I think the true sign of an excellent online store is when they resolve issues quickly while staying friendly. This store absolutely managed that for me. Just under 6 months ago I bought a Merkur razor from shaving.ie (more on Merkur later in review). About a week ago the head snapped off during regular usage. Thanks to EU law, if an item breaks within 6 month the seller is required to repair, replace or reimburse. I contacted shaving.ie with a photo of the broken razor. They got back to me in less than 24 hours, saying no problem and they would ship me a replacement razor head. Less than a week later the replacement has arrived and the problem is completely resolved. No fuss, no muss.

Anyone thinking of buying a Merkur, I'd advise against. This was my second razor from Merkur and the exact same thing happened with the previous one. Some online research has since uncovered that this is a pretty common issue. Merkur appear to have a design flaw in how the head piece is attached to the screw. When I buy a replacement I won't be buying a Merkur but, whatever brand it is, I will be buying from Shaving.ie
