Terrific easy to book service, used an allday slot for a battery change. Prompt call 10 mins beforehand. Clean van and technician, straight to wrok, nothing too much trouble, explained the outcome and all powered up in 20 minutes. Superb.

Beyond impressed (battery replacement & installation)
Didn’t realise Halfords did all these extra services (tyres, car battery, etc) until I needed help & searched online. Was able to book immediately & booking process was simple (even though it was a bank holiday). They arrived on time, answered all my questions (all whilst changing the battery) & were done in about 20 minutes. Awesome service, brilliant & knowledgeable people & all for a decent price. What more could I ask for?

I had a really frustrating experience…
I had a really frustrating experience with Halfords’ mobile tyre service. I originally booked an appointment because one of my tyres was slowly deflating. The technician came out, removed the tyre, checked it and told me there was nothing wrong with it.
However, the very next day, when I urgently needed my car for work, the same tyre was completely flat, worse than it had ever been before. This left me stuck and under pressure.
When I contacted Halfords again, I was told I would need to book another appointment and pay another fee, despite already paying a £20 call-out charge the day before. From my perspective, I essentially paid £20 only for the problem to come back even worse.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience, both in terms of diagnosis and customer support. I expected a more thorough check and better follow-up given the situation.

New Battery fitted
Had a battery fitted next day which was a bank holiday at a great price and with a 5 year guarantee, only issue seems to be the tracking part of the website, it is still showing as my job is not completed

I ordered two premium tyres, Continental AllSeasonContact 2, for my Volvo V60 through Halfords Mobile Tyres, with extras, for £322.45 on 1st May 2026. To be fair, the fitter arrived on time, and I appreciate that things can occasionally go wrong. However, the fitting quality and aftercare have been very disappointing.
The tyres did not appear to be inflated to the expected pressure after fitting, which I was happy to correct myself by topping them up to 38 PSI the same day. The serious issue is what happened afterwards. Overnight, one tyre dropped from 38 PSI to around 10 PSI, and the other dropped from 38 PSI to around 32 PSI. When I topped it up, this dropped to 8PSI and 30 PSI within the next 24 hours.
That is a major safety concern, especially on newly fitted, relatively expensive tyres. One tyre losing pressure could potentially be a one off issue, but both tyres losing pressure immediately after fitting suggests the job was not completed properly.
Being left with a newly created pressure loss issue is very frustrating, especially when the appeal of mobile fitting is convenience. I am glad I checked the pressure before relying on the car. To confirm the issue, I topped the worst affected tyre back up to 38 PSI again, and within around an hour it had already dropped to 35.8 PSI. That points to an active leak or fitting issue rather than normal pressure variation.
This left me unable to safely rely on the vehicle while waiting for Halfords to send someone back out. The earliest appointment offered was 2 days later, despite the issue appearing promptly after fitting and creating a situation where the tyre pressure continued to drop to an unsafe level. I am hoping the follow up visit resolves this newly created issue, but in the meantime I have had to change my travel plans because I cannot rely on the car safely.
Customer service was no better. The adviser was dismissive, made comments along the lines of me “overthinking this” and “it’s not going to be resolved quickly, you’ve got to deal with it”. I was unable to speak to a manager, or anyone able to make an escalation decision, such as arranging a faster onsite resolution or considering a goodwill gesture. By this point, my old tyres had already been removed and presumably recycled, leaving me in a worse position with limited options. I spent nearly an hour on the phone.
At this point I would actually have preferred to take the car to a centre where they have the tools and facilities to inspect it properly, but customer service made it clear that the mobile fitting issue could not be dealt with through a local Halfords Autocentre. From a customer perspective, these are simply different fitting options on the same Halfords website checkout. It is not reasonable for the customer to find out only after a failed fitting that the mobile side appears so disconnected from the rest of the business. I was also told the complaints team is not public facing.
Had I known how difficult the recovery process would be if something went wrong, I would have used a fixed centre or gone elsewhere for the tyre fitting. Mobile fitting is convenient in theory, but in this case the follow up process has felt too disconnected and slow, and the aftercare has not matched the seriousness of the issue.
There should be a clear option to take the vehicle to a local Halfords Autocentre if/when a mobile fitting appears to cause new issues that were not present before, rather than leaving the customer reliant only on another mobile visit. Given the issue appears to have arisen immediately after the original fitting, I would have had more confidence in a centre inspection than waiting for another mobile appointment.
Based on this experience so far, I would be cautious about using Halfords Mobile Tyres again. A follow up visit has now been booked, and I hope it resolves the issue, but the process so far has been properly frustrating and has not given me much confidence in the mobile aftercare setup.

I had a puncture & was happy to learn that Halfords offered tyre fitting at home. The tyres were a good price, as on offer.
I was able to book an appointment within a day. The fitter arrived first thing, job finished in about 30 mins.

Booked a mobile tyre fitting with halfords which was easy to do. Tyre cost was reasonable compared to competitors.
Mobile fitting service could do with a more specific window which is why I knocked off a star. If you do not pay for a specific window you get given 8am-8pm which is fine but I expected a more specific window to be given to me on the day of the appointment when they send tracking information since they know who they will assign to which job and what their schedule will be, I did not get this. Instead you get a call from the technician about 15 mins before they are going to turn up.
The technician was great: friendly and easy going. When I had ATS come for a mobile tyre fitting a few months ago one of their technicians was great and another gave me attitude. This guy was chilled about where the car was parked and when I asked him if he wanted me to move mine back so he could fit his van in he said no it was fine. He also did not request to keep my keys like ATS did, not that I'm fussed if they are needed but I preferred being able to hold on to them. He was done very quickly which meant minimal disruption to my working day. Would happily use Halfords again next time I need a tyre replaced.

Selling a flat battery which was second as you sent the wrong on first time.Then being told you need to book a Diagnostics appointment as the car still wouldn't start. Out you came again to tell me this time I needed a electric Diagnostic as it sounded like it could be a starter motor which you don't do. So £99 later a really nice RAC man told me i Didn't need a starter motor I needed a new battery, saved me a lot of money by knowing what he was talking about. At last out came a very nice man from Halfords who knew what he was doing, a new battery that was the right one. A Very knowledgeable, helpful person that has my car up and running in no time.
