My appointment was in time , staff was helpful and kindly looked after my brand new alloys. Tyres have been fitted and since I have a very smooth drive. I will use them again in the future.

I was charged £45 to get a locking…
I was charged £45 to get a locking wheel nut drilled. My van was literally away from the unit for 5 minutes where the tyres were being changed. I'd take a guess the drilling was a 2/3 minute job. I think the £45 charge for this was a bit greedy considering I was already giving them my business by having my tyres changed there.
Also, as a lot of other negative posts points out, the waiting time/appointment system is extremely poor.

Inaccurate information on service
Service told me i had 3mm remaining on front brake pad. Checked by another garage and it had 10mm remaining. Very disappointing, would of cost nearly 300 pounds if i hadnt had it checked elsewhere.

Gates tyres
The garage I got the tyres sent to, Gates tyres, said my locking wheel nut needed drilled off, which incurred a £45.00 charge. My van was taken to the workshop for drilling, from the tyre replacement unit and returned literally, 5 minutes later. I'm assuming drilling the wheel nut off took around 2 minutes. I felt this was a bit greedy of them, considering I'd given them business of replacing my tyres in the first instance

Good, inexpensive, but always trying to upsell
They are ok if you book in advance and they get the job done, usually pretty quickly if you get there on time (don't bother getting there early as they'll keep you to the original appointment time and you'll end up waiting for ages). Seats in the waiting area are comfortable, but there's no heating.
On the downside they are always trying to upsell stuff you don't need with scare stories if you don't have them done; for example, telling me that I needed my brakes replacing as it's an MOT failure, yet I had had the MOT done two days previously and no mention was made of the brakes. I've since done over 20,000 miles on them without any problems.
So OK and cheaper than the garages, but only four stars because of the upselling.

Very poor service
Very poor service. I arranged to have my car booked in- in person on 22/05/2026 to check rear tyre and possible replacement for the next day 23/05/2026. But when I arrived at 1 pm on 23/05/2026 I was told that there would be a long delay, and they couldn't even tell me how long the delay would be. I explained that I had booked the car in yesterday for 1 pm today and the reception staff said there was nothing they could do about it and if I liked I could book the car in for monday 25/05/2026. I have no confidence the same would not happen again.Although one member of staff apologised other staff appeared totally unintersted. Obviously their pre-booking system does not work and I wasted my time and 2 trips to Lillyhall. I will not be using this company again.
