Management treat their collectors…

Management treat their collectors appallingly. Management tell lie after lie and all collectors threatened with their jobs on an almost daily basis. Bunch of bullying loan sharks who take advantage of the elderly, the young and the genuinely struggling family. Horrific APR and "other costs" and constantly told to ask for full arrears from people who clearly cannot afford to pay their standard rate sometimes! Made to work until 8pm most evenings so working hours almost double what they pay for. An all round awful company!!

I have worked for Provident for many…

I have worked for Provident for many years and things have changed a lot, most for the better. We have to comply with the fca with regard to the income and outgoings information. The voice recording is a requirement of the fca and is there for qualty and training purposes. This is to make sure we are doing the right thing for the customer. most of the comments on here are untrue. My customers have known me for many years and have become friends

Not impressed in the slightest

Not impressed in the slightest, got approved for a home visit and received a phonecall 2 minutes after completing the online form from a member of staff called Tanisha who in my opinion had a stinking attitude problem and out and out lied about what was said in one of our phone conversations, firstly she rang up to ask a few questions on the Friday and said she may be able to get a visit out to me the next day (Saturday) if not then it would be the Monday coming instead. I thought that was that until she rang back about 20 minutes later saying she was calling to say she may get me an appointment for the next day again and then started asking me if I had a provident loan in the past to which I replied no (as I haven't) and then she asked me do I have any children to which I replied no ( as I don't) and then I heard voices in the background and she actually started to come across like she had an attitude problem but still didn't really see an issue at this point until I asked her what time Saturday she would be coming around to which she replied " I didn't say anything about coming to your home tomorrow" at this point I started to feel really uncomfortable as that's exactly what she said but as I needed the loan didn't want to annoy her in any way that would prevent me from getting it so I apologised for any misunderstanding and asked her when she would be able to to which she said she would call me and I have heard nothing back since. My partner was listening on loudspeaker and picked up on the way she was acting also and found her behaviour unprofessional and intimidating to say the least but nevertheless decided to wait till she called but alas.... She never did so I won't be bothering with provident again as they clearly don't want any new customers I mean you can't do too have staff acting in such a way towards potential new clients, I will go elsewhere and I would urge others looking for a loan to do the same.

Tried to apply for a loan for the last…

Tried to apply for a loan for the last couple of weeks now and keep getting rejected as my proof of income "isn't good enough" even though it's an official letter from ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) Oleg the agent was very rude and didn't acknowledge that the letter was formal and told me I was a waste of air and time. DO NOT USE THIS ATROCIOUS COMPANY.

These Loan-Sharks keep blitzing my road…

These Loan-Sharks keep blitzing my road with post-cards through the letter-box begging people to take loans of £100 at 535.3% interest.
So if one borrows £100 one has to replay £535.30!!!!
I would rather stick hat-pins in my eye-balls than sign up to these con-artists.
I thought the govt was supposed to be cracking down on these parasites. Absolutely disgusting.
Good luck with the postcards!!

Complaint awaiting decision

Bad complaints procedure. I have had an fos decision two weeks ago to uphold my complaint against provident. They had to respond by 5/4/19 and have not done so. After repeat phone calls to them I have been told that they are have a big workload at the moment. You would like to think that a massive company like provident were able to deal with important fos matters as promptly as possible.

Issued a complaint to Provident and was successful in having this upheld. This is where the fun began. After 4 months I got my agreed funds back from the debt collection agency I was paying along with a nominal compensation amount because of their part in passing me from pillar to post and unfairly. No acknowledgement from Provident in their part following the way I was treated in the scenario. Very poor Very!

Avoid

My mother tried to apply for a loan of 250 euro. The agent wanted her to write to the Disability Allowance section of the social welfare department in Limerick to prove her disability allowance payment. My mother fosters children and the agent wanted her to get in touch with social workers as he doesn't understand foster care. What is going on with these people. She had identification, prove of address and 6 months bank statements which is usually enough. She didn't bother taking the loan in the end.

