If it goes wrong - Stick to your guns and DO NOT phone manufacturers helpline as you’re warranty for the first 30 days is with Halfords. They must sort it out !
I’m chuffed with myself as I had to shoot down six employees including the manager and master technician. - I know my rights but they didn’t know theirs lol.
After one hour they all gave up and gave me a replacement.
I may be old but sorting out this bunch of employees with an average age of 20 was eventually very satisfying 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Excellent service
Excellent service. Engineer arrived on time. Very courteous, polite and friendly. Was also very knowledgeable and helpful. Fitted three new tyres to two different cars and was all done in about half an hour. Will definitely use them again.

As a ex halfords mobile fitter seeing all these bad and negative reviews is actually annoying.so with that in mind pls bear in mind tge fitters are all great blokes and ladies who do go out of their way to help and keep timeslots/appointments.the problem here is all halfords over stacking techs with jobs knowing full well they wont all be completed on routes that arr miles apart.most if not all techs work 12 hr shifts dont have lunchbreaks and always have to work overtime just to try to fulfill your jobs for you.so please bear this in mind before going mad and slating them.thanku.

Halfords are absolutely useless. We booked for a home visit for three tyres to be changed with a time slot of four hours ( 8-12 ) They did not show up for the appointment. We were told the engineer was sick. We had to call halfords to Re book for the next day and once again no show. Absolutely zero communication or apology from Halfords,
when you do contact halfords you get put through to a call centre in India. when explaining our situation we were told once again that a different engineer was sick even though earlier we were told the engineer was running late and would be with us soon. This must be their go to lie. They can not help in anyway apart from pass on your complaint, or re book for another time slot. they can not resolve anything. Believe me nobody will get back to you when they promise they will.

Battery fitting done incorrectly and still no follow-up from customer service
I used Halfords Mobile Expert to fit a new Yuasa EFB027 battery to my MINI on 17th August 2025.
As an electrician, I could have fitted it myself, but I paid for the fitting service because I understood that new batteries on MINIs need to be registered to the ECU once installed. When I asked the fitter to do this, he told me it wasn’t necessary — which I’ve since confirmed with a MINI dealer is incorrect.
That means the job wasn’t completed properly, and now I have to arrange and pay for another garage to finish what Halfords should have done.
I called customer service today, gave my order number and email, and was told I’d receive a “blank email” to reply to with my complaint. Three hours later, nothing. No email, no case reference, and no progress — just another dead end.
Really disappointing for a company the size of Halfords to make customers jump through hoops for what should be a straightforward fix.
All I want is for the job to be completed properly or refunded — and for someone to actually respond.

Booked a mobile fitting through my leasing company Arval, unfortunately they have started using Arval rather than ATS which were always really reliable.
I got a complete flat tyre on my way to school drop off, my tyre must have deflated when I parked the car and took my son in, because when I returned it was completely flat. I’m 38 weeks pregnant and only had the option of being towed approximately 15 miles away for a change of tyre or have Halfords come out next day.
Booking link said will come out 8:30-13, updated text said 8-12. I had to get my mum who lives 20 miles away to pick us up and take us 40 mins early to school, to be there just in case, as the tracker wouldn’t work and depot want open until 8:30, which makes no sense that the time I was given was from 8am. It got to 11:34 and I get a call from the driver to say he was 2 hours away, and not able to go to my car because of an issue with the machine and they had lots of vans not on the rode. They had lots of notes to say of my medical situation and he patronisingly told me to not stress too much. Complete lack of empathy. Thankfully my leasing company were exceptional and understanding. Do not book with this unreliable company if you have a choice

Awful service. Just had a tyre replaced at home. Fitter was one hour late even though paid for timeslot. The fitter has then gone and damaged my very expensive 1 year old alloy wheel on my Porsche. Never will i use them again. Wating for a reply from customer services.

