Wasn't sure to expect when booking; perhaps a grubby brown-field site with containers surrounded by fencing. Pricing was competitive/reasonable, booking was simple..all local...too good to be true?
Nope, this place is an secure building, super-clean/tidy, modern and accessible. I've been delighted with my whole experience, from booking, intake, to my ongoing storage needs.
Specific nod to James at the Lincoln Allenby site whose approach to customer service is a credit to his employer. Friendly, helpful, courteous, professional. Deserves recognition.
Wouldn't hesitate in recommending Lincoln Allenby site of ReadySteadyStore. Would use again.

Avoid this place at all costs.
I actually can’t wait to move my things out of that storage place!
First 6 months were all fine, I was receiving a discounted price for my storage unit, until it came to an end...
Spoke to the manager of the store who promised half price until I moved out later this year (July/August time). Nope, that didn’t happen.
Emailed and asked, got told they’re not helping me because coronavirus had affected their business rates. ( Doesn’t matter about customers being affected financially though )
Then I got a random email saying my bank had bounced the monthly storage direct debit which it didn’t, I checked and I had the correct funds. They added on another £20! Emailed about it- no response. Emailed 3 more times - no response.
Then I emailed customer services, and a guy called Anthony promised a manager would look into my complaints and would get back to me straight away.. that was over 4 weeks ago now and I’ve heard nothing. Which meant it was too late and £120 was taken instead of the normal £55.
You get charged £5 a month for a starter pack.. no idea or explanation what that is..
Don’t ring customer service, they’ll tell you they can’t help you and to ring your store direct.
I’ll defo go somewhere else in the future.
Through out the COVID-19 pandemic while banks and mortgage companies, the government, loan companies all pitched in the help people, Ready Steady Store just kept piling on the fees, seems to be a licence to print money for them. I suppose the warning signs were there from the beginning, turn up to take a locker with a padlock in hand to be told you can’t use your own padlocks, you must buy theirs (not cheap) asked if you want access outside office hours (for anyone who works basically) then there is an extra charge for that. Insurance? Well what ever figure you give them they will tell you it isn’t enough and you should really put it much higher. Their insurance isn’t cheap either. You can do better with independent insurance but they won’t make it easy for that. All in all it’s a VERY expensive experience. Charges are excessive invoicing is hit and miss at best.

1 star becaue there is no zero. Ticked communication by email only on the quote request. Have had 20 sales calls over the last 2 days starting at 8pm ending at 7pm. Outrageous high-pressure sales. Quote received before the calls started excludes insurance, no doubt similar to car hire where they make a lot of money off that. But my return email asking for a quote on insurance was ignored - they obviously prefer to sticth up at the store when its too late. My advice AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE unless you like being hounded to death.
Readystore Bury New Road.
Be careful about their deals as they will try to get you in with a good one. After 8 weeks the deal has gone. They convince us to stay with another good deal, then we realised that after a month they put the price up again without telling us.
So we can’t wait for the lockdown to finish so we can get our things out.

I have had my storage with you for 2 months and can I just say how impressed I am with the whole service. From start to finish the service has been outstanding. I came to collect my stuff on Thursday and have spoken to Tim,Tom and James on the phone aswell. I would like for the three of them to be recognised for their, helpfulness, understanding and outstanding customer service. They are absolutley amazing all of them. They should be rewarded for the work they do,if I need storage again I will be coming to you because the whole experience has been outstanding. Thanks again Tim,Tom and James you are amazing.

You get what you pay for.
Ultimately yes, they are the most competitive on price... But it goes to show you get what you pay for. 24hr service is helpful but comes at an additional cost, this is not a criticism as some people won't want the 24hr access - just something to be wary of.
I've been with a few storage companies and the others have better customer service.
The site itself is also a bit shabby and unkept, I'm not sure how safe I feel in their clunky lift...
However I do prefer that they use barrel locks rather than a standard padlock as I do find this more safe.
Readysteadystore are very pushy on sales, and they tried to palm me off with a space that was only accessible via stairs and no lift...
On the phone they told me it was cheaper just because it wasn't on the ground floor. They failed to mention there was no lift access, so when I got their I had to change my booking. The manager in the store also started by offering me a more expensive room than a similar one I was originally quoted. He seemed a little grumpy and rude when I pointed out my email quote that was for the same size room on the same floor.
They were also rather pushy in store when it came to asking me to give them a review online.. so.. that's a little awkward.
When you receive your first quote form them, they will tell you that it's the last available one of that size and price and press you to put down a reservation fee..
Just relax. Don't fall for it and don't let them push you.
Very happy with my experience at the Wokingham branch. Good price and have had no problems in 3 years there. Moving out now as no longer needed but no complaints whatsoever.

A secure sight, well maintained, staffed with professional people who always go that extra mile. Thank you for your consistent high standards, and for taking good care of our equipment.

