Poor Online Service - Stop using Australia Post
I will not be ordering again through Petbarn's Online Service unless they stop using Australia Post. Package was not delivered despite being at home. For items that are essential - such as dog food - these should be delivered through a reliable courier. Pet Circle is ALWAYS on time and I will get a phone call from the courier if they can't locate the address.

Waste of time being a member. Price tags have retail price and ‘Frequent Feeder’ price. But unless you’ve bought recently, you don’t get any discount! No point being a member. Go elsewhere and save money!

The puppy school at petbarn(Booragoon) is very helpful. Elle is a great instructor with a very pleasant disposition and is patient. She answers all our questions and doubts thoroughly.
She also went above and beyond her call of duty and retrieved my car keys which fell into the gutter on the road and was beyond my reach. She patiently used a belt with a hook and retrieved it. Otherwise i would have had to call the RAC. It only further goes to show her helpful nature. She is an asset to Petbarn. Thanks Elle!!
Overpriced Rubbish!
Overpriced rubbish - don't buy the Pet One poultry breeder - your chicks will die in one night - $179 and it's a piece of crap. The ceramic heat lamp doesn't come with a thermostat - get real! The lamp is set so high the heat doesn't make it to ground level and there's no way to adjust it. The so called brooder is just a guinea pig cage and there's no facility to attach the lamp to the top of the cage which is extremely dangerous. The cage doesn't even come with a cover. According to the leaflet the unit comes with a thermostat - where's the thermostat??? There is no thermostat and the lamp in the leaflet is completely different to the piece of crap included in the unit. This is the only brooder Petbarn has - a complete fail. They said I can have a refund and now I have to drive 84km to return it. Are you going to pay for my petrol Petbarn? Fat chance!

Website required in order to purchase Veterinary Royal Canin products, reordering isn't possible because it automatically adds twice the amount of the previous order. Then the minimum delivery quantities are ridiculous. I purchase 12.5kg Bags to get more value per KG, I do not need 2 bags or more when my 12.5 Year Old Golden Retriever likely won't be around in 6 months (each 12kg bag lasts 3-4 months).
Delivery Times are ridiculous sometimes in excess of 2 weeks. Phone support takes 4.5 hours to get a return call. Online Chatbot doesn't forward to a human.
The Petbarn Staff admit their website is rubbish, and they can't even place an order for you.
My personal bad experience- i will…
My personal second really bad experience- i will never buy from them again. I just put my membership card in the bin. I bought 2 little catfish. The guy took about 10 -15 min to catch them and i think one got a bit damaged in the process. Whe i put it into our tank at work it just sat in one spot, never moved and died after 2 days. Petbarn has a replacement guarantee if your fish die so i took it back together with some tank water so they can see that the water was ok. All readings were good but i was told that my ph which was perfectly neutral was to high and i would not get a replacement until i fixed the water. She tried to sell me a product to adjust the water. I was totally surprised because i have had fish tanks for many years and i keep my water levels pretty perfect and i never heard that catfish need acidic water. Anyway, i added the product to reduce the ph, but i only used a quarter of the amount given on the bottle because i woried about it being to acidic for my other fish. I then had the water re - tested. Now i was told my water was way to acidic. But they tried again to sell me a product to change that. i used a powder to bring up the ph and had the water tested again today. Now apparently it was too alkaline, more alkaline than the water was when the fish died. Apparently i needed it to be neutral - which was exactly what i had to start with. But they were happy to sell me a new fish, but not to give me a replacement. After stringing me along for almost 2 weeks wasting my time and constantly trying to sell me products they went back on the promise that they were going to give me the replacement fish for free as soon as i changed the ph (which was perfect to start with). What a ripp off. They are just lying to you. I will never ever shop at Petbarn again.
Excellent customer service
The customer service is always brilliant.The store manager at Wynnum Petbarn (Dan) went above and beyond helping me with my fish tank filter. He has a lot of knowledge and helped me make a decision with the options available.
Genuine animal lovers
I can't speak highly enough of the online team at Pet Barn who have gone out of their way to find us specific vet recommended dietary meals for our dog.
It has been out of stock everywhere for months but knowing our dog really needed it for his health, the Pet barn team were really helpful in tracking some down for us.
You can tell they are genuine animal lovers who actually want to help you.

I've been going to Pet-barn Bayswater store for at least the past 4 years mainly buying the same 20kg Blackhawk dry dogfood product. Other than inflation price rises the product has been increasing substantially over the past 3 years. Now in the store, the prices are confusing! Regular feeder price or retail price. Having been explained by store reps, why would you introduce this pricing system. Regular feeder??
(2 months!) I only need 1, 20kg bag every 2.5 months, therefore I cant be on the regular feeder program, so I was told the price would be retail price which is a remarkable 34% $ more.. But wait? When i questioned this with the sales staff the fact that the price online is at the lower point, they said they would match the online price no problem..
This interests me being in the retail domain for 30 years because it's obviously introduced to take 35%+ more $$ from the uninitiated, or punters who don't check online prior to shopping or ask the question. As the staff looked like casual saturday staff, I didn't ask the question, Q.If someone did present a bag for payment who wasn't a regular feeder (2 Months), whether they would offer them the cheaper online price 35+% (thats also depending if you bought Lamb or Chicken and not Fish and Potato which is more expensive again), or if they would just take the full retail price 35% more expensive.
Confused Much?? Very poor corporate decision from whoever makes these things up, (Probably during Covid)! Obviously this is Petbarn's new initiative to make it easier for the customer whilst exploiting more $$'s from unsuspecting customers. I for one will be purchasing my dog food elsewhere online from now on.

