Had a battery replaced under a 5 year guarantee 15 months after initial fitting following breakdown recovery. Customer services very helpful. Fitted on agreed date within time frame. Loss of seat due to a 3 day wait for appointment. 4 stars for customer support, offering replacement, commitment to date and time and professionalism of visiting technician.
System issue and disorganisation
Ordered a set of 4 season tyres for my car, Renault Kadjar. They called me, I have ordered the wrong ones as they are commercial tyres. I said, how’s that possible if I ordered from your website with the cars exact matching details, reg, etc.
Okay, he changed it to the right ones. Then the mechanic turns up with the wrong sized tyres. Cancel and reorder. Guess what happened? Another mechanic turns up with the wrong commercial tyres. Joke!

Absolute rip off
Absolute rip off, do not use this service, paid a call out charge and on top of that a repair charge for a repair that the service guy said couldn’t be repaired.(6.20pm on a Friday) He was her less than 3mins. Price £65.00
Used a local garage today repaired in half an hour.

I'd previously had a very good experience with Tyres on the Drive - so tried to book with them once more. They are now part of Halford so went with it.Booked a tyre replacement - 48 hours to wait but - the technician arrived on time and then rang me to say I had order the right tyre except it was a run-flat - not compatible with my own tyres. He refused to fit the spare so I could drive the car to a local dealer. Totally unhelpful. I talked through the experience with my local Kwik Fit dealership -on their website you have to opt in for run flat, but on the Halford's website you have to opt-out of run flat - I missed this so yes, my error but surely a trained tyre fitter is capable and insured to fit the spare wheel if he can't complete the job?? Never again.

I ordered 4 replacement tyres to be fitted at home. The fitter claimed he had inflated all tyres to 36 PSI. When I went for a drive I checked the pressures. They were actually, 39, 33,35,34. This type of failure could result in the loss of life. Then when I went to equalise the pressures I discovered one of the valves was loose and leaking air rendering the vehicle unusable. Halfords offered to send someone out 5 days later. When I pressed for a more urgent response they assured me the Birmingham Hub Manager would call me back in 30 minutes. After 50 minutes I called back to learn that all the staff at that center had gone home for the day.

522GW install does not include APP set up why not ??
Ordered a new 522GW and arranged fitting for today I choose anytime during day as cheapest.
Engineer arrived no phone call to say he was on his way liked it said when booking engineer.
He had a look at my Mercedes sprinter which has been converted with a rear wheelchair ramp etc he said to me his boss had already told him that he won’t be able to install the rear camera or it may incur excessive problems and he won’t be able to install camera.
As vehicle only had one side door I suggested he can get cable along roofline he then said trim had been fitted really well so he couldn’t guarantee the the cable won’t droop down but fitted cable with non showing.
He then connected the power to the 522GW dash cam but plugged it into the sprinter OBM port as kit supplied with camera you can only have either OBM or cig lighter outle no inline fuse wiring which is a better connection option.
Asked the engineer about setting App up on mobile but said I’ve never done it in all my time with Halfords. So if you have no idea how to connect system dash cam to phone you will need help from a member of your family to set up app. I couldn’t understand why the installers have no training on setting up dash cam to phone. My opinion is surely that setting up dash cam is part of the installation process is it not?
When engineer finished he told me the Nextbase Micro Card is faulty and someone will deliver new replacement card either Monday or Tuesday so they don’t even carry any spare micro SD cards. So fingers crossed no body hits my van in the meantime.
Installation seems to be a rush which you cannot blame engineer but Halfords should give engineers full installation training which includes customers App connection and show customer camera and installation is complete. As I paid for full installation but set up not in visit. Myself being a retired engineer installation covers all parts or am I wrong ?. Seems to be a installation rush by the engineer caused by Halfords. Engineer was friendly enough.

Absolutely shocking service – wouldn’t trust them again
Booked in days ago for tyre fitting on our drive, only to receive a phone call on the morning of the appointment saying they “don’t have the correct torque settings for the wheels.” That’s simply not good enough. If that were genuine (which I seriously question), it should have been picked up at the point of booking – not at the last minute when customers have rearranged their entire day around the appointment.
To make matters worse, this is not the first time Halfords have let us down in exactly this way. It feels like a familiar pattern of poor organisation and zero accountability.
Their service is absolutely rubbish. We were left completely stranded with no alternative offered and no urgency whatsoever to resolve the issue they created.
Honestly, if you need tyres fitting, I’d suggest taking the wheels off and getting them done yourself elsewhere. These big companies have become totally unreliable. I certainly won’t be trusting Halfords again.

Booked a mobile battery replacement for my vehicle for Saturday, they gave a timing of 8-8, and at 1900hrs I get a text from a mobile number saying the tech wasn't coming. Phoned up Halfords and they stated there was nothing on the system so they couldn't do anything at that stage, and the next available appointment was on Weds which they can't even book because they can't get hold of the tech. Terrible service when I have work on Monday... I've been completely messed around!

I had a mobile tyre fitting appointment today 29.11.25 and nobody showed up plus on the tracking it shows that my order was complete! I feel literally ripped off and not to mention customer service do not answer or if they do they are full of BS! I need help on how to get my money back!! Battery replacement on driveway booking…
Battery replacement on driveway booking was easy. Technician arrived in time slot. But amazingly he didn't have a set of jump leads or a charged battery booster. As my car battery is under an electrically powered seat, he couldn't do anything. Nice guy, but ill-equipped. Had to cancel, claim a refund and then call for a recovery vehicle.

Arrived without the proper tools to do the job. Didn't have a clue what they were doing with my car and just tried to wing it. After the first bit of unnecessary damage I asked them to cancel the job. Avoid and go elsewhere where the staff are trained, care for your property and have more than a few minutes allocated to do a job.
They just don't care
Booked a replacement battery to be fitted at home few days ago, all was fine, had message this morning saying be there at specified time, then store manager called saying van broke down.
Explained I need it fitted as have long term medical condition and need it for work. Store manager couldn't care less, just wanted me to refund, which I refused.
Escalated to head office, they came back with short staffed, can't even get their excuses straight.
I would avoid like the plague, full of promises that fail to materialise, plus appalling customer service

Absolutely useless. We've waited 5 hours for them to come. We want to return home from holiday and are stuck.
My husband has made 7 calls to their help centre which knows nothing. They finally put him through to the hub who have told us they can't come today. Their on line tracking shows nothing. Do not use them they have no idea about customer service
Left without a car for four days because the fitter "ran out of time" on my appointment day.
Had an appointment on Friday for a mobile battery fit between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., had a call at 6:00 saying that I was next on the list and the fitter was on their way to me, then had a call at 7:30 saying that the fitter had "run out of time" and couldn't make it to me, and the next available slot was Tuesday. Left me without a car for four days and having to get taxis to and from work for three days.
So convenient
Matt turned up 1 hour into the 4 hour booked time slot. He fitted 4 tyres on my drive in under an hour. I’ve just checked wheel nut torque, tyre pressures and road test. All OK. So much more convenient than waiting in the service centre and excellent service.

If it goes wrong - Stick to your guns and DO NOT phone manufacturers helpline as you’re warranty for the first 30 days is with Halfords. They must sort it out !
I’m chuffed with myself as I had to shoot down six employees including the manager and master technician. - I know my rights but they didn’t know theirs lol.
After one hour they all gave up and gave me a replacement.
I may be old but sorting out this bunch of employees with an average age of 20 was eventually very satisfying 🙄🙄🙄🙄
