Absolutely amazing service by Jeakins, we moved from Laindon to Benfleet and had our initial survey completed before our move to provide us with a very reasonable quote, our moving day got delayed a few times resulting in almost 2 months later than expected, this was no problem for Jeakins they were very understandable and just asked us to call as soon as we had a definite date.

The guys that came to move us were fantastic, nothing was too much for them and all very polite and really nice people to deal with, they worked exceptionally fast and took so much pressure off of us on moving day I don’t think it would of been possible without them.

Excellent service from Jeakins. They moved us from two houses to one on the day, fully coordinated, very friendly and helpful, completely took the stress out of the moving experience. Thoroughly recommended.

Moved with jeakins 10 years ago and the quality of service is still just as good! From the start I have had jeakins support in organising my move to make it seamless! The man in the office went above and beyond to make sure everything was set to go on the day of moving. The team of men who came in the morning were on time and we couldn’t fault the hard work they did even though in the heat! Thank you to jeakins for making my home move as stress free as possible.

UPDATE:

Having been asked to remove my Trustpilot review before they would deal with my claim (I refused), I finally received an insurance claim form from Jeakins having complained to their trade organisation.

I filled in the forms and sent the insurer the photos of the damaged items. I had previously sent the photos to Jeakins but they denied receiving them, so I sent them again. The insurer was very fair, and he paid me out in full on 10 October, less £50 which the insurer said would be paid to us by Jeakins. That money still has not arrived in our account.

This has been a difficult time for us, made worse by precious items either lost or damaged. My advice to everyone is to claim, they are insured after all, and if anyone tells you to remove your trustpilot review, please don't!

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Over 20 years ago we used Jeakins and they were perfect. This time we had to empty a large house, put everything in storage and wait until our house was ready. The delivery came over several days, by agreement. It was clear from the start that most of the boxes were not marked according to the room the contents came from, so they were all dumped in the garage, piled 4 boxes high, with other things like radiators placed on top. I pointed out I am only 5', and asked them to reduce the height, they didn't. On one occasion they sent the wrong container, and when the man in charge phoned, we were told we had to wait another week for delivery. I asked to speak to them and demanded they delivered our furniture that day, we do not live very far from the depot, and that is what happened.

I emailed them to say that on delivery it was obvious certain things were missing, such as a shelf from a black metal shelving unit that was due to go into our utility, and the other shelving unit had been dismantled on delivery and dumped in the garage once it was obvious it had been broken somehow. I wrote and told the company about this straight away, sending them photos, and they did not even acknowledge receipt of my email.

Since unpacking the mountain of boxes - and we had to ask a handyman to lift them down for us - some of the items that we believe were packed by Paul, were carefully wrapped and he left us little notes saying 'unwrap me' and so on on the packing when he wrapped fragile small items, but as we continued to unpack, other items were broken or missing, a decanter set presented to me in 1986 is half missing, so are other items including half of a Victorian dinner set belonging to my grandmother. Where is the shelf of my modular bookshelf - that is still missing and now I am having to call in a carpenter to have another made. There clearly is no point in contacting the company again, as they took thousands of pounds from us and having done so, they refuse to reply to our emails. I could go on, but you get the picture. This used to be such a great removal company, but be warned, if our experience is anything to go by, they are no longer worth the money you pay them to break your possessions or lose them. You are only given a week or two to unpack everything and claim on their insurance, but as we were not moving in right away, we were unable to claim in that time, so we have lost out. They did know about our shelving units, but ignored our email, and we would never go near their company again.

Would highly recommend Jeakins removals. Lewis, Jared, Matthew and Tommy all did a great job helping us move house from Basildon to Wellingborough. The team were on time, very efficient, friendly and funny chaps. Were able to move heavy furniture with ease. It was our first time using a removals company so was a bit apprehensive initially, however the guys made us feel relaxed and we just sat back and watched them do their thing. They packed and unloaded the truck with great speed, not damaging any of our stuff or either house in the process. Not a scratch in sight after they were done. Can't thank the team enough. As well as the office support - all involved were super helpful and friendly to deal with. Would highly recommend Jeakins to anyone looking for a removals company.

