Awful app and company

Awful app and company. Extra charges are added to parking fees. They charge an admission fee and keep texting and charging my credit card for every text. I have contacted customer support and was promised a call back but nothing. Can’t believe Wickford car parks are now using this with no other way to pay. I won’t be shopping in Wickford again. The shops will suffer with this app being used in the car parks.

Works 20% of the time

Works 20% of the time, sometimes even telling you that your parking session has begun but in heinsight its not registered you as parking.

Council are doing little to nothing to address this issue as there are way better alternatives out there.

I've got 4 parking tickets as a direct relation to this app not working, sure they got wiped off but why should I have to spend the time contesting these tickets when Its a problem with your poorly coded, awful app.

So after 8 emails 3 phone calls I have (one of which is in their estimate 48 hours late -thanks lilly!) I have had a voice mail saying call them if I still have an issue.

Which obviously I still have due to the fact I have waited two days to receive a call back from Lilly???? And they haven’t actually fixed the issue of not putting a vat number on their receipts - only some machines show the vat number.

Reported to Liverpool council - who gave me the telephone number to call them.

Seriously - ridiculous company and ridiculous of Liverpool council to give this company and their crap app and IT systems the contract.

Queens Hospital Romford - PandP Disgraceful

I parked in a hospital A/E adjacent car park. Queens Romford (I am an A/E nurse)
Its a long story - I will give the shortened version.
Despite all phone prompts stating they were taking payment for 12 hours of parking I got a text an hour and a half later telling me they had not in fact processed my parking.
I went out to my car to find a PCN issued 20mins after my arrival.
Three days later I discovered they had taken £3.00 from my account so clearly had all the details.
I did raise a very unhelpful and condescending member of their staff by phone that morning (12 arrogant disinterested minutes of not our fault guv !!) Unable to put me through to a manager. Said one would call me back - they didnt.
I wrote to them - they did not reply.
I emailed them attaching a copy of my letter - they did not reply.
They did not refund my £3.00 either.
I am contesting my ticket.
Clearly that £3.00 must have been for parking as I have been given no other explanation.
Relatives of acutely sick and seriously injured patients have to use this car park.
Nurses work a 13 hour shift - Phone and Pay have recently reduced the total hours you can pay for to 12 in what I consider might well be a cynical attempt to catch stressed nurses out at either the beginning or end of their shift. (I was booked after 20 mins - co-incidental timing ?? - I rest my case).
Nasty company. LB of Havering an equal disgrace for using this bunch of cowboys in the first place and not cancelling the PCN on my first request. (Just had to appeal again after Notice to Owner.) I will happily meet them all in court if it comes to it.

Unreliable app

14.10.19 tried to use the phone and pay app. Wouldn't load! Rang local Bradford number on the car park sign to be told that the app was having work done and it wasn't available at that time, they gave the alternative to pay cash or send SMS text. I had no cash as had depended on the app as I'd done in the past. I sent a text through to the mobile number given, giving the location, number of minutes and the 3 digits on the back of my card as I have an account with them. Came back 3 hours later to a £25 pound fine. The app was now working so I emailed them informing them what had happened. The lady checked and said the app had not been down at that time which was a blatant lie as I'd rung the local number and it had said it was. They advised I could appeal but I doubt it would get anywhere if they say the app was working at that time. This was a lie as the automated voice had definitely informed the app was having work done on it at that time. I have now deleted the app as it is not reliable and a waste of time and can be costly! Absolute rubbish service too!

Chasing your backside with this…

Chasing your backside with this company, if they take extra money from my account (as I can’t get the app to work for a time extension) I will be after them as recording all the essential maintenance voice messages, and there’s a lot!

Can’t believe councils selected this…

Can’t believe councils selected this company. How? Did they do any research?
The app doesn’t work and sends you in endless loops. Their website doesn’t work.
Judging from the reviews and complaints online I can only assume they are out of business.
Back to carrying cash like it’s the 1980’s

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Liverpool City Council use this service and I had only used a handful of times before a problem occurred. I had paid all day (at over the cash price, I might add), got my confirm text back to say all OK. Got back to my car to find a parking ticket on it. Phone and pay only put their transaction through at midday (during a mobile outage on the EE network). Phone and pay won't help with the ticket and I waited 4 long months to be told pay the charge anyway when I had already paid for all day parking. Once there is a dispute you are on your own, but they both still charge. DO NOT USE, and avoid LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL too.

Just awful - Ringgo its not!

Receipts that would embarass a primary school child for their lack of any sort of design, and could be knocked up in better quality in wordpad. The app is horrific to use, randomly makes your parking session dissappear so your not sure if its registered it or not, and charges you for texts you neither requested or wanted (in fact its charged me for texts i'd already unselected today).

If any council or company with parking to manage is considering this awful solution, then please don't. Ringgo or even paybyphone works far better than this, this really doesn't work properly and will cause people who know this is your pay by phone provider to park elsewhere if they have experienced this useless rubbish.

