ĺ applied for this and was instantly given £1200 credit limit. dont know how as credit was in bad shape.
my pay day changed so i had to change the statment date (statment 7th Jan pay 24th Jan and so on) and it went down hill from there.
THEY changed my statment date again saying i had done it. i hadnt. so not only did i have to pay 24th Feb i would have to make another payment 18th March. i spoke to them on the phone as i didnt receive a statment for April. he said has my statment date as reverted back to the original it takes 6 weeks so there wouldnt be a statment. if this is true how can they send statment 24th Feb and again 18th march.
upto now i have paid £645 to them and i still owe £1056. i put a letter of complaint in in february i have had acknowledgement to say there looking into it. but still waiting.
i think the ombudsman should be looking into how they run this company

Avoid Opus credit Card.
Avoid Opus credit Card.. got the card to build my credit rating up. Got given a £450 limit. Payed over half off the last month and they lowered my limit and have now blocked my card. Can’t understand why thought it would be good idea to pay half the balance off but no. Also my credit score has now gone down due to this.
They are a joke avoid them

DO NOT USE THESE.
Right, so I got a card with this company, the card didn’t turn up until 2 months after being accepted. I then received another letter a week later saying my limit had been withdrawn. A month after, I received a text saying they’ve used my debit card to pay off the balance of £300! I checked my banking and it was multiple random transactions amounts to what seems like gambling companies!? I rang them and they said they know nothing about it but will look in to it and get back to me. Dreadful!!!

Got my card to improve credit BIG MISTAKE
Got my card to improve my credit....turns out its actually goes against me as a negative indicator on my credit file...they're very sorry of course. Now they have me on the line for owing them money they are run like something out of arthur daleys car lot. I had my card stolen these clowns had the new card ....that i waited 10 days for cancelled yep cancelled before it had even been delivered . Then tried charging me interest on my outstanding balance when i had no means to pay them no card no money and couldn't even buy products for a job so lost a weeks work Finally i call them to make payments and start getting lip off some girl who for some inconceivable reason imagines talking down to me is a smart option, because I asked a question about when the payment clears. Shouldn't have a credit licence. Sadly there are some fantastic staff who i have spoken to within this company. No obvious assessment of staff in carrying out the job so inevitably let themselves down .
These guys seem entirely incompetent.
These guys seem entirely incompetent.Ω
My wife just received some letters about an outstanding balance, even though she’d never opened a card with them. The details they have about her are incorrect, even though they’re saying the account was opened online and proof of identity was taken at that point. They’ve clearly done no due dilligence on her identity at all, or they’d have known that the details were incorrect.
Their assumption is that someone ‘intercepted’ the card from her post box. Despite this, they insist that the only way to communicate to her about the results of their fraud investigation is also by mail - the only communication channel which they’ve already ascertained has been infiltrated.
1. Know who your customers are.
2. Communicate with them in a secure way.
Shouldn’t be that hard.
Not a great card or company
UPDATE: I've been looking all over my account but no way I can now find how to set up payments of the full balance at the end of the month statement!
I'm also very annoyed that despite the savings they make with e-statements and e-documents (no stamp or paper required), statements are available for just 6 months and if you ask for some back dated statements is £5 each??
PREVIOUS REVIEW - They don't have to inform you by law AND THEY DON'T of course, if the direct debit 'expires' if you didn't use it for more than a year (I was manually make payments)... Everything was solved but not easily, as payment first bounced etc. etc.
HOWEVER, I finally set up a new direct debit over the phone AND SURPRISE SURPRISE they set it up with 'full balance payment' & not with 'minimum payment' [as it was before], and 'NO', they NEVER ASKED me about it, or made it clear, SO THEY TOOK OUT from my ACCOUNT MUCH MORE THAN EXPECTED !!!
Over the years, also their interest rates has increased so much that it's a card useful for just temporary requirements!!!
