Topped off recently with an invitation to take part in a track session at Knockhill, which was a brilliant well organised evening.

I purchased my bmw 1000rr new from
Dundee. It was in for a 2k service and have mixed reviews of it.
I was to get a Heath check at service.
Didn't get it.
Was to get bike cleaned before pickup
Didn't get it.
And as arranged to pick up on Saturday
They couldn't find my service book.
So can only hope they did the service.
Just out for a ride they have not adjusted the chain or oiled it would not take bike there again
If you Buy a car from John Clark Tayside, don't expect any help or service when things go wrong.
I purchased a 22 plate 8 series from them in November 25, the car was transported down to me from Scotland to Bath. Roll the clocks forward to 1 month ago and the front brakes started making a noise. As I was miles from Dundee and the car was "approved used" I took the car to a local BMW garage to be looked at. On inspection I was told the front Pads were only around 30% worn, but were in pieces, one side had delaminated into 3 parts and it was this causing the noise. I asked if the pads were faulty, on inspection their view was that the fitting was to blame. They told me they were dangerous and had to be replaced. The cost to replace the pads was just under £400. Looking at the pictures provided by the dealer D Lovett, this was not just wear, their view is that there was no lubrication used when fitting the pads and the callipers were not cleaned, this could have meant grit behind the pads had caused them to bend and delaminate.
I spoke to John Clark and exchanged a number of emails with them. I didn't get a reply to the first email until I chased and even then it didn't even contain an apology, just a blunt refusal to help. Their answer is there is no way they could have known at the point of selling the vehicle therefore it is my problem. This is the first time I have had such rude and blunt service from a BMW main dealer. The damage to these pads was not normal wear and tear, so much for any approved used checks / service.
The experience I had with D Lovett helping me solve the problem was exemplary, if you want to buy an approved used BMW I recommend you go their instead, it will be worth the cost of shipping the car.
I will be going to the motoring ombudsman, the car is less than 6 months old and Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, used cars bought from a dealer must be fit for purpose, of satisfactory quality, and as described. If a fault occurs within the first six months, it is legally presumed to have existed at the time of sale, making the seller responsible for a repair or replacement. When I pointed this out in more than one email they conveniently ignored the point - they clearly don't care about the law any more than they do customer service.
All staff have always been very helpful and informative and my recent car purchase was no exception Mainly this time Gareth .Jackie. Richard who made my experience a pleasure. All were very professional.

Do not buy from John Clark when there are issues with the car they don't want to know and will do everything possible to not do what they know they should.

Recently purchased an R1250RS from here. Ryan westwater provided a very good service, answering all my questions, quite a few, providing a walk around video and put my mind at ease about making the purchase over a long distance ( 340 miles ). The care and attention given to the bike, including 2 brand new michelin road 6 tyres, was obvious throughout. Ryan pulled some strings to get my bike to me ahead of time too. I would definitely have them at the top of my list for any future purchase.

Asked a sales person about details of 2 cars he mentioned but which were at a different branch. He said “ I’m not rain man “ presumably meaning that he he didn’t carry all that information in his head. Totally unhelpful and didn’t offer to go inside to look at the details on a screen. Left and travelled to another branch a fair distance away. Worth though where a helpful sales person was able to go over details resulting in a purchase. Never again Dundee used cars branch.
Once the sale is made promises are not kept and emails are ignored this seems to be a norm with both BMW dealers i have dealt with they obviously know they can get away with anything. BMW customer service is the worst i have ever come across i assumed its up to them to sort issues out with bmw dealers but they seem very reluctant to get involved to help customers so i am questioning what are customer services for ? BMW UK SHOULD BE LOOKING AT THESE DEALERS AND THEIR CONDUCT WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE !
Took my bmw to the john clark BMW garage in dundee.
Overall experience was decent with getting booked in fast and fixing my issue fast.
Claimed it took them 40 minutes to diagnose yet I told them excatly what the issue was so it would of took 10 mins at most. They also remotely accessed my car so I assume they new the issue before I arrived.
From here they quoted me 495 to fit a 30 pound battery. So essentially they where charging about 450ish for diagnostics and fitting the battery. When I said I would take it to a local garage to do it they then knocked it down to £399. Funny that.
Anyway when I went to collect it, the staff member behind the desk wasn't very welcoming especially for a showroom that was so beautiful with 100k cars etc, I would just expect to feel welcome.
When the technician gave me my keys back again never explained anything it was just a here you go bye.
I also requested information on a service plan but again nobody cared to go through that with me so I will take my service plan idea elsewhere then.
Fixed my issue that I new needing fixing in quick time so can't fault that.
But overall experience could of been better to potentially land a longtime customer.
Sales staff were professional, sympathetic to my needs and very helpful. Process was fairly quick and easy to understand. Communication with me was excellent and the sales environment was comfortable.
I have also dealt with the Service staff, and they have been equally professional and helpful. Overall, a positive experience.

Having bought a used BMW bike online I'd be having no hesitation whatsoever in recommending John Clark Motorrad highly. What a sound bunch of lads..and lasses, Ryan and the team were consumate friendly professionals who oversaw the sale, service, and delivery of my bike to me in a superb manner. I'm a 12hr round trip away from Dundee but Ryan could not have been more helpful, keeping me updated at every turn, nothing was too much bother and it was a lovely experience from beginning right through to the bike being on my driveway, so Thankyou very much to all the team at John Clark Tayside and Ian who safely delivered my bike. Cheers now! Martin

The worst experience ever.
I bought the approved used motorcycle from the branch in Dundee in July.
When the bike was delivered I discovered that it is faulty. It was reported on the second day after the delivery. I had received a phone call from service department and I was told that there is nothing to worry about and refused to repair the bike. I decided to return the bike in this case as it is in not up to satisfactory quality and I was told that there is no ground for rejection without even checking the bike. After I made a official complain and I filled the rejecting form, I received a phone call from Simon the Manager who admitted that they have made some mistakes in handling my case and I was told that he was happy to accept rejection. He said, “give me a call when you receive V5 and will organise a collection of the bike.” Four weeks later I phoned DVLA and I was told that DVLA haven’t received any application to register the bike in my name. I sent an email to the manager to clarify the situation and until today’s date I haven’t received any response. The have ignored my calls and emails and I got stuck with the faulty bike which is probably not safe to ride. I will be reporting the case to Trading Standards as the dealer don’t respond to my emails.
I hope you learn from my experience and think twice before you commit to buy anything from this dealer.

Went in to look for a more family suitable car, was very relaxed no pressure visit. Was offered a test drive and given time to think about purchasing. Dealt with 2 guys in the showroom Lee and Scott and both extremely helpful and took time to go through the right car for me and show me all the car technology when I went in to collect my new car.
