble, a really friendly team. Oh and great prices. Go Outdoors just need to get the App sorted so that I can register my discount card and use my phone in future.

Knowledgeable staff helping with purchase of new walking boots. Described walking frequency and usual distances and was recommended mid price but quality boots, which will last many years.

Overall the service was ok
The problem occurred when we came to pay for 2 pairs of Merrell sandals on the rack they were advertised at £39.99 when we came to pay I was shocked to see that the sandals where double the young salesman was so embarrassed so he asked for the Manager to sort it out but even when we asked him to adhere to the price he refused due to the wrong sale ticket on the shelf We did eventually purchase 2 pairs through another supplier

I have always bought my walking shoes from Blacks and was initially disappointed that the store was being changed to a Go Outdoors but I shouldn’t have worried as my experience was as good under the new brand as it was under Blacks. I had a problem with some walking shoes bought last September so called into the store to speak with them. I didn’t have my receipt, just my bank statement showing the transaction. The staff were superb and Holly assisted me in choosing an alternative brand of shoe and doing what she could to bring the price more in line with what I’d spent on the original pair. She listened carefully to what I needed, made helpful suggestions and ensured I left happy with the alternative and in my dealings with Go Outdoors. I would have no hesitation in buying from them again and many of the staff are the previous Blacks team so the experience and great service is still there! Thank you Holly!

Excellent store and very helpful and friendly staff

I went in to purchase a new pair of walking boots. Plenty of choice and I was served by Tim who was very knowledgeable and most importantly patient while I made my choice.

I was amazed at the new shop in Ambleside very well set out and to get such good deals after joining for a year only £5I bought some lovely boots for a very reasonable price!!

Visited the Ambleside shop and tried on numerous pairs of walking boots today. The lady, Agatha serving me was extremely friendly, gave me helpful & knowledgeable advice on styles, fittings and durability and nothing was too much trouble for her. Thank you for such wonderful customer care.

There was also a male staff member who was also very knowledgeable & helpful in assisting to enable me to find a walking boot that was right for me & fitted me correctly with my orthotic arch supports.

A sincere thank you both for such warm and pleasant customer care in a very newly opened Go Outdoors!
