Poor company

If I could give a zero-star rating, I would. They were digging to replace pipes and had to put a ramp out. The ramp was too high and damaged the underside of my new car. They refused to accept it was their fault. They will no longer talk to me as I said I was going to seek advice they plucked photos out of nowhere saying they did everything right they broke the rules of their permit from the council, which says no carriage way incursion they are a poor company with poorly trained staff.

new gas service

I need a new gas service to my new home as it's never had any,I'm fitting the cavity meter box and digging the trench,they are digging the public footpath 1 meter deep and connecting, how can they justify charging me £3450? If they arrive at 8 they will be finished for 12 absolute extortion

Absolutely amazing service & engineers

Absolutely amazing service & engineers. My carbon monoxide alarm went off at 2am so I called the emergency helpline number and an engineer arrived within 15-30 mins, made it safe & capped everything, put a referral in for me with the company. Then had a call next morning at around 10.30am to say engineer would be coming to check all my gas appliances in the afternoon, he arrived arround 4pm and stayed for 3 + hours, did loads of checks, identified and fixed a small gas leak from my cooker, fitted me a new carbon monoxide alarm in a better & higher up location (meaning more efficient for discovering any carbon monoxide in the air. So helpful. Couldnt thank them both enough. Didnt get the first engineers name but he was just as helpful but the 2nd engineer which came I know was called Liam so thankyou so much to Liam!! Much appreciated!

Excellent service

Fantastic service. Gas engineer arrived within an hour of my call to report a leaking gas meter. Polite, helpful, efficient service and the engineer also checked my neighbour's gas meter to make sure mine was an isolated leak. Very impressed, and very grateful for the quick work.

Weekend rescue

At the weekend, there was a gas leak from the meter. Northern Gas attended quickly firstly with one engineer who was very efficient, well mannered and good communication; then, due to me not communicatin with Octopus correctly, another engineer called a bit later with a new meter. Again another friendly efficient chap who worked in the pouring rain to get the new meter fixed. Many thanks

I'm mad I have to give it one star

I'm mad I have to give it one star. These are the worst ever. Dug all the pavements and roads up, 2 sets of traffic lights which take about ten minutes to change. knocked on door saying they're turning has off Thursday or friday. Never heard anything. A week later they put a card through to say on this date they're turning off the gas, they tell you to make sure someone is at the property. Stayed in all day and nobody turned up, nobody contacted me. Sent an email and customer service said they'll turn the gas back on After 3.00pm and I said they haven't even turned it off yet. I contacted management who said there had been a problem. He went on to say he had sacked them all. They disappear and then show up again.We are now three weeks later and they're digging up the neighbours garden and digging across the street.
It looks like fraggle rock. The wind blew all the yellow fences over and blocked all the pavement. The holes were exposed so anyone could have fallen in.
When they do talk to you they mumble and you can't understand them. There's been lots of complaints about them. They don't know what they're doing.
The main problem is no communication. Nobody tells you anything.There's no bosses on site to talk to people. Terrible.

Property Damage and Inadequate Remedial Works following Gas Maintenane.

Northern Gas Networks attended the property to carry out gas maintenance work over a few days and advised that it would be left exactly how it was found.

There were several issues with returning it to its original state.

Incorrect Replacement of Decorative Stones:
The decorative stones originally present were replaced with stones of a completely different colour and type, bearing no resemblance to the original material. This was only partially corrected after a complaint was made.

Unsafe Paving Slabs on Driveway:
Several paving slabs, which were lifted and relaid by NGN’s team, are now loose and pose a clear safety hazard. Despite assurances from the digging team that these would be reinstated properly or replaced if necessary, NGN is now refusing to carry out this work. They claim the slabs were already loose before the work, yet have produced no condition survey or photographic evidence to support this assertion.

Misleading and Unprofessional Conduct:
The Operations Manager attempted to present photographs taken after the fact as though they were taken prior to the commencement of works—an act I find highly unprofessional and misleading.

Inadequate Resolution Offer:
A £25 “gesture of goodwill” was offered, presumably to bring the matter to a close. If NGN truly believes they are not at fault, it begs the question why any financial offer would be made at all.

Top Team

While cleaning drains I splashed pune disinfectant on the bottom of the gas pipe and noticed a large mass of bubbles. I rang at about 7 o'clock and they were here in half an hour. It was decided the pipe needed replacing and vans appeared from nowhere. The team worked till past 11 o'clock and were back at 8.30 the next morning to make sure my wife's hairdressing business wasn't unduly affected. Thank you to all involved.

This company attended my home when I had a gas leak,they put in new gas pipes it was a big job but I can't praise their work any higher they put carpet back down cleaned everything,up after them .they did the job that the council never showed up to do.thank you NGN

Had new gas pipe put in from the street, pavement was removed from the front of my house, upon putting the pavement back down was tight up to my concrete path, it cracked and they removed it and replaced it straight away, got the name of one what was Dave didn't get the name of the other one, great set of blokes, top workmanship! Highly recommended

Northern Gas attended our property when our supply was disrupted

Northern Gas attended our property when our gas supply had been interrupted due to gas works being undertaken nearby. The communication from NG was excellent and the gas people who came to check that we were warm enough and to change the pipe work and meter box were so courteous. We were informed of each stage of the process and everyone involved arrived on time and completed their work with care and efficiency. They even provided garden services and reseeded our lawn beautifully. Thanks to each and everyone of you. It’s such a refreshing change to have works done so well!

Gas Meter Move - Steven, Brandon and Shaun

Northern Gas networks attended my…

Northern Gas networks attended my property following a British gas service and it determined that the supply pipe to the meter was plastic inside my garage and needed replacing with copper pipe. From the call centre to all of the guys who attended their service was outstanding. Arrived on time and did the job with minimal disruption or delays. Thanks and well done to all the people involved.

Suspected gas leak in our home…

Suspected gas leak in our home this week; Kurt the engineer arrived within 45 mins, was great to deal with, confirmed we didn’t have a leak but understood why we made the call. He went to great lengths to ensure that we were confident with his findings. Very happy!

Working in my street recently

Working in my street recently. Missed them when they came to reconnect my Gas (Friday). Rang them early Monday. Swift response and got me back on by 1pm. Can't fault them. Doing a difficult job sometimes in horrendous weather. Fair play to them.

Very happy with work replacing old gas pipes

Having been informed that Northern Gas Networks were to replace old pipes I was rather concerned as I have a pattern concrete driveway. Having been informed of how they intended to perform the work I was happy and relieved as they redirected the pipe to avoid digging up the driveway, instead going under the lawn and digging up a small area of the garage floor.
All of the work was carried out efficiently and to a high standard. For example, they removed a small area of turf on the lawn, replacing it afterwards, avoiding the need to re-seed the grass.
The team were efficient, professional and friendly in carrying out their work.

All new piping to homes in valley court liversedge

The team has been putting new piping that services the houses in Valley Court Liversedge for the last 2 weeks. Great team we have had here 100%. Can't fault. Care and considerate in our homes and outside.Times estimated spot on. Many thanks Barry Prince No 1.
