A very stress free process, pay the money fill in the details the get the report within a week from start to finish.

The surveyor called before giving me the report to discuss and give me the opportunity to ask questions. The report was written very quickly yet still adhered to a high level of quality. One of the cheaper surveys I found yet they still met all of my additional requests (to check garage, roof & loft). Highly reccomended!

The booking of the homebuyers report was swift and easy and I recieved the report just a few days after the inspection. The report is easy to read and understand. Can't fault the service in anyway and would definitly recommend Miller Metcalfe.

An excellent service. I was given a clear outline of what the surveyor would be able to do and when the report would be available. The colour coding of the key points made the report easy to understand and help when making judgements about such a major purchase.

Great initial contact and very quick to organise a survey to our new to us property which was a bonus.

But the surveyor was pretty much a waste of time, He saw things that we had spotted ourselves but things like drains and even venturing into the roof space was just a peep into the loft "due to health and safety because of insulation" he couldn't actually have had a good look up there.

There is 3 drain access points down the side of the property with 4 screws holding them down but apparently he didn't have the equipment to look at those?
He did lift a manhole further away though.
Also derogatory remarks about decking being out of fashion and the house didn't have "that lived in look"...... Well yes! , it's an empty house.!!!!!!!!!
kitchen doors and drawers were chosen at random to see if they "operated smoothly" , all really technical stuff!.
All the window handles were checked and some were stiff which may require replacing in the future!. I want to know more in depth stuff instead of checking £3 window handles.

Also noted down that the fascias and soffits needed a clean, really major info that's needed when spending £350k on a new house.!

Next time, if there is a next time I won't bother and save myself £600!.

I suppose it depends on who you get to actually survey your potential new house, some might be on the ball and find all sorts and do a proper thorough job that most people expect, others might just have a quick look round opening and closing doors and drawers etc and off they go.
If that's the case, sign me up and I'll take a job!

Fast reliable service from the whole survey team. It’s a shame the Surveyor couldn’t get into more areas of the house but that was the owners fault for having too much furniture etc.

Poor service, Had the report take place on the 21st and still have not had the report back. Was emailed this week saying we would have the report no later than today and surprise I get an email saying they apologise for the delay and that the report is still with the surveyor who will call me, No call and now they are not replying my emails, Holding everything up now, Avoid

Fantastic. Originally wanted to go for the most expensive but the lady I made the booking with looked at the details of the property online and said based upon its condition we did not need to spend all that money on the structural, so she recommended the home buyers (Cheaper). Very honest of her. The survey came through by email and in the post. It was complete with photos, of the internal damp, basement, loft eves, garden, grade ii listed path (just in case we need to maintain it. All very useful. The surveyor also made himself available for me to call and discuss some of the recommendations he had made. He said there was nothing that would have stopped him from buyer the house which was very reassuring. Really good service. Would highly recommend

The surveyor was not helpful in explaining me the findings and was giving no definite opinion and gives indirect opinions. Not able to make a decision based on the survey. I felt i wasted my money by going with Miller Metcalfe