Another shout out to Tim at Worsley, Manchester. He was on hand whenever I needed anything doing and arranged an additional unit for me at very short notice when I was moving house - a real life saver believe me! Customer service is second to none and I would definitely recommend Tim at Worsley for any help you need

First time using Ready Steady Store in Worsley, Tim was very helpful and went the extra mile even though he was clearly busy when we checked in. He was on hand when needed and helpful the whole time. Some of the best customer service I've experienced. Very friendly and the storage units are well kept, secure and clean. If I could offer any advise it would be for Ready Steady store to have more staff in hand so theres more than one person helping everyone especially at busy times, to help your employees more than anything. We didnt have to wait at all, but Tim was alone and the weekends seemed really busy.

Needed storage for my daughter, found the whole process straight forward and simple, the member of staff that checked us in was very helpful and friendly.
Missed a call last week regarding refund, forgot to call back, they just called again to reimburse me, very good service, recommended.

I used the Shoreham branch of Ready Steady Store between 2017 and 2019 and spent many hundreds of pounds with them. They offer little in the way of incentive or reward for loyal long-term customers.
- I asked if I could get a discount if I committed to one year in advance? I could. 10% off is I paid everything in advance. Not much of a discount having been a customer for over a year!
- For a short period I paid for two units as I downsized to save money. Apparently I hadn't given enough notice to remain a paying customer so both were billable! A company that loved loyal customers might have shown a bit of love there.
- Be aware that Ready Steady Store don't charge monthly/PCM but in 4 week chunks. That means 13 invoices a year to loyal customers.
Ready Steady Storage is perhaps worth considering for short term storage. But longer than a few months and the costs increase and there is little in the way of incentive to stay. There are loads of options so shop around.
I'm STILL WAITING for the refund, 3 years on.
I enquired about a unit for my daughters items from her student flat and I received a call from a ' Jamie' who told me he had a couple of the required size available but i needed to put a deposit on because it might be taken by morning with the students etc, .He was very pushy and when i said i had just removed my money from my bank account and would have to go today and put it back in he said he would call me back when I'd been so I gave a random time to call and dead on the time he was on the phone, leaving messages, he called again and left a message ( sounded more desperate every time). I was suspicious of that so I searched the company ( after the Store First crash I was very concerned - I did like my time storing with them ,they were a good bunch of people in my centre so very sad ). I found a lot of negative reviews echoing my worries and I then realised that I had once put a deposit on a unit in Doncaster but I discovered a Store First near my house and didn't need it after all but when I applied for my deposit back it never came.It seems to me that it is this is just a cowboy outfit.

Shocking customer service by the manager which overshadows the decent quality of the units.
There are many other choices available, look around before you commit

I have stored for the past 2 years with a company that has now been taken over by Ready Steady Store, since the take over i have had nothing but grief from a rude passive aggressive policy that seems to be in place .
I have had phone calls & emails not even with my name !! telling me my latest invoice is due although in reality its not due for another 28 days this has happened on more than one occasion i have requested someone from the company to contact me as of yet no one appears interested or so it seems.
I can understand that companies have to be pro active these days but i have never missed my storage fees ever..so quite why the attitude i do not know ..there are plenty of storage companies out there that would be happy to take my money £150.00 month .
UPDATE/Ref /Reply
I have storage in Corby and my name is Mr S Hampson

Bad from start to finish.
the only helpful member of staff was moved along for being to helpful and remembering that we are all human beings and that respect goes a long way. Since this person has left, we have been left with a rude, obnoxious, busy body, that does'nt know how to help or get issuses resolved quickly. All we required was a telephone number to make arrangements, however she couldnt even do that, saying that she isnt allowed to pass that inforamtion on. BUT how can things be resolved or to have questions asked if we do not have the means to get in contact. More company information is required as well as transparancy to have all the relevant information on hand when needed.
They are over priced, the offers are not competive no wonder there are not many of them about.
Never will i ever use them again nor recommend them to friends or family. They are rip off merchants, with no customer service skills
Disregard anything they promise you before you turn up, no matter how many times you explain what you need.
I was promised a ground floor cube shaped space which I needed for several valid reasons. I arrived with a car full of boxes to end up with a unit about 4ft x 25ft. If you want to get to a box at the far end, you'd need to empty 40% of the store to get to it and then put everything back!.
I advise anyone to look at the store being offered before signing the contract, and not to bring any items with you on day one.
The fees you pay if you miss one payment, are absolutely ridiculous! If your direct debit bounces you get charged £17.50 and if you don't pay that within 8 days you pay another £15. They give you absolutely no time to make up for the missed payments and on top of that their monthly rates constantly increase. Over two years their fees have gone up by £13 a month.
Having said that, the storage itself is great. Very secure, easy to access, 24/7 access to your belongings & the customer service is not bad.