There isn't enough space to highlight everything that is wrong with Halfords Mobile 'Expert' service. Just avoid. Pay a bit extra somewhere, anywhere else.
I booked an appointment for a new car battery to be fitted. I was given a tracking link that didn't work. On the day no indication was given that there was any kind of problem. The allotted time came and went, and, after calling Halfords and being put on hold, having to explain the situation several times to several different people, being cut off, requesting a callback that never materialised, I gave up. At some point during these exchanges I was told that the fitter was off sick.
As my choices were limited, I called the next day to rebook. No apology for the spectacular fail of the previous day was given. I booked an appointment for the next day, an evening appointment, between 4-8pm.
As my car was stranded at my place of work, I stayed late in anticipation of the fitter's arrival. At 7pm he called me to tell me he wouldn't be able to make the appointment. He was about 30 miles away and still had other appointments to satisfy. Being rather angry, I pointed out that I could probably have been furnished with this information a little earlier. Then he launched into a rant about how overworked he was, and how useless Halfords is. He did eventually calm down and apologise for his outburst, and assured me that he would sort out a slot for the next day. He would, of course, call me about that.
Next day. No call from anywhere. I got a refund through PayPal and found an alternative - albeit more expensive - alternative.
I've heard nothing from Halfords since.
Avoid at all costs.
Terrible service
Had a puncture early hours of Saturday morning after shift at work. Needed my car for Monday so rang Halford mobile repairs and booked for Sunday and paid extra for specified time frame as again working. Time booked between 1600-2000. At 1445 got a call to say that the fitters van was broken so couldn’t come. Asked about someone to come first thing Monday morning as didn’t need to get to work til the afternoon and was advised next available slot Wednesday - totally unacceptable. Then had to request full refund which I am still waiting to hit my account. Contacted British Mobile Tyre who came out and replaced the punctured tyre.
Never again - unreliable
I spent 10 hours waiting for them to put on 4 new tyres - a 4 hr slot, a 2 hr slot and then another 4 hour slot. Each time I was contacted at the end of the period. Was understanding of the first two excuses but caught them out lying the third time. Am waiting for a refund.
I do not like Halfords BUT
I do not like Halfords, I worked there and begrudgingly was disappointed when I booked tyres to be fitted by national tyres which I have now learnt are owned by Halfords. There is a lot of negativity and I won't let my past experiences with working for the company affect my review. They were the cheapest for tyres, cheaper than black circles. Showed up on time, did them nice and quick and the lad was respectful and friendly. Great job. Will use again.
Trash online booking service
Trash online booking service. For the second time I got to know that they cant take my car only after I have already arrived for service. Even reception said that I cant relay on online booking and better contact garage directly. First time I thought is just issue with Halfords communicating with National Tyres but now second time same with Halfords garage.
Lizzy helpful and efficient
Lizzy was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. She showed me how to access the light fittings in future for emergencies. The fitting was quick and very reasonably priced.
My first appointment was cancelled
My first appointment was cancelled. The excuse given was that the mechanic's van had broken down.
I booked a second appointment with a time slot of two hours and heard nothing by the time the slot expired. I phoned Halfords and asked for information and after being passed to two separate people was told I would receive a call back within an hour. I received no call. Plans for our day have been ruined and I'm still waiting to hear what is happening.
My advice to anyone thinking of using Halfords for this service is DON'T !!!
Car tyre fitted by Vish.
I just had a car tyre fitted by Vish, (Oxfordshire) he was friendly and allowed me to watch him work. He was very efficient and knew what he was doing, it did not take long for him to fit the tyre. I found the online experience of booking the appointment and choosing the tyre very easy.

Had two new tyres fitted today by Vish. Couldn't fault him and his work. Amazing service, very helpful. I had to go for a 5 minute drive after to check the tyre pressures were all good, he even topped up my screen wash for me. Thank you so much for your excellent service.

The worst customer experience I’ve had…
The worst customer experience I’ve had in many years. Failed to arrive for tyre fitting, failed to contact me and then failed to provide any information when I contacted them via phone. No apology, no offer of compensation for wasted time, just an attempt to rebook. I’ve taken a refund and gone elsewhere.
Laughable, non-existent customer service!
Halfords mobile fitting service is fine, no issues. However, after 18 months and 8000 miles all four tyres have perished with cracks between the treads Not quite an MOT failure but require replacing nonetheless. I was advised to contact Halfords Head Office because even the garage manager thought this shouldn't be the case.
How impossible this proved to be.
Online chat is with an AI assistant. Great if your complaint is less than three words long. If you can spare the time a human eventually appears to tell you nothing can be done but to call 03301359779.
This number leads you down a myriad of press 1 for, press 2 for and ultimately to India. The CS agent basically said nothing could be done, not convinced she understood a word I said tbh.
