Did not finish the job
Had 4 tyres fitted on my drive by the Leeds depot. As soon as I started driving the car it was obvious something was wrong. Car was wobbling and vibrating. Immediately took it to a garage who found that the tyres had not been balanced. Halfords left my car in an unsafe state and did not finish the job. Uncaring and reckless behaviour that could have had serious consequences for me.
Nextbase IQ 4K dash cam QR code not showing
Chris the Halfords Poole mobile expert, arrived on time. He fitted the Nextbase IQ 4k in about 20 minutes. However he did not install the app in step 1. So he left the dash cam (DC) with rotating arrows on the DC. This meant no QR code showed.
I had to reset the DC and eventually (1 hour) got the software and DC working with the help of the AI agent.
Halfords should train their mobility experts to do a complete job, not leave the 'technical bit' to be completed by the customer (with the assistance of the manufacturer).

£375 SCAM FROM HALFORDS!
Extremely disappointing service, I have contacted several times regarding the mobile fitting appointment for my Nextbase iQ 2K dash cam, unfortunately the installation appears to have been left incomplete, as the dash cam does not power on at all. Before leaving, the fitter repeatedly assured me that everything was fully completed and told me that I only needed to scan the QR code on the box once I went inside my home. However, despite multiple attempts and leaving the car running for several hours, the dash cam still has not turned on. I asked the fitter several times to confirm the installation was fully complete because this device is extremely important for me and my family. The fitter appeared to be in a significant rush, spent only a very short amount of time working on the vehicle, and left immediately. I also attempted to call him afterwards, but my calls were not answered. I paid £75 for a professional mobile fitting service, so I am extremely disappointed that the dash cam remains unusable after installation. I was urging for a follow-up inspection as soon as possible, another fitter being arranged if necessary, confirmation that the hardwire installation and power connection had been completed correctly, horrifically unprofessional!

Charged £234 for a Non-Existent Appointment
Paid Halfords £234.38 on 13 May 2026 for a mobile tyre fitting appointment scheduled for 20 May. Payment was taken immediately.
No confirmation email was ever received, which I only discovered when trying to check the appointment details on the day of fitting.
I then spent hours being bounced between chat support and a phone line that repeatedly disconnected whenever I selected the mobile fitting options. Eventually I was given an “urgent” escalation reference and assured somebody would investigate whether the technician was still attending that day.
Nobody contacted me.
After waiting at home all day, I finally managed to get through to somebody at around 4pm, only to be told there was no booking on the system at all despite Halfords already having taken payment a week earlier.
The “solution” offered was a refund taking 3–5 working days, followed by me making an entirely new booking and payment. In other words, Halfords expected me to temporarily absorb nearly £500 because of their own system failure.
No attempt was made to honour the original booking, prioritise a replacement appointment, or offer any meaningful goodwill gesture for the wasted day and repeated failures in communication.
To make matters worse, I was then incorrectly told I could submit a complaint via email via the Halfords website. After wasting further time searching, there appears to be no complaints email address available at all, only phone and chat support.
The most frustrating part is that throughout the process, different agents appeared not to properly read previous notes or understand the issue, resulting in repeated explanations and conflicting information.
Taking payment for a service that apparently never existed in the booking system, combined with the complete lack of coherent customer support afterwards, is unacceptable. I therefore cannot recommend.

If I could give this -5 stars I would! The only thing good about this is it's easy to book, but don't be fooled as even that turned into a right S*** show! Booked, paid and turned up 10 mins before my appointment as requested, only to be told the van hadn't arrived and could I wait 2 hours, no I couldn't so we agreed I'd go back after my appointment, went back 6 hours later.
Seemingly straightforward two new tyres fitted, attitude and grumpiness levels from the two staff was unprecedented, and one had some bad customer service in my time so this says a lot. Driving home my tyre pressure light and a light I had never seen came on, there was no point in going back to the garage as it closed before I could get there, so first thing this morning I call the number on the invoice, to get put through to the wrong place twice, I then decide maybe the chat will be better, it was not, first they argued that the tyre pressure light which had not been on before getting be tyres with them, was not their fault, then they say take the car back, the other warning light says not to drive the car, so I tell them and she said as a matter of urgency the garage would call ASAP, this was at 8am, by 3pm I called the garage, got through this time but wish I hadn't!! Some to the rudest person I can recall speaking to in recent history. Explained the situation to which he argued it wasn't their fault and then told me the other light was spark plugs which isn't what it said in my manual! I did tell the woman in the chat I have a disabled son and we often need to get to the hospital in the middle of the night so I need a working, safe car, Halfords couldn't give a toss, they had my money, they broke my car and they don't care, AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE YOU LIFE DEPENDS ON IT, BECAUSE IT ACTUALLY MIGHT, AVOID ANY PERTH GARAGES THAT ARE NOW HALFORDS. I now have a car with lights on saying I can't use it, when I need to use it, and no means of getting it fixed, I will never use this company again and will make sure everyone I know doesn't either.

So I went online found a fantastic deal on 4 Goodyear tyres. Spent many hours searching deals.
The star is for the pricing and the call centre who tried to fix the issue the “mobile expert” left my car with.
The tyres were fitted on the drive at home but I’d not payed any attention to what the “expert “ was doing.
Well the following day I needed to remove one of my wheels I had an issue with my brakes. (Not connected to the tyre fitting) Being a trained HGV technician myself I like to look after my own vehicles. Unfortunately the wheel nuts had been over tightened by the “expert” resulting in me not being able to loosen the locking wheel nuts off.
Obviously at this point I decided to take the car to the local Halfords service centre (ilkeston) where I explained what had happened and they came out to see if they could help. The technician managed to release all but one of the locking wheel nuts. (The one that I couldn’t do) He noted that ALL four wheels were over tightened.
So I followed his advice to contact customer services where they tried to help by booking an expert to come out and replace the damaged locking wheel nuts. (Or so I understood that’s what was supposed to be happening)
Again unfortunately when the new “Expert turned up to try and remove the damaged locking wheel nuts he pointed out he wouldn’t be replacing the damaged item. ?They weren’t damaged prior to fitting)
When he left I then called the help line again and that’s where it got interesting because clearly the new expert that came out to rectify the mistake the expert had made were mates. He went back told his manager that I had damaged my own LWN and there would be no replacement.
Forgot to mention the new expert removed the LWN by forcing the key on with several hammer blows a minutes worth I reckon.
This guy went back told his boss it was me that damaged it. I hadn’t, that’s why I immediately took it to a Halfords as evidence before I attempted to remove it any further.
The service centre said that the wheel nuts were over tightened in all 4 wheels.
The matter still hasn’t been resolved. Not even a sorry but instead called the customer a liar which I’m not.
So just be warned Halfords mobile experts based in Derby are NOT experts. The service centre mentioned they’d had another car in that the experts had damaged by over tightening the nuts.
I also have video footage of the original expert putting the nuts on with an impact gun which is a massive NO, NO.
I may well share the footage on social media with the evidence for everyone to see.
New battery fitted.
Ordered product online, no issues, easy to book an appointment for technic to fit a new battery, was helpful, polite, fitted new battery, and left area clean and tidy after completing the job. Would definitely recommend.
