UNTRUSTWORTHY

TWe purchased an AEG cooker hood from Kingdom Appliances, which was described on their website as being in good condition with no markings. However, when it arrived, this was not the case. One of the chimney panels had a visible mark, and another had clearly been poorly spray painted, indicating a noticeable manufacturing defect. We raised our concerns with the delivery driver at the time, but were told to contact the office and sort it out with them. The driver then removed our old cooker hood for recycling and left.
When we contacted the company, we explained that the product did not match the description on their website. Not only was there a mark on one panel, another panel was clearly defective. The company offered £50 compensation, which we found completely inadequate as it would cost £134 to replace two panels. There was another identical model listed on their website with visible marks for £200 less, which we would have chosen had we been willing to accept such imperfections.
The compensation offered does not reflect the difference in value or the condition of the item we received. Moreover, their website said the delivery is free to most places in mainland UK. However, when we entered our postcode, which is in Lancaster in the north of the UK, we were charged £45 for delivery. Based on this experience, I would NOT purchase from this company again. I suggest you avoid them, they do not respect their customers and cannot be trusted.

Options Provided: When you alerted us to the marks on the panels, we immediately offered a full refund and a free return collection. This would have ensured you were not left with a product you were unhappy with.

Resolution Chosen: You ultimately chose to keep the cooker hood and accepted a £50 partial refund as a gesture of goodwill. This was processed and issued to you promptly.

Transparency: Our delivery surcharges for specific postcodes are set by our couriers and are clearly displayed at checkout before any purchase is finalized. We aim for total transparency in our pricing and descriptions.

We are a business built on integrity, working with you to find a solution that you were happy to accept at the time. It is disheartening to hear that you feel this way now, as we believe we acted reasonably and respectfully throughout the process.

What a great experience

What a great experience! The extractor fan was new and unused, packaged in the original packaging and it worked great. But probably the best part of the experience was receiving a call from an exceptionally friendly driver to check that the delivery was convenient. He let me know when he was going to arrive. And then to receive a call afterwards rather than just a link to check that everything was okay with my purchase was quite exceptional.

Excellent customer service

I ordered a Canopy hood extractor fan for the kitchen, which was faulty (no fault of Kingdom Appliances). I was called by the team to arrange collection of the damaged item and replace with a new one, which was done the following day.

It's all about what suits them. Ordered washing machine, they called to organise delivery and offered the very next day - too soon as old one would need disconnecting and removing. What they didn't say was next time after that would be 2 weeks out. Then after confirming, cancelled the day before and delayed another 2 days. Then, delivered it at 6am so the driver "could avoid traffic". I wish I'd gone elsewhere.

dishwasher purchase

Bought a graded dishwasher which was half the price of other websites (had a small dent on the outer casing which couldn't be seen when fitted )
Delivered within a couple of days the driver showed me the fault asked if I was happy or would have taken it back
I was over the moon !! excellent value and service this is my 2nd purchase from this company and I highly recommend them

On time exactly when they said it would…

On time exactly when they said it would be nice and earlier appliance was as described if anything a little better than I imagined, complete all accessories, original paperwork user and install manual. Recommended seller save £££ off brand new especially since this was an under counter fridge and you don’t actually see any little scratches etc.

Second time of using

After ordering from KA 18 months ago, I decided to use them again for my washing machine and tumble dryer appliances. When the items were delivered the driver was fantastic and brought them up a few steps and into the house and let me check them over before signing. Happy with purchases, any damage was as described for a graded items. Only thing to be aware of is trying to organise delivery with my work schedule and when they have vans coming to the area, so took about a month to sort, but that was fine for me as I already had working appliances.

Awful experience THE WORST

Awful experience. Ordered a hob. Builders told me it was too big. Contacted KA for a return. They accepted and arranged the return collection. Called me a day before and said they are cancelling as I had requested the return 1 day late yet the latest returns date was set for that day as per their t&cs. I explained this and they then agreed for a collection. An hour later they emailed me back cancelling this for the second time. They were extremely rude both on the phone and on email. I emailed formally stating my rights under consumer law. They ignored me and cut all contact. I contacted my bank and trading standards who managed to get my payment back. KA then phoned to collect the item. No apology nothing. Disgraceful.

Thank you for taking time to leave us a review of our services.

We can confirm you had purchased a combination AEG hob hood on our website on the 7th of September which was promptly despatched to you from our warehouse on the 9th of September. On delivery, you had inspected the hob hood and signed our Proof of Delivery stating you were happy with the item and it met the condition described on our website.

You then reached out to us on the 7th of October, almost a month after receiving the item, bringing to our attention that you had mistakenly purchased the wrong hob size. We advised you of our Returns Policy – that you had far elapsed the 14-day return window and we would be unable to facilitate a collection for refund given the timescales involved. However, we still offered you a fair resolution by means of an exchange with a potential model that was the correct size for your kitchen, which you rejected.

Following our offer to exchange the item, you opened a claim with your payment provider fraudulently claiming the item was not as described and had arrived to you damaged. You sought a full refund. At this point, we decided to proceed with the collection to safeguard against any losses on our part.

It is with regret that you did not consider the value of double checking the hob size before committing to purchase the item from us. And it is extremely disheartening to have had a fraudulent payment dispute opened against us when we made an earnest effort to resolve the issue with you directly both amicably and fairly.