An outstanding service! From the office staff Michelle and Vicky, to all the guys, including Harry, Lewis, and Carl and apologies to the other guy’s names I have missed but all of them were polite, nothing was too much trouble, everything was treated with care. We had the complete service including packing, storage and unpacking from Birchington in Kent to Brentwood. Over several days. It was extremely difficult as it was for my mum who couldn’t understand that moving from a large two bedroom flat everything would fit a small one bedroom bungalow! Their patience, kindness and understanding with her was wonderful. I would not hesitate to use this company again and highly recommend them for any of their services. Thank you so very much Jeakins!

Jeakins Removals had been recommended to me by my brother.
I phoned them to enquire about removal and storage the next day they arrived to give me a quote.
The 2 guys that came to remove my furniture and put into storage were very courteous and explained how they would wrap certain items and put into the storage boxes.
Three months later when I moved into my new home the 3 guys that delivered my furniture were exactly the same very courteous and professional. If anyone asked me to recommend a removal company I would definitely recommend Jeakins.

Jeakins team have been incredibly helpful with the complex task of sorting through many storage containers on site, and then transporting the remainder 400 miles, doing a fantastic job of the unloading, and just all a pleasure to work with. Really appreciate the very high standard of work and such first class guys.Thank you!

We would highly recommend Jeakins. We received our quote and had them on standby until we (finally) exchanged and got our completion date – completion was 6 days after exchange and the communication and booking of services was great. We used their full packing service and removals. The packing team were excellent, we were so confident in them that we went out for a few hours. They wrapped everything very carefully and there were no breakages. The removal team the following day were equally brilliant. Everyone was smart, polite and efficient – we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

From start to finish, Jeakins were fantastic for our move. We had a rather rushed process through a difficult to complete chain, and the team at Jeakins were wonderfully flexible and incredibly helpful, both with the full packing service they offered (worth every penny) and the service we received on moving day.

Would happily recommend them to anyone looking to move.

This company don’t care about their customers at all. We have sent 2 emails, left messages regarding broken items, furniture left in the garage!! No one has bothered to reply. We do not recommend this company at all!!

Danny, Paul, Reggie, Ben and part assisted by Gavin and Luke helped us from Leigh on sea to Suffolk . They were awesome. Teamwork at its best - in fact you need to start a podcast on how you interact and motivate each other !! Funny banter that relaxes the tired stress out families 😂Positive and helpful on a day that can be stressful. They worked late but still didn’t leave until we were happy with everything. Thank you guys you’re a credit to your company!!!

Excellent, beyond compare. We were panicking with a 6 business day exchange and completion, Jeakins were measured, not phased by the time line, inspired confidence from the outset, did exactly what they said they would do and more. On the day of the move they were timely and nothing was too much trouble. They had a can do attitude, inspired confidence and took control, don’t go anywhere else!

From start to visit we had a brilliant service. The team on the day were great, respectful of our belongings, cheerful, efficient and fast. We couldn’t get our wardrobes and bed base up the stairs and Michelle gave a good price for them to be taken and disposed of.
Would absolutely recommend the team were a credit to the company.

We used Jeakins previously when moving house. This time, we were renovating our home, therefore we needed to put some furniture and household items into storage for a couple of months. Michelle from Jeakins came and evaluated the amount of boxes and packaging we needed. The men who came and removed the boxes and furniture were courteous and respectful with our property. They were also the same men who brought our items back.

I dealt with Vicky regarding payment and any queries I had. She was always most cheerful, polite and helpful.

Everyone I've spoken or dealt with from the Company have been great. I would definitely recommend Jeakins and use them, should we need to, again.

Paul and his team at Jeakins moved my mother in law. The move into her bungalow didn’t go to plan as it hadn’t been cleared as expected. Paul and his team were excellent, they cleared up sheds to be able to start emptying the van, helped to see if that could get the heating working and also moved things about in the van to leave items until last while we were trying to clear some of the rooms.

We really needed a team that weren’t pressurising us to get it all in, as we just couldn’t with the way it was left. They were super understanding, but this also meant they would have been late back to the yard.

What an excellent team you have there, they are a credit to your company!!
