Excellent staff. Outstanding location. Walking distance to many major sites. Great breakfast. Room clean. I am coming again. Again, staff very professional and very real. Nice people.

We stayed for 6 nights. Lovely experience, especially the graciousness of all the staff. We got lots of help choosing restaurants.

We are 4 friends who stayed in the suite. 4 single beds were set up for us which was perfect. We all managed to sleep well. We had fresh towels and linen daily and the room was spotlessly clean.
The hotel is perfectly located for visiting the amazing sights of Rome. There are lots of excellent bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Breakfast was very good with a decent range of food which set us up for a day's exploring. All the staff we met from front desk to the cleaners and especially the lady at breakfast were all so helpful. Will definitely return.

Warm hospitality, friendly staff, extraordinary location right in the center of Roma. Simple one room accomodation with a very tiny shower but was workable. First rate breakfast included. Terrific restaurant next door.

We loved the location of this hotel. It was close to all the sights, but tucked away from the busyness of the city. The room was charming, clean and nice. Breakfast was delicious. We would stay here again!

Been to Rome many times; planned a last-minute stay and our regular "go to" wasn't available. Booked here based on internet reviews, both for our arrival in Rome (4 nights) and then again for our outbound trip for another 3 nights (in a few weeks from now). So happy we did! Location couldn't be better. Staff is beyond accommodating and cordial. Rooms basic, but immaculate, quiet and comfortable. Just great...

A gem of a hotel in a quiet street away from the huge numbers of tourists. Good location, great staff attitude and the best breakfast in town.

Hi! I had problems with the internet and had to leave. Which is fine! That happens. The front desk told me to email the manager. I emailed and didn't get any response? Please reach out to me.

EDIT: This is a very unprofessional response. I ran many speed tests, and got speeds of 5 mbps. My video calls all failed. My work told me that I had to find new accommodations. Aside from wifi, the hotel is actually quite lovely and affordable, so I don't see why I would change? I think it's unbelievable that the manager would comment here but not respond to my email?

Hello!

I checked in late Sunday night. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is wonderful.

There was just one fatal flaw: the wifi was not strong enough for me to do video calls for work. I tried to work with the front desk to improve it, and I also tried both the office and the terrace, but the problem remained.

As I am a business traveler with some important remote meetings this week, my work instructed me to find new accommodations. I was able to find a new place to stay with speeds more than 30x as strong.

I had booked a stay until Saturday, and I would like to please request a refund for the unused days.

I would be happy to recommend this hotel with all my heart to tourists, and to write excellent reviews on any sites you request. It simply did not meet my needs as a business traveler.

All the more reason to be shocked at the response below. My video calls had slow connections and frequent outages, to the point of being unsolvable. I worked with the front desk on multiple attempted solutions, including the hotel's own offices. I had two hours to find a new place with fast wifi before an important meeting. It is okay that it doesn't have fast wifi -- the city is 3,000 years old!

What's not okay at all is Marco's response. To ignore me, deny the problem, and question my motivations after the email quoted above. Totally shocking, totally unaccountable, totally theft. I did not receive the product I paid for.

There is also proof of this. I would encourage Marco to do a speed test right now, and share a photograph. I would not be surprised if it is better now, but an upload speed of 200 mbps is orders of magnitude faster than any accommodation you will ever find in your life. This is not a realistic or technologically-informed answer. It is more likely to reflect the maximum speeds offered by the provider than the results of any speed test.

I don't understand why we can't solve this as a customer and a business?

It is the second time that we spend our Roman holidays in the ‚Albergo dei Portoguesi‘. We like this hotel very much for its location. the friendliness of the receptionists and all the other personell as well as the the nice and clean rooms, last but not least for its breakfast on the terrasse.

We love the Hotel Portoghesi. Efficient and freindly staff, and great location.

Great location. Staff service is exceptional! Buffet breakfast is amazing offering many selections. Rooms are very comfortable for an extended stay as they offer all amenities.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Portoghesi! The crossaints at breakfast were incredible - we loved the rooftop balcony. AC worked well in the room and it was clean and comfortable.

Cozy little hotel that is a stone’s throw away from everything. One can simply walk to at least three of the major spots in Rome: Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. Bus stops are at 3-4 minutes of walk if you need to travel further away. Our room was a bit small but I guess that’s okay since we spent most of our time outside enjoying Rome. Bathrooms are way too small, almost no room for movement while you’re taking a shower. Breakfast is decent. Overall a very nice experience. :)

This our third stay with the Hotel Portoghesi in 25 years. We stayed with them in 1997, 2006, and now 2022. It is the perfect location to explore the historic center of Rome. Absolutely professional and friendly staff who handle the logistics of your travels with ease and have given us many good tips on dining and sightseeing in the area. It’s the perfect three star hotel.

We spent five nights at Hotel Portoghesi. The furnishings are not the newest, but they are charming and well-kept. The whole hotel is very clean and pleasantly air-conditioned. The location in the historic center of Rome is sensational, from the hotel you can easily reach almost all sights on foot in all directions. A special highlight is the beautiful roof terrace, where you can have breakfast. The staff is super nice and attentive. We had an issue with the toilet flush which was fixed promptly. Thank you very much! We will be back!

Wonderful hotel - clean, spacious rooms; wonderful, helpful staff; and a lovely breakfast on the roof terrace.

We loved staying at the Hotel Portoghesi. The location was two blocks from Piazza Navona and a short walk to the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps. The staff couldn't have been nicer. We liked the convenience of buying water bottles at the front desk. The bathroom and shower were great, and the room was large and lovely.

Our fifth time at Portoghesi. We’ll run, great desk personnel and a super location. We love this place and the quiet area it is situated.