Absolute garbage. Unexplained charges, later told of 'peak tariff' which doesn't exist

I expected to pay £3.50 for up to 10hrs parking near Bradford. Had to pay an extra £1 (as well as the usual text/service charges, which I knew about) which the app added to the parking cost without any explanation whatsoever. Disputing this afterwards by email I am told that the £1 is for a 'peak tariff', which doesn't exist anywhere, not on the app, not on any physical signs, not on the council's website, nowhere. It also doesn't get added to the next shortest time slot (up to 2hrs) or the next longest (up to 2 days). Clearly an error that they just refuse to acknowledge. Blatantly misleading system that could be so easily fixed. Avoid.

A shockingly inept organisation behind what purports to be a new concept in the park & pay sector.

I attempted to use this service today in Falkirk. At first it seemed straightforward. Then, 15 minutes after I'd left the car park I got a text message saying that I should phone them as there was an URGENT (their caps not mine) problem with my registration. I have, in the intervening 3 hours tried to phone their contact number 17 times! Always put on hold, then disconnected. On two attempts I was told I'd be transferred to an operator and then was disconnected within 3 or 4 seconds. I've sent at least 8 or 9 messages via their get in touch system on their website. Absolutely no response to any of them. If I could give a negative number of stars I would.
This is a completely hopeless organisation who appear to be more interested in signing people up than providing a service. I expect to be charged £1.80 for my 40 to 50 minutes of parking. So far no charge has appeared on my debit card - but I'm sure it will appear soon enough. If its more than the £1.80 I expect to be charged I may well seek legal advice.

MY ADVICE IS TO AVOID THIS ORGANISATION LIKE THE PLAGUE

UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!
Phone &Pay finally made contact this morning after I had (a) sent several lengthy emails to get their attention, and (b) asked Trustpilot to let them know of my review! I wonder which approach actually triggered their call this morning? They blamed everything on the usual "equipment malfunction". I had to make a formal request that they send me an email stating they would not be charging me any money and that they would instruct their enforcement company not to proceed! There was no offer from them to send me that email - I had to request it otherwise I believe I'd have been pestered for some form of payment at some future date. My advice to motorists remains unchanged - AVOID THIS ORGANISATION AT ALL COSTS!

The worst App and service out there

Please, please, please stop allowing councils to register for the services provided by this bunch of cowboys. The app is a disgrace and just outright appalling. The telephone service is worse. How, well the list is so long is defies belief.

This company needs shutting down now. It is the worst parking app out there and a total pile.

First use today in sedgemoor Burnham…

First use today in sedgemoor Burnham car park.
This parking app replaces the previous operator app which was being used at this location.
The app was all set up within minutes, recorded and saved my vehicle , quite clear on APP that you are not opting in to SMS reminders which will add to the cost of parking.
No issues and no surcharges as per previous operator when using their app.
Also arrived at car park at 08.40am and the car park was free until 9.00am, after purchasing a 1 hour charge the parking time did not start until 9.00 am.
Perfect and so easy to use.

This is not a reliable app

This is not a reliable app. I use an Honor 9 mobile phone running Android. The app either hangs or comes up with an error indicating that the vendors web site does not have a certificate that can be trusted. Sometimes it seems like it has worked, then it hangs while confirming the transaction. Since I'm not sure if I have paid I then have to pay with cash in the machine. Later I see it has charged me and I get an email receipt confirming the payment.

I have uninstalled the app until I'm convinced the app is reliable enough to use. This is a shame since when I first installed the app it worked well.

Followed instructions on phone and got cut off. Tried again and didn't understand instructions. Being told to speak my registration number followed by the colour and make of car, then press hash key. Then a machine repeated the recording back to me. So how does that confirm that i have paid for parking? Then I get a garbled response confirming parking, and the machine tries to spell out the name of the make of car, rather than confirm the reg no, after which it all goes dead. Did i pay or not? Then an urgent text telling me to text my car reg immediately. Followed by no confirmation that they had the right info. Six hours later i get a text telling me the correct reg number is registered to park. I would stay home rather than try this again.

As good as other parking apps.

As good as other parking apps.
On a recent visit to Wells, Somerset. I pulled into a car park hoping they had mobile payment as I knew I had no change. Luckily they did.
I use a few different parking apps and had to download another one, the 'phoneandpay' app.
The app was easy to set up with my details, car info and payment.
I know about the hidden SMS costs as I use other parking apps, I could not find the setting in this app, so got charged an extra 20p for 2 SMS messages.
When I got home I looked through the app and did find the setting and turned it off.
All in all a good experience.

BE CAREFUL

BE CAREFUL. You are automatically opted in to SMS and reminders and they charge extra for them. Whilst it has been an extra 60p on a 36 hour stay which already cost £45.60, I feel like I have been 'skimmed'. . . I have complained to their Customer Services who say their terms and conditions are on the side of the machine noting these additional charges. I certainly didn't notice them and there is no mention of them on the automated phone line when you call to arrange payment either. I won't park there again unless I absolutely have to, as I feel they are already untrustworthy and this is only the first time I've used them. . .

Mobile app just crashes

Mobile app just crashes - not sure if we've been charged about 10 times or not at all. Don't rely on this app as we did. Luckily we had £2 between us and could pay at machine. We'll have to check bank statements to make sure they don't charge us on the app.
