A hearing test and trial appointment at the Nottingham Hearing Practice usually takes around 2 hours. In order to ensure the appropriate recommendations are made, it is important that when we assess your hearing we truly understand how your hearing affects you. Sometimes a hearing impairment could simply be caused by a build-up of wax and if this is the case we can arrange an appointment for it's safe removal. Holistic fitting method: If hearing impairment is established, your Audiologist will provide information about the latest intelligent and connected hearing aids stocked by the Nottingham Hearing Practice. We provide hearing devices from the leading hearing aid manufacturers, such as Phonak, Oticon and Starkey in a range of styles. So, that means we can ensure we find the best solution for you. At this point, we differ from other providers, as we are able to fit you with instruments immediately. We then allow you the opportunity to try them free of charge, for a couple of weeks or more. Of course, we’ll make sure the hearing aids are programmed to your hearing loss and give you a basic orientation on how to use your new hearing aids. After a few days, you may well realise you need some adjustments, but we will be on hand to help. Life savers!
What amazing customer service! I work for the NHS and both my ears were blocked with wax which left my hearing aids useless. The NHS are not currently able to perform the removal of wax due to COVID-19. In desperation I pleaded to the Nottingham Hearing Practice on recommendation to see if they had any room to fit me in so that I could get back to work and hear again. Within 24 hours of my first contact I was able to get a cancelation. Thank you so much Steve for your patience with the emails and texts ( I couldn't ring due to the hearing loss!) and Jo for making me feel so at home and safe. You were amazing and I can't tell you how grateful I am. I really thought I was going to be deaf for evermore! I have been singing your praises to whoever will listen. If I am ever in this situation again I wouldn't hesitate to request an appointment with you.

Excellent Practice - terrific service.
I attended the Practice for the first time this week and found the whole process to be very professional and proficient. From the first welcome through the door to the final 'goodbye' the whole experience was pleasurable. And the treatment (ear wax removal) was quick and easy, with Steve taking the time to talk through all elements in advance and making sure I was fully comfortable with the process. I was out the door about 20 mins after entering and at no time did I feel I was being rushed through. I had time to ask as many questions as I wanted. I will be returning again (but not too quickly, I hope!).

Outstandingly good service
Outstandingly good service. To receive a very helpful reply to my emailed request for an appointment within a few hours, and on a weekend, was impressive enough. To then receive a long, informative and very re-assuring phone call from Steve later the same day was astonishing. To find myself walking home at 8.30 am on the Monday morning, with my worrying inadequate hearing fully restored thanks to Alan's clever intervention was almost miraculous. All this while scrupulously observing social distancing and other COVID-19 regulations. Thanks so much to both of you. Really, really impressive.

My first visit to the Beeston Hearing Centre a year ago was for wax removal. This was done very efficiently and effectively by Jo.
Following a number of GP appointments, a hearing test at the QMC Audiology department and a private consultation with an ENT specialist, I reluctantly conceded that hearing aids were a necessity. Based on a recommendation from a friend and my earlier experience of wax removal, I decided to visit the Beeston Hearing Centre, admittedly with a degree of trepidation.
My concerns were immediately alleviated at my first appointment with Alan, who, after giving me a series of very thorough hearing tests, answered all my questions and explained his recommendations for suitable hearing aids. I took up the offer of a free trial, which proved to be quite a revelation to me in terms of the hearing improvement and the discreetness of the hearing aids. After a couple of return visits for some fine tuning, I ordered my Oticon hearing aids, with which I am so far very pleased.
Private hearing aids are certainly not cheap but, given the unhurried and thorough personal service that Alan provides, the expertise and patience with which he put together my prescription and answered my many questions, together with the fact that I have a pair of technically advanced hearing aids with a 5 year warranty, I feel I have got value for my money.
I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending the Beeston Hearing Centre.

Amazing ear wax removal with Jo & Steve!
I recently suffered with blocked ears which for me was unusual. I would wake up and not be able to hear, once I’d given my ear a rub it was fine and I’d leave it at that. Last week I gave it a rub and it wasn’t fine so I sought the help and advice from Jo & Steve. From start to finish they were professional and extremely knowledgable about how and why this was happening and to my surprise my ears were completely full of wax. I started having treatment to extract the wax but due to how hard it was I had to use oil for another week before coming back for a second attempt. During the week Jo & Steve were in contact with me offering help & guidance which I felt was above and beyond what they needed to. When I went back for the second treatment the overwhelming feeling of satisfaction was amazing as I could hear again! Both Jo & Steves perseverance with both my ears was appreciated and didn’t go unnoticed. The whole experience was made so much easier with their commitment and empathy. They are extremely passionate about what they do and I am so glad I have found them. I would highly recommend anyone to go treatment, you will not be disappointed with the service.