I ordered my digestive dog food online as a click and collect from Morayfield North Pet Barn it came bagged up and double knotted they made me sign a piece of paper to say I had collected it, I got home to find that they had given me the wrong food, I rang the store 3 times before someone answered I was then asked for all the information and told that someone would be in touch, I asked if I could speak with the manager and was told she was in the office doing something I said I was happy to wait and was put on hold then an American woman came on the ph she stated I could come and pick up the right food, I told her it is over an hours drive that I had already made once today and she came back with “well ma’am did you sign the paper saying you picked it up. I said I would like it delivered she said well ma’am.. so I hung up and rang customer service and my dog food was delivered instantly. Moral of the story is we all need to start to demand proper customer service we keep them in operation
New groomer $$$
Regularly attend Cleveland store for nail clip and grind. Always been a fast, good job. Today I went in and the groomer wouldn’t allow my boy into the normal area because she had too many small dogs. They seemed friendly enough and so is mine, dog yapping continually out of site but she came out and clipped most of his front paws and 1 nail in total from both back paws. We were in there no longer than 2 mins and that was because she grabbed his paws several times over. She cornered him in grooming reception area. Previous groomers explained they never corner a dog that way to cut nails but we weren’t allowed in. Used to be $5 cut $10 if they grinded or spent some time. Today was $15 for less than half the job. Guy serving was just as disinterested. Won’t be going back.
White Aquatic Substrate
Bought 10K White Aquatic Substrate for a large fish tank. I was thorough in rinsing the gravel out before use; however, the tank water is now a thick milky white colour. It seems the gravel must have been coated with a white substance that releases into the water. Despite further rinsing the water and draining the tank on 3 occasions, the water is still no less milky than at the beginning. Looks like I'll have to dump the substrate and start over. And... of course, cannot get through to customer service; left listening to tacky, repetitive lift music. Sorry Petbarn, you're fired!!!!!

If you have a pedigree dog , Do Not Take It To Petbarn. My dog was shaved to bare skin and had a big razor rash all over her back. The Nails were never cut. The area Managet said that she didn’t think that was included in the groom.
They cut every piece of my Birchon Fris hair, tail and even whiskers off. In the winter time. It had taken three months and still the tail is not the same.and she is still very short hair A birchon Fris tail is a plume and never gets matted. Birchon Fris are proud dogs snd it has taken horrific toll on me and my beautiful dog.
Not even her round Birchon face was left.
Her original groomer was shocked as much as we were, . It had taken months and still waiting for the hair to grow back

I have dealt with Petbarn for years. I recently had an experience that was so negative, that any goodwill has evaporated.
I decided to buy my very large (French Mastiff) dog an additional comfy bed. Very large dogs take careful consideration of bed sizes. I researched my choice and placed for (and paid for) my selection as a click and collect on the Petbarn website. I received an email that said my order was ready to collect. I drove into town (about half an hour) and when I tried to collect a teenager told me that "his" store did not carry that brand. The Petbarn website confirmed that the item was stocked at that store and the email said it was ready to collect. The only answer I could get to the discrepancy was that customer service would have called me, but they were very busy. I asked him to give me a refund or a credit I could use to purchase an alternate product. He told me that the online website was a different company (somehow also named pet barn) and I would have to call them to get a refund. I asked if he could arrange to have the product shipped to me. He said he was too busy. I asked if I could speak with the manager. He told me that he was the manager and everything he said was final. I thought speaking to an adult might have led to a resolution. He started shouting that I was wasting his time.
It took me about half an hour to drive to the store, half an hour to drive home and about another half hour to get customer service on the phone. I wasted an hour and a half of my time. I am 68 years old and was yelled at in an abusive and threatening manner by a teenager. This is a textbook case in poor customer service and has cast a shadow over any previous positive experience with the customer. I still do not have my money back.
Disappointing PetBarn to your once loyal customers
I have shopped with PetBarn for 5 years. I recently had to go to shopping on the online rather than store due to a medical condition . This is where you have lost me PetBarn . Your site is so hard to navigate I have to scroll down so many pages because your searches aren’t working most of the time when I’m looking for my products. You waste so much time to only be told after trying hard to find your items you are told right at the end it’s out of stock!!! It’s so frustrating and not a normal site for this day in age. Three times I have had to call your help centre when my online account was not working and another one time when it charged me twice for goods. Your customer service team told me to try repeat delivery when I called with all the problems which I have tried - half the time I don’t receive my stock the last one I got 2 deliveries 2 days apart because the first was so delayed!!. The prices I’m charged are not the correct price with discount and I’m now having to waste more time in disputing and being told no it’s correct price. You seem to be ripping off customers the online price is far less in stores people need to be aware. But don’t try and buy anything on line because it will take you an hour and then when you get to check out it’s not in stock.
after so much errors I have now gone to petcircle easier to navigate the site remembers my last order which is great and I get my items on time and it’s actually cheaper than all the gimmicks PetBarn play. There are also hiding vouchers from customers with a loyalty program that makes no sense and you have to apparently ‘activate’ on your account, how convenient PetBarn you don’t make it easy and it’s right at the bottom of the page to activate the voucher which no one would even see! PetBarn you lost me why do you make it all so hard??? In this day in age in all websites vouchers and discounts are automatic to reward your loyal customers not hide them and be sneaky like PetBarn does. The store manager where I used to shop and was at my wits end when I called (because your help centre was no help at all and he sounded like he couldn’t give any regard to any feedback or to actually help a valuable customer ) said yep we hear about this all the time from customers but head office don’t listen to us or bother fixing any problems, her suggestion came back and shop in store it’s much easier. Well unfortunately I can’t but I did find a better solution - petcircle
Maybe listen to your staff and try and shop on your own site to see the problems and try to keep track of a program that pretends to award vouchers and discounts but hides it from their customers. To have one price for store and another for online. There are hundreds of reviews outlining the same!!! Dishonest PetBarn
