Absolutely LOVE this place
Absolutely LOVE this place. Authentic and 100% worthy it. A bit pricey but you do pay for the shipping as well.
Great customer service
Great customer service. Have been shopping at Japan Centre for years, and switched to ordering online during the pandemic. They definitely aren't the cheapest, but their wide range of Japanese groceries can't really be matched elsewhere. Dispatch and deliveries are reliable and for the most part have been quite prompt, depending on how busy they are. I've been very impressed by their customer service, very responsive and helpful!
Nicely wrapped, promptly dispatched, but too pricey
Efficient web mail order, with great plastic-free packaging and Royal Mail. But the confectionary products are poor value.

Extortionately over-priced
Honestly the products are nice, but it’s an utter rip off. 120g of kitkat cost £13 !!! I accidentally placed many items in my online basket assuming they would be bulk sized ... when my order arrived it was clear that everything is horrendously overpriced. I can’t believe that they get away with these prices!!! Import duties & shipping included it’s still a massive mark up on the goods as bought in Japan. I’ll never ever shop here again. It’s cheaper to shop in Japanese stores and get my stuff sent over via tenso.
Fantastic ramen kit from Japan Centre…
Fantastic ramen kit from Japan Centre via Restokit. such a real taste of Japan . We live in Cheshire and cannot easily get this quality of Japanese food, even in Manchester and especially during lockdown. Excellent service and quality. The 12 hour broth was marvellous , ramen wonderful and all the bits were heaven. Thank you, We will be ordering again this week!!

An excellent first order…
An excellent first order experience.Unlike some,I thought(after comparing some other sites online)that the prices were fairly reasonable,though some things were more expensive,that was offset by others being,in some cases,a lot cheaper.Items arrived quickly and were well packaged.Being able to use the 100 bonus loyalty points on my first order was good,as was the extra 10% off.
All in all,an excellent order,carried out well.

On time delivery and wrapped with care
Delivered my items within the period of time they advised, even during lockdown, and everything was adequately wrapped and protected. It’s these small things that make their e-commerce offering 1000 times better than so many large/ high street contenders. ありがとう
Is it just me or are the prices a lot…
Is it just me or are the prices a lot more expensive than market price than previously? Also sale items are often items that have a closer expire date. (Their shops in London are not the best either)

Good experience! Stuff came quite quick and all of it was in the box. Getting 100 points to start of with is nice too thank you for that!
I do like them but you have to be patient!
I do like them, the range and variety of products are second to none. But I have also noticed, they are more expensive than others and in regards of both of my orders - delays between ordering and dispatching. I might be spoilt by next day deliveries (after all, its 21st century) but to wait 4 days for order to be dispatched, that's bit disappointing.
My order was ordered on the 30th of…
My order was ordered on the 30th of September and it said it was going to be delivered on the 2nd of October. Then on the 1st i got an email that confirmed it was going to be delivered then. Still hasn’t come and it’s the 13th of October and we have had no contact as to what’s happening. The link to the DPD website says “ there is a problem completing your request”. Definitely not ordering from there again. It’s also supposed to be frozen so hope it still will be if it arrives.
Poor delivery sours the experience
They did refund very quickly, but I'd rather have had the ordered items than the money 😅 (hence neutral rating).
When charging £7.50 delivery you'd expect things to be properly packed but it doesn't appear to be the case with bottles. Two out of two times now we've had orders broken. The first time a bottle of plum wine was smashed all over the bottom of the box (despite being in bubble wrap).
My partner got in touch and was refunded but given we'd ordered a sake set it really let down the whole point of the order.
Then a few weeks later, as a surprise, I ordered her another bottle so she could finally have some only to then contact DPD (delivery company) to find out that yet again the order has been damaged and would not be delivered at all and I should contact the sender.
What they do manage to actually send you in one piece is great, but I'm not sure I'll risk it a third time on the spirits - food only from now on.

Sadly, the JC is going down hill.
The quality and attention to the sushi has done down, and it is not prepared well (I refer to the whole pieces of sashimi particularly, but it like to affect other products).
The range of products has also materially reduced.
