Hopefully the vermin that work in this money grabing thieving department will all loose their jobs and be unable to find future work.
Beware of driving through Nottingham…
Beware of driving through Nottingham City centre. They issue fines for driving in bus lanes which are not clearly marked. The bus lanes there aren't a different colour to the rest of the road and the sign posts are abysmally inadequate.

I have pasted and typed the correspondence of a bus lane fine below:-
"Please provide details of your challenge *
Dear Sir
I cannot deny that I drove (my son is registered keeper of vehicle but I was driving) into a bus lane, but this was due to roadworks when trying to collect my daughter (final year at Nottingham Trent Uni) from her accommodation 18 Royal Albert Court, Russell Street NG7 4GT. There was a diversion sign stopping us from continuing our journey but then no further guidance. The car satnav tried to continuously tell us to turn round and go down the closed road so we had to abandon its directions. My sons phone maps told us to go down this street, and I noticed a small white car in front do exactly the same. In 3 years of my daughters stay in Nottingham this is the first time I have made this mistake.
I have paid the £30 penalty but would appreciate some consideration of the fact we are not experienced driving in your city and put in an awkward spur of the moment situation in unforgiving traffic please.
Kind Regards"
I simply received the reply:-
"Nottingham City Council have received an Email from a third party (me) on the 23/07/2021, the contents of which have been noted.
Please be advised that we have received your penalty charge notice and can confirm this has been fully paid. As the charge has been fully paid this has been accepted as an acceptance of liability and therefore the charge is now paid and closed.
Yours sincerely"
My reply:-
Dear ???????
Thank you for the letter to my son.
You have stated in the letter "Nottingham City Council have received an Email from a third party (me) on the 23/07/2021, the contents of which have been noted". Do I understand from this terminology that you do not intend to take any further action, not even an apology for the inconvenience, a statement that action will be taken in future to improve guidance around roadworks or consider a part repayment of the fine (you further state below it is closed)? If you are trying to encourage people to visit Nottingham and it's attractions this is not the way. We were booked to visit Nottingham Castle and caves but had to cancel because my wife had to isolate, I do not think we will rebook!
Kind Regards"
This prompted a response which did include an apology for any inconvenience caused but as I paid in full they are "unable to consider your representation". Still no comment on the roadworks or lack of guidance around them. If you intend to visit Nottingham City the park and ride is very good, but I would not drive into the city unless absolutely necessary.
1st and last time I drive here
Charged for a bus lane fine that isn't clearly marked.. who is in charge of Nottingham Town centre redesign? A 3 year old with a crayon by the looks of it. One way system is backwards...
Anything to squeeze money out of people.. yet the potholes are getting bigger by the day. Priorities people!!
I don't know whats worse the potholes…
I don't know whats worse the potholes or work done on them...in my town we've had an awful lot of potholes form on pretty much most roads and there was one the size of a telephone box that you couldn't avoid as it covered half of the road and you couldn't stop and avoid it as its a 40mph road, council came out to fix it and they've not even filled the hole to a straight level so even now when you go over it your car bangs and its same for all others they've filled they don't even fill them level so there is still a drop and half of them have gave way and forming again, point in doing a job if you aint gonna do it right might as well of not bothered as you've got to come out again filling all the exact same ones!
When you fill potholes you should fill it so its straight and level with rest of the road surface like surely this is common sense? you have to wonder if they do this on purpose to keep garages in business as there is no way you can mistakenly do this poor of a job across every pothole...latest road they've filled has about 30 potholes all way down it looks like a old minefield and driving down it feels like you're driving across a bouncycastle! instead of just redoing the whole road they just fill them so the road aint even level and car tyres still dip down so a complete waste of time.
Robert Demaine-cooper - Housing Aid
I have had the pleasure of working with Robert throughout the pandemic to aid in the homelessness housing crisis this city is currently facing. Robert has always been exceptional at his job, he is always professional and has a genuine passion for his job, he makes it his mission to work with us to find people the right home that works for them no matter their circumstances. As an outside organisation who has worked along side many members of staff in Local Authorities i have never found it so easy to build a lasting relationship that works and is efficient. I just wanted to thank him for setting a standard that we will now look for and promote in order to have the success we have had in rehousing people because of him. He is a credit to his organisation and i hope he progresses further to develop and adopt his way of working into more areas within local authorities. Amazing service.
zero Stars
zero Stars. Dreadful organisation. Just look how much money they wasted with the Robin hood energy scheme, it shows how appalling the management of services is.
