Pointless Warranty
Pointless Warranty
I bought a new Skoda Kamiq from this dealership in December 2020. Really happy with the car, but not the dealership.
On Sunday 26 February 2023, the car continually lost power when I was driving and a couple of warning likes came on. Still being well within the 3 year warranty, I called the dealership and was told the first available date to have the car put through a diagnostic machine and repaired was 25 April, or I was given the option of driving the broken car down to the sister dealership in Dundee on 15 March.
I was also told I'd have to pay up to £140 to put it through the diagnostic machine just to find the problem and establish if it was covered under the warranty.
I ended up going to a local one-man show garage who used a diagnostic machine and fixed the issue, thankfully for only £155, which would have worked out cheaper than the fuel and diagnostic cost if I went to Dundee.
It is totally pointless to provide a warranty when you cannot have your car seen locally for what turned out to be a simple repair for nearly two months. If anyone could do without a car for 2 months, they probably wouldn't need one in the first place.
This is either a tactic by the dealership to put you off using your warranty, or if this is genuinely the best service they can offer then it is absolutely unacceptable.
If you want a car that comes with the peace of mind of a usable warranty, don't buy from here.

Worst car dealership ever first time I…
Worst car dealership ever first time I left my audi a8 in as I hear a noise going over bumps . I told them I thought it was a drop link . 2 days they had the car and it had full audi extended warranty. They never fixed it or checked rest off suspension. Now the strut has failed and another day in with them and they say its not covered as it broke on the 12th Dec 2021 . My car was in with them at the beginning off Nov 2021 with this problem. Absolutely useless
