Excellent service and good advice given. Also excellent value for money re supply price of tyres and all done within 45 minutes when I arrived at 4.30pm in a flap. Thank you!
Staff were polite and very helpful.
I've taken 2 of my bikes for an mot at Buckley Protyre now and the service and advice from the mechanic carrying out the mot have been excellent. They are now servicing bikes there too, so I would advise everyone to take their bikes there for both. Very helpful with excellent knowledge. Thanks Richard
They did a very professional job.
Given good safety advice and first class service.
Very comfortable waiting room.
Free coffee for customers.
Happy to let me book and take the money then phoned me to say they haven’t got the tyres! Oh and it will take 3 working days to get the money back, that I’d paid 10 minutes earlier!!! Haven’t used Buckley tyres since they sold out, and now I’m remembering why!!!!

The booking was quick and easy and staff always helpful and polite.
The service was completed and I was notified it was available to collect.
Nearly 2hours to change 4 tyres and aligns wheels. FREE check then smiling staff give you your over priced invoice. Then on top of that paper work shows all tyres tred depth to be 8mm. When in fact when checked are between 5.8 - 6.6 mm. Why!!

I visited Protyre in Buckley. Below is the email I wrote to them.
They were not at all apologetic and claimed that by law they had to put the disposal charge on the bill. Also it was a duty of care to perform their checks and charges.
I am unlikely to use your services again for the following reasons.
1) In days gone by I could arrive at my tyre supplier. Within less than a minute a representative would come to my car and ask what my needs were. I would be told the expected wait, (rarely more than 10 minutes) and then my tyre(s) would be changed , wheels balanced included in the tyre price I had been quoted, in a time approx 10 min per tyre. There were no mystical extra charges. 20min-1/2 hr total time spent .
2) My recent experience at Protyre.
I had to book an appointment (presumably because of the unnecessarily long time I was sitting in the waiting room)
When I arrived, I still had to wait 10 minutes.
I observed the tyre fitter measuring the tread on the tyres I was not changing. (Time wasted and 1 wasted piece of paper with information I was already aware of.)
The wear on my brakes was also measured ( Time wasted and nothing to do with tyres and I was already aware of. Another piece of wasted paper.)
The bill was printed on the front page but not totalled with VAT added until the 2nd page (Another wasted piece of paper)
A 4th piece of unnecessary paper meant that the ENVIRO charge worked out at £1.04 (+VAT) per sheet of paper. I assume that was what the charge meant.
The VAT calculation came to an amount including 0.2p which was rounded up in your favour, (mathematically incorrect , and not benefiting your goodwill)
There was also a charge for case disposal (£6.26 +VAT) which I have never had before.
The total extras amounted to £36 79.2p (£36.80 on your system).
This might have paid the wages of the receptionist who spent most of the 75 minutes I was sitting waiting for my tyres to be fitted, answering the phone to people who had to make a booking as there was not enough time to fit them into today. At least 2 of those people could have been served during my wait, and a further 2 during the wait of the other customer in the waiting room. If you scale this up to an 8 hour day that is 32 customers, who like me will probably go elsewhere for their tyres in future.
Buying tyres is a service, and I do not consider it necessary to spend my time waiting for investigations which I pay for when I get my car serviced and MOT'd (ELSEWHERE).
In their response I was truly amazed that they described themselves as a FAST FIT tyre centre, given the length of time taken to fit 2 tyres.
I was not impressed by the length of time taken with the Suzuki either on an earlier occasion. Perhaps I should have learned my lesson then.
Following the experience above I had a similar tyre fitted to the same car while on holiday. I booked an open ended morning appointment, arrived mid morning. The tyre was fitted within 15min of arrival and cost £60 with no extras for wheel balancing etc. They also checked all the tyre pressures within the same period.
Response from Protyre, "Each vehicle that comes on to site will have every tyre measured and the brakes too, This is a duty of care and is completely complimentary - It allows us as a business to make you aware of the current tyre/brake health.
You mention 'case disposal' - This is for the old tyre casing to be disposed of - We as a business pay to have to tyre correctly disposed of - this cost is put on the customers invoice along with the valve and balancing. Any business that is completing tyre replacement MUST show a tyre disposal charge on each invoice."
They did not explain the ENVIRO charge, nor the rounding up of VAT.

Car needed 2 new front tyres as tyres had been worn away completely on outside edge which seemed like had to be alignment issues. Not long after parking received phone call to say could I return to garage as handbrake not working. I arrived to find someone had pulled the unusal (Ford Galaxy cockpit style lever) handle up a distance I had not thought possible and was now obviously completely wrecked. They said it was already broken when they found it but had released it and put the tyres on and the wheel alignment was perfect as it was so did not need adjusting. As I drove away it was obvious the handbrake was not clear, driving with the brake on home getting worse all the time, managed to make the 3 miles home with the back wheels sizzling hot! Had to get the parts and fix the handbrake myself as Buckley Tyres had said they were going to get the parts and get it fixed but in reality immediately began trying to get rid of me. I could see that the brand new £260 tyres were developing wear on exactly the same place as the old tyres so went to another tyre garage who analysed the wheel alignment to be so bad was wrecking the tyres (as we all already knew apart from the so called Buckley experts)! Also turns out that even though I fixed the handbrake lever successfully the handbrake itself does not work anymore because they have stretched the whole thing, and because I had to drive away with the brake on that has caused damage to the whole braking system I am going to have to get fixed at a big cost now... There was nothing wrong with any of this stuff before I drove into Buckley Tyres that day. This is the worst experience I have ever had involving a garage and NEGATIVE 5 stars are deserved here but I have to give 1 unfortunately to get this message out there to people to NEVER GO TO BUCKLEY TYRES unless you want complicated trouble all of a sudden!

Friendly service as always , they fitted me in to there busy schedule for a tyre pressure sensor replacement, I would highly recommend.
Will not repair a simple puncture on perfectly good tyre, saying it is company policy not to repair it so you will have to buy a new tyre.

Tyre's fitted quickly, and only waited 5 mins for my time slot.Balanced all good.
Excellent service as always,Jen on front desk ,very helpful, polite and caring..Refit me in after overtightened ,rounded bolts from another garage needed fixing before my tyres could be fitted. Thanks to Owen for going the extra mile
The knowledge, experience and complete thoroughness of the tyre fitter left me in no doubt I was leaving in the knowledge that I was completely safe until the next time.
Service was good but the waiting room was freezing!
Mixed really. The original Buckley tyres was friendly and more importantly a personal service. The downside now it’s just a business. I’m not liking the book in service.Whereas you used to tip up and get seen eventually.Maybe it’s time to look elsewhere..interaction was polite but that was it…
Prompt attention on arrival. Thorough attention to detail as the work progressed.
Hassle free booking an appointment on line.
Professional service as ever.
Buckley tyres use to be a reputable tyre fitting centre, however since its change over to Protyre it has gone downhill, such a shame as it was my go to place for tyres and exhausts etc! Twice I have used it through recently once through black circles and once to have tracking done, which they couldn’t do as they were apparently seized, took it to my local garage and they freed them off im 5 minutes, not even any sign of them attempting to free them off with a wire brush or lubricant! Whilst in waiting room I witnessed 4 phone calls turning work away as they were ‘snowed under’ only 2 bays in use, even sending work to Barry Wilkins, wouldn’t of been the case with the old Buckley tyres. Sort yourselves out, won’t be using again, not the first bad experience I’ve heard since either!
