Great 4 night stay
We had a great 4 night stay. Room and all areas of property were clean and well maintained. Staff at reception was helpful with dinner reservations and arranging transportation to cruise ship port. Reception staff and staff in breakfast room were all friendly and made you to feel like a valued guest. Great location for visiting all the main attractions of the city and just around corner to great gelato. We would definitely recommend to friends and family.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Portoghesi Hotel. The location in the historic part of Rome is beautiful and perfect, most places are in walking distance. The staff was super friendly and always helpful ( i.e. when we asking for a kettle, or when adapting travel itinerary after a train strike was announced). I would absolutely recommend a stay at the Portoghesi.

A lovely experince
Having stayed at many "luxury" hotels, we can say that Hotel Portoghesi is one of the best. Most important in making our stay pleasant and memorable is the pleasant and helpful staff including the hotel manager, the front desk, the lovely lady who provides breakfast and the staff that makes up the rooms. The daily fresh linen is an ultimate luxury. Contrary to all the tourist guides reporting minimal Italian breakfasts, the varied and ample breakfasts lay the foundation for the day. Well done all.

A Great Place to Stay
Wonderful staff that are very helpful. Great breakfast and a very comfortable bed. The rooms are a little worn around the edges but the location is central to everything and the staff make it a worthwhile choice.

Wonderful location and hotel staff! Very thoughtful, helpful, considerate. Very good accommodations, updated bathrooms, extremely clean. Quiet yet within walking distance to all the major sites.

Great People, Great Location
Very helpful and nice staff. The rooms were clean and quiet. It was close to everything. For a first time visit to Rome this was an excellent place to stay and will plan to go back on my next visit.

The perfect central location in Rome
We chose your hotel particularly for your central location and for recommendation from friends who always stay with you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you, our only negative point being that our room was on the small side (no 22)
However, your breakfast was excellent and when we had need of customer service we met with only friendliness and efficiency. We shall return when we come to Rome again.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location
Lovely hotel in a perfect location. We were there for 8 nights, and were able to walk everywhere. The suite looked out over the hotel entrance on a busy street but the bedroom itself was very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was renovated and very large by Roman standards. There is a lift (although tiny) which was great for my husband. Breakfast is included and served in a delightful rooftop room and terrace. This hotel is traditionally decorated, cute, clean and the staff all speak fluent English. Very helpful (they arranged our airport transportation, called taxis, etc). Great value for the price/location, and would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Location - Amazing Staff - Amazing Hotel!
Myself and my fiancè travelled to Rome for the first time on 30th October 2022 for a total of 5 nights. Hotel Portoghesi made us feel immediately welcome upon arrival and explained everything about the hotel and the local area - despite the face that we hadn't even asked! The management of the hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly, they are always ready to help when needed. The rooms are incredibly clean and well taken care of. Each room has a small flat screen TV which has Netflix and NowTV installed - this was great for lazy mornings or before bed. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the maids changed our bed sheets daily and also provided us with fresh towels etc. The breakfast (despite being free) had an amazing selection of freshly baked croissants, yogurts, cereals, fresh sliced meat, fresh bread, eggs, fresh fruit and coffee made to order (in addition to fruit juices etc). The lady who serves breakfast is extremely friendly and kind. She made every guest feel welcome at breakfast and even remembers everyone's coffee orders! If you stay at Portoghesi, you will see what I mean! Breakfast is served on the roof terrace which is covered by a conservatory, however you can sit outside if the weather permits. We did this on several occasions as the weather was 26 degrees celsius in November! The breakfast terrace boasts beautiful views of the local area too. The location of the hotel is also brilliant - a 3 minute walk from Piazza Navona - which is commonly referred to as the tourist's centre of Rome. There are many fantastic restaurants in the local area and a tourist really is spoilt for choice. On each evening of our stay, we walked from the hotel to different places each night to find a bar for a drink - including, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona etc. All of these places are close by and can be reached easily by walking. If it's your first time in Rome (like it was ours) I would highly recommend staying here! The staff speak English and can help plan your trips. The location is so brilliant that you will see everything necessary in the time you are there. Highly highly recommended and we will be returning here in the near future! Rooftop Breakfast!
Our stay was wonderful! Friendly service at all hours of the day, room cleaned each day, and the rooftop breakfast was particularly spectacular! The only reason for 4 stars (instead of 5) was that the shower was a bit too small for our preferences.

Lovely hotel with awesome staff.
Had a wonderful stay. Enjoyed starting our days with with a roof top breakfast and having a quiet retreat to to recharge from our busy days in Rome. Front desk was super helpful and their recommendations enhanced our visit. All the staff I met where kind and friendly.
