Home credit loans with extortionate…

Home credit loans with extortionate interest are a legalised form of loan sharking. People often turn to home credit due to poor credit history. This is then took full advantage of with extortionate interest rates. No amount of form signing, paperwork or telephone calls can disguise the fact that it essentially preying on the financially vulnerable, Also provident do not comply with any financial Ombudsman service recommendations or timescales regarding irresponsible lending. My complaint is still ongoing since september 2017 and im still waiting for a senior ombudsman to be allocated after provident rejected my adjudicators recommendations to redress interest ive paid.
Awful company do your self a favour and stay well clear!

Daniel from provident based in cork who works mainly in Middleton and kinsale is full of it and his boss michael and anyone else who cooperates with his lies so I would steer well clear of provident and I recommend ROSS BRO FINANCIAL it's cheaper interest and more friendly staff. Also do not give any credentail to these people as they publish yoir personal information.

Stupid. Online okay in person not so much

Applied for a £500 loan online yesterday and everything was good. Today when the lady came around she did the rest of the application which ended up wasting us both a half hour of our time as they offered £100. Your staff must hate having their time wasted and myself thinking I'd gotten the loan was sorely disappointed as I didn't accept the loan offered, what could I have done with such a small amount anyway.. you pay almost twice back as you receive.

Absolute joke completely wasted my time…

Absolute joke completely wasted my time DO NOT trust these frauds. I applied for a loan the agent comes out i provide all my documents. I'm on universal credit the previous month i'd done some work. My wages had been deducted from my universal credit. Because of this they would only do my checks based on the amount if universal credit i got that month rather than the regular amount and would not include the wages i got. So of course the lian gets rejected when they are putting in an income of £149 a month instead of my actual income which i provided months and months of proof of. Which is funny because i thought you were supposed to accurately fill in the forms and not lie which is exactly what they did. FCA complaint coming your way!

Ref CCCD4139153

Ref CCCD4139153, like to thank provident I have just received a cheque for irresponsible lending on a couple of loans before 2015,it took a while but they are obviously busy, they are trying to rectify past mistakes some of their agents have made in the past, things have changed on lending practices since then so as a company they are trying to rectify agents mistakes and they have with mine but as a company in itself I have never had any problems with rude agents etc they have all always been nice to deal with and with mistakes they have made onto the business itself provident are left to try and rectify past mistakes and apologise for hardship some customers have experienced and now they have changed their lending practices because of mistakes in the past they are still genuinely a good company so a lot of bad reviews are based on not being answered over there complaints they are replying to complaints but it is taking longer because by the looks of it they have a lot of complaints to deal with at the moment and people who are putting bad reviews because they won’t lend to them anymore or are refusing them another loan although being a good payer is because they have had to change their lending practices through the FCA and by the looks of it the huge amounts of complaint they receive over irresponsible lending in the past which was done by most past agents who are probably not employed by provident anymore because of this, but as an overall company they are great and at the times when I really needed a loan and I wasn’t working and a single parent and credit was bad they always helped when was really needed I stopped loaning a few years ago due to financial struggles but they have apologised and rectified their old agents past mistakes,so I thank you provident for this.

When collection agent didn't turn up (2 weeks late) I called in to the customer service to enquire what's going on. Was put through to a completely useless guy, who knew nothing about my history or payment schedule. He finally admitted the agent had seen sense and left the company.
The company is a joke.

Provident seem to lend monry to people…

Provident seem to lend monry to people who arec out of work on benefits some loan interest are higher than the loan it self this is fact also due to austerity some benefits are being stopped and leaving people in debt which is not there fault and this becomes a worrying problem that then can make the person to become depressed, Provident customers who find themselves in this situation can phone stepchange debt charity on 08001381111 if you have less than £50 a month after your bills you can apply for a debt relief order (DRO) this is a (one off payment of £90) and nothing else to pay even if you owe thousands of pounds and then the total debt is written off completly after 12 months nothing more to pay all debts written off for good, so dont struggle with debts phone stepchange freephone 0800 138 1111 and WIPE YOUR DEDTS OFF. Your creditors must abide by the terms and conditions of the (DRO) abd cannot harrass you or contact you all your debts are dealt personally by STEPCHANGE DEBT CHARITY.

