Fantastic service and timely delivery

I bought a KBparadise V60. The Keyboard Company were the only people selling a US ISO layout in the UK and they had exactly what I wanted in stock. I placed the purchase about 9pm in the evening and the order was confirmed in the morning the next day. Two days later my keyboard arrived and Helen, a customer service manager contacted me to check that it had arrived okay. Fantastic service overall!

Highly recommended

The customer support answered me after ~30m. I was able to add an extra item to my delivery with a quick paypal invoice. They where nice, friendly and quick. The package arrived to Hungary (!) in 24 hours after my order (with TNT delivery). I was just amazed, never received a package this fast before. So satisfied of their work. Highly recommended.

This used to be a five star company…

This used to be a five star company easily, but I suspect that something has happened- I've bought a lot of expensive keyboards from them, service has always been amazing, but I just had a truly one-star experience.

An expensive mechanical keyboard, which I bought less than a year ago, has developed a fault, rendering it unusable. I contacted them via their website contact form last Friday, asking for advice. No response. Yesterday morning, I emailed them for advice, no response. Yesterday afternoon, I phoned them- and was hastily fobbed-off.

I was told that they lost all the website contact emails, and that someone would email me the same day (yesterday) to help. Obviously, no-one bothered doing this, so no response. Again. Three methods of contact, and no useful response.

Now, I don't know if the company is going down in flames, or the return rate of this particular item ("Matias Mini Quiet Pro") is so high that they're backsliding on supporting buyers. Certainly, googling finds plenty of forum threads about switch failures, one even asking to do with four broken keyboards, after manufacturer warranty replacements. Either way, a little honesty would have been appreciated- being fobbed-off and ignored isn't great.

I would have severe reservations about buying from this company in future. This is a shame, they used to be utterly brilliant, and their service unbeatable. However, this feels extremely shady. If you do buy, for over £100 purchases, consider using a credit card, or Paypal if lower, for some measure of consumer protection.

Edit:

No, Bruce. You didn't deal with them all. I kept trying and eventually got a response which was to tell me to solder in a new switch, at my own expense. At the time, I was not a mechboard nerd, so this was a pretty poor response to someone with a dead and expensive keyboard. Had I known more about my consumer rights at the time, I would have raised merry hell- but sadly I just crept away and ate the (considerable) financial loss.

Hey Anton.

This is so sad. I am so sorry.
Did you not get a call back on the weekend? Pretty sure we replied on Monday.

It is true, that particular Matias model had some issues, and we did get some returns. But we dealt with them all and the new Matias switches are much improved. Matias as a company support us fantastically well in this too.
This is all part and parcel of selling specialist keyboards and - having been doing it since 1989 - we are getting quite used to it.
"Going down in flames" sounds interesting, I'll let you know what that's like should it ever happen, I'm imagining something like a Hollywood movie, would I be Bruce Willis - Chewing on a cigar and wearing a dirty vest?

As a regular customer, you do understand we sell some really nice keyboards, some old, some new and some innovative and quite rare keyboard designs? It's all great fun and our customers generally like what we do. We are happy selling keyboards, even when there is a bit of an issue, we see it as part of the challenge.

Shame we lost you along the way, I hate it when that happens.
Would still love to hear from you if you're over it yet.

Bruce.

Truly exceptional service

Truly exceptional service. Bought a keyboard that had a few problems and every time I was professionally helped and got a new replacement. Also great number of products to choose from. Would definitely recommend!

Unclear policies and poor customer service

I have purchased several items from this company, and delivery has been fine, but after purchase service is awful. I will avoid doing any business with them again in the future.

Hi Paco

As far as we can tell, you never have been a customer of ours. We are in the UK, there is someone with a similar trading name in USA. Or could you have used a different name?