Was great up until 2017 when they took…

Was great up until 2017 when they took away my regular agent whom I'd know for 10 years to be replaced with a CEM, Complete balls up. She last 2 months then disappeared, wa left without an agent for 3 months.
No communication nothing.
Then replaced with another, lasted 1 month. Then the one we have now, well.
Goes on holiday and tells no one.
Make payments on line, then texts me to say I have missed payments.
My husband paid his off yet they're still text to say bring your account up to date.
I'm not paying by agent anymore, I'll continue to do it online, as I don't trust him
He lies, and doesn't show up when he should.
Haven't had a book in a year.
Funny how the Feefo reviews not one negative, yet as we can see there are far more angry customers than ever.
Someone is definitely telling porkies.
Been with provi for 15 years I'll never take out another loan.

Currently awaiting a refund…

Currently awaiting a refund from.satsuma following an affordability complaint that went to the FOS and was found in my favour the refund was agreed between both parties on 19.12.18 they told me a week ago the cheque was in the post, yet another lie. This company's communication and honesty is beyond poor I have to say out of all short term loan companies I have used this is the worst. One person doesn't know what the other is doing I would avoid at all costs I will be putting a further complaint in to the FOS for dishonesty hoping that it gives the FOS more ammunition for future complaints they will indefinitely receive... emailed them the other day they emailed back automated response....they would always get back to me in 48 hours ... 72 hours and still waiting...

Provident don't understand credit reports

Just had a difference of understanding with provident underwriter about defaults. He said they go on your file and that's it, I said they are renewed every 6 months. I was right and he was wrong.

Threatening, intimidating reps

We got a loan out last year and unfortunately 6 months later my partner was laid if I had just had a baby etc anyway we had to bring our payments down despite not really being able to afford anything we have always tried to pay what we can my current rep is off sick and they sent a guy round last week who we asked to come back as we hadn’t been to get our money out as it was early and we usually do afternoons with our regular rep he said he would come back at 4 and didn’t they then sent someone round the following week I explained what had happened to her and that I didn’t want to discuss it at that time as I had visitors and it was confidential she continued to attempt to discuss it with no thought to the fact that I have just told her my account is private and confidential anyway two days later the from the previous week came back I tried to explain to him that I was waiting to hear back from a complaint etc and his response was a snigger and oh come on your just giving us the run around his attitude was very threatening, condescending and extremely intimidating this was all in front of my one year old son... little did he know my partner was in the kitchen who came out and told him to leave he soon did after calling provident later to make a complaint about this man (Kevin) they actually informed me that this intimidating, threatening, arrogant, pig was actually a customer services manager I have to question what sort of company allows firstly a member of staff with this attitude to go to peoples homes let alone promote him to a manager I dread to think the amount of vulnerable elderly people or single mothers he has intimidated loan company helping people for over 100 years? Loan sharks intimidating and threatening vulnerable people is a better description. Do not recommend at all

All well until you experience genuine…

All well until you experience genuine difficulties to which they then do nothing to help you other than harass you several times a day.

Even when you do what you think is right and contact them their agents still hound you every single day multiple times and even stop you in the street to try and talk about your loan.

No consideration for data or who hears just start discussing your loan regardless of who can hear.

Obviously there are times when turning to companies like this is the only option but be warned if you struggle you will be ignored!

Absolute disgrace of a company. AVOID!

If I could leave no stars I would.

It seems what I’ve experienced is like many others on here. My agent pestered me in to having another loan as her manager was nagging her to get more loans out. I couldn’t afford so thought it would be refused, to my surprise it was approved and I was lumbered with major interest. I somehow managed for 3 months with the payments but then a change in circumstances made it impossible for me to pay. I built up some arrears and was faced with very rude random agents knocking my door threatening me with bailiffs even though I already know they can’t do this it still isn’t nice having some bloke tower me talking to me like crap.
I made an official complaint about them and the fact that a loan was unfairly sold to me. I received all paperwork which shows the agent that pressured me in to a loan fudged the figures saying I was spending just £5 on weekly shopping and only £5 on electric and gas. All the other living expenses were ridiculously low too with my apparent monthly outgoings being less than £50. Even with all the evidence Provident still proclaimed that all was above board and their final checks were founded???? How can that be then because as a mother of 4 I definitely have outgoings way higher than £50 per month!
The staff are rude, you get pressured in to high interest loans and then don’t like it if you struggle with the payments and bully you weekly.
Something needs to be done about this company before it pushes more customer over the edge with their underhand tactics!