Some information and questions answered…

Some information and questions answered for those that may require it... (I’m a previous employee)

1) Provident are now regulated by the FCA financial conduct authority, meaning old practices and procedures the company use to follow are no longer allowed,

2) any loan notifications aren’t guaranteed and are based on income/affordability and of course credit checks,
Whether the customer has been a good payer or not, like any loan with any company or bank the decision is made through the computerised financial system and provident can not control this

Provident loans are still an easier loan method and run softer credit checks than trying to get a loan through your bank or another company,

3) The APR is representative and changes depending on how much is borrowed and term the loan is over.

4) provident now record certain customers for training and quality purposes, loan applications/ customers that may have missed payments/ customers that are underpaying
This is for not only for the safety of the employees but also for the customers to ensure the best service is being provided

5) the employees are no longer self- employed and are salaried, so are not losing on their income if customers don’t pay, I know a few past comments have mentioned that Certain colleague harass to get money in their pocket, but this is not the case, nor do they need to, they’re just there to assist and ensure payments are met against the credit agreement

Been with them for years always paid…

Been with them for years always paid on time but although they send me emai!s saying i can have another loan when i apply i keep getting refused although i can afford the repayments because of their past history the credit checks are are done on past debt so they cannot really call themselves doorstep lenders anymore because they refuse to lend money to people who can afford to pay it back but their credit history isn't good which is how they used to operate years ago

Avoid.

Took out a 100 pound loan back in April. Agent was fine at first then began coming to collect on a Thursday despite me explaining I got paid on a Friday as was more 'convenient' for him as he collected from someone else near me on a Thursday. Have 2 young children I specifially asked him not to ring the bell and to knock as babies might be napping... couple of times when I was in the kitchen and babies napping in living room he knocked once and before I even had time to get to the door he started repeatdly ringing on the bell and knocking on the living room window waking up the baby's! One week I was away the day collection was due and paid online only to recieve a letter through the door on return home from the 'area manager' about 'getting your account back on track!' After not even being a day late with payment and paying online! Had enough and thought I'd make an overpayment online to get it paid off quicker but simply didn't see hide nor hair of the agent for all the weeks the overpayment had been made so unless you pay off in full completely in full there is no way to pay the loan off any quicker! Also no consistency in time they come to collect the payment so I felt I couldn't have people over the day payment was due as very embarrassing to have someone turn up aksing for money when friends and family are in the house! One week they didnt turn up on day they were due and then turned up on the bank holiday a couple days later when I had people over... I don't want people turning up with no warning or even a text on a bank holiday when I have my family and friends round! They were the ones who didnt turn up on arranged day then just show up out of the blue without any prior contact! If you are out when they come round (and like I said no consistency with time they show up and I'm not waiting in all day for them) they harrass you with calls/texts/emails immediately even when the payment isn't even a day late! totally regret taking out the loan and wouldnt take out another one! They are all smiles and niceties when you get the loan then turn immediately after its issued and end up harassing you as soon as payments due even if you make payments online the same day its due. Avoid avoid avoid!

They will still turn up!

Agent turning up to my address without me making any arrangement for appointment. I had a missed call from this loan agent, within minutes she at my front door! I've sent out emails of my application cancellation a day before but she still turned up. I believe once you fill the application and then decided to cancel the company will still send out agent/advisors to your address just to do there sales work by selling you out a loan even tho you don't want it from them. Very unprofessional.

Don’t waste money on owing more money you will end up in a vicious circle with these con merchants. They pray on the weak like a lion hunting for their next victim!

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!
I ended up in MASSES of debt because of this company, I was allowed to be given loans without any background checks. My agent would regularly complete forms and i'd just sign, and as I was desperate. I never questioned it.
Currently going through a complaint with them, and of course. They are dragging their feet!!

Another appalling company

Another appalling company, complained about irresponsible lending, won’t entertain the idea based on 6 year rule, agents do as they please as long as there getting there commission, one agent was specifically told not to lend to me by my parents after paying off my previous loan in full, 1 week later no checks and another loan agreed in the car park, was even having to do a 20 mile trip to pay the agent, hope the FOS deals with them full force