After having two failed attempts with removing ear wax by irrigation. Was recommended to The Hearing Practice. I was seen very quickly by Alan he was so professional and kind, within 10mins he removed two large lumps of wax. If it wasn’t for the coronavirus could have hugged him. Highly recommend.

Highly recommended for ear wax removal
I can’t speak highly enough of my experience here of ear wax removal during the Covid-19 pandemic. From my first phone call to the manager Stephen, who was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, to my actual appointment with Jo the friendly, empathetic and highly competent audiologist, the whole event was flawless. I felt fully confident in their set up during the pandemic with a mask and sanitiser supplied for myself and mask and gloves for the practitioner, specified areas for my bag and coat and full cleaning between each client, with only one client seen per hour. Fabulous! And now I can actually hear for the first time in ages! Thank you all!

Ace place - ace service !
If you need hearing aids I don't think you will find anywhere better than Nottingham Hearing Practice - pleasant surroundings, friendly welcome and staff who will give you all the help you need to choose the right aids for you. You get time to try different aids before you buy without any pressure to make a decision. Every procedure is carefully explained and courteously carried out.
During lockdown I needed an adjustment to my hearing aids but because I am self isolating, Alan came to our house to do this for me - his vehicle kitted out as a mini surgery !

First Class Service
Excellent service today. Attended with my husband who was having wax removal. With Covid19 on everyone's mind, all necessary precautions were well executed. Hand Gel and masks supplied for clients, and staff were equipped with necessary PPE. Designated spaces for clients and their partners, but still offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere.Especially liked the email confirmation which covered exactly what to expect when you attend.

Earwax removal
I called this company a week ago and had a very informative chat with Stephen about earwax removal. He was very friendly and not the least bit pushy. After this conversation I made an appointment. I went along today. Their establishment is very nice and modern. it looked clinically clean as a surgery should do. The staff are very friendly and professional. Alan who carried out my procedure explained everything to me so that I understood what he would do and why. I had the micro suction which was great, painless and quick. I would thoroughly recommend this company.

Just attended my appointment
Just attended my appointment, and I’m more then amazed.
Quick story my right ear got blocked last night I couldn’t hear a single thing, I tried picking it out needless to say I made it just hurt more. I tried washing it with water, olive oil nothing would help at all.
Then the morning after I called up this place in Beeston, and I could not fault a single thing.
After a few minutes on the phone I’ve had my appointment for the same day, and as I arrived I’ve had a warm welcome from the team and have been called through straight away.
Alan who had treated my ear has explained to me every single thing that he was about to do, he shown me every piece of equipment, he has had a smiley doing it all all the way.
Needless to say my ear feels amazing, my problems gone, and it was worth every penny.
Guys your amazing thank you very much take my 5*

The Experience
The ear clinic was easy to find & I was greeted warmly by Alan.
His room was super clean, slightly clinical, with nice artwork of the inside of an ear hanging from the wall. Alan was sympathetic, understanding and made me feel at ease immediately
He explained simply what was going to happen and that he would do his utmost to help.
The Procedure
Alan explained all of the equipment in the room and what he would be doing step by step. This gave me absolute clarity and comfort in what to expect since I felt some mild anxiety about what this was going to entail.
First, he asked if I would like to see what he could see as he looked in my ears. He could show me a magnified version on the screen in front of me.
Alan explained that this wax had been there for years and years, compacted down on top of more and more, so it becomes hard, dark and very difficult to remove by yourself
Reality
Alan explained it might feel tender at times as he might need to scape away at my funky old ear wax and to let him know so he could ease off if it did. My confidence in him helping me was huge because of the way he treated me.
He managed to clear both ears completely and I sense he was as relieved as I was since it took longer than the average set of ears apparently! ;)
My face was aching from smiling as I shook Alan’s hand vigorously, he was smiling too and I think he understood because as I was leaving I was almost crying, overcome with the joy of sound.
I drove home smiling
I had to turn my stereo down
I enjoyed sounds
Very very strongly recommend and I would go back because this was an investment NOT an expense!
