I contacted SMG for a repair to items of outdoor clothing. The reply and indicative estimate came back very quickly along with clear instructions how to proceed and an indicative turn round time. SMG contacted me on receipt of the items with a definite cost for the repair. I was kept informed all the time about the progress as well as when the items were dispatched for return. Absolutely amazed at the quality of the workmanship. All in all a very satisfying experience.

Musto puffer jacket repair of both zips completed and done perfectly, even though the coat was over 5 years, the bill went to Musto. Amazing

Found SMG via Musto website. I sent a windstopper mid layer jacket for zip replacement as this type of jacket no longer available to buy and favourite MPX salopettes for patching. Excellent communication all along, speedy repair and returned items as good as new. Highly recommended!

Fantastic service. The end result was awesome and they brought my 20 year old Rab down jacket right back to life. Absolute bargain seeing as it'd cost me the best part of £400 to replace that jacket nowadays. Great care was taken in returning the detachable hood and stuff bag that I sent with the jacket and the return postage was speedy once the job was done. Very highly recommended.

Fantastic Repair on my treasured Arc'teryx Alpha LT jacket.....14 years old and in great condition before it de-laminated totally on the hem and hook....

Sent it to Arc'teryx who after 8 weeks said it couldn't be repaired and sent it back.....

Thankfully I found Scottish Mountain Repairs who did such a tidy job on sorting it out for me...at a great price

I contacted Scottish Mountain Gear as I discovered online that they were the authorised repair company for Musto. I had a Musto BR1 coat which was still in great condition except the zip had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced
I sent an enquiry form with some pictures, Rona got in touch and explained that the zip could probably be replaced and paid for by Musto. I sent the jacket to SMG with an instruction to get in touch before commencing the work which they did. The zip was replaced and the coat returned as promised. This took less than 2 weeks from date of initial contact to the coat being sent back with DPD.
The commuincation was excellent and the coat is like new. I'd really pleased with the outcome. Thank you

They made a fabulous repair to my NEMO tent. I ripped the flysheet during a recent windy night on the West Coast. They perfectly matched the colour with a machine sewn and resealed patch. Quick turn around and fair price too. Great work and excellent service, thank you.

You have got to be joking. The jacket was £160 new.

Mountain Equipment unhelpfully pointed us to this firm because they apparently ‘don’t run a paid repair service.’

The jacket’s zip absolutely wasn’t an expensive zip - in fact, having seen what a really good zip looks like (rubberised, massive teeth, excellent ‘feel’), I’d say the one on this jacket was at the cheaper end of the market.

So much for environmental concerns. Most customers in this situation would bin the garment and buy another, preferably from another manufacturer.

First class service. They fixed a repair to my daughters jacket and it is like new!! Very happy daughter and very happy mum !! Would highly recommend their service !!

Miraculous repair to North Face Puffer
My son had torn his jacket on a thorn, feathers bursting out, right on the front panel. would have been very obvious if we had tried to patch it. We sent it to Scottish Mountain Gear & it has been returned like a new jacket. We’ve had a torch & magnifier out & no evidence there was ever anything wrong with it, don’t know how they did it! Would very highly recommend

At the start of Lockdown I bought 2no.Schoffel Gillets from Goldings in Newmarket at £140.00 each. Little or no use but the Faux Leather all around trim had the consistency of tissue paper and fell off in bits continually and the expensive vests both looked rubbish. Out of Schoffel 12month guarantee and eventually got both completely retrimmed by Scottish Mountain Gear - a superb job on both trimmed in leather and much better than new - highly recommended.

An area of the pertex on the arm of my North Face Diez jacket melted when it came too close to the unprotected bar of an ancient electric heater. I thought my beloved jacket was probably ruined, but contacted Scottish Mountain Gear as I knew they did warranty repairs for many outdoor gear manufacturers. They gave me a quote based on photos and 2 weeks later my jacket came back. They did an excellent job, replacing 4 baffles across the arm and matching the colour of >10 year old pertex perfectly. The repair is so good that its almost impossible to tell that it is there - you really have to know where to look. I'm incredibly impressed with their work and very grateful.

Sent cagoule in for zip replacement. They inspected and there was a problem with the material delaminating so couldn't do the original plan, but they suggested replacing the zip pull. Whole service was professional and efficient and pretty quick - thank you team-SMG.

Recommended by Schoffel, Scottish Mountain Gear replaced the broken main zips on my two elderly Schoffel fleeces. Both have been brilliantly repaired by Scottish Mountain Gear - the service was quick and very efficient, and done in a lovely personal manner. All at a very reasonable cost. I am a very satisfied customer.

I broke the zip on outer of my tent. They replaced the zip and its now as good as new. Quality of the work was excellent. Got it back in around a week.

The did an amazing job on my gortex jacket. I had had fallen of a bike and had multiple rips including a really bad one at the shoulder I had thought they would send it back and say it is beyond repair instead it was really difficult to tell it was in anyway damaged before. I am really satisfied with the patch work with excellent seam work and sealing. Would have my business again if I ever need it

Down sleeping bag in for a wash and treatment. Outstanding! Came back looking and feeling like new. Good, prompt customer service and quick turn around. Perfect! Why can’t more businesses be like this???
