Lovely weekend trip to Paris. Took a long time to get to the ferry because of all the pick up stops and comfort breaks, not so many on the return trip. Make sure your luggage is waterproof, ours was left out in a downpour of rain for about an hour and when we opened them in the hotel all our clothes were wet!

Holiday failed to deliver itinerary as advertised. Only one driver. Bar/grill was closed at Novotel throughout our stay. Did not get the ‘Paris by Night’ tour as advertised for the Saturday night. We were driven from our hotel to the restaurant and then back to our hotel after the meal. No night tour - which we had all paid for as per the itinerary, which clearly stated ‘Paris by Night’ tour, including 3 course meal with wine. The driver had to use a map on his mobile phone to locate the restaurant - so he clearly did not know where it was. No night tour and definitely no commentary. In fact it was still light when we were returned to our hotel. Very disappointing and not what we would expect from Shearings.

Pickpoints on the outskirts of towns closer to the travel route could save 2 hours on the journey to Dover .

My group was at our pickup point 3, since after 06:00 for a 08:30 leaving time. We deliberately went early to avoid rush hour traffic and almost got left because the taxi driver passed us back and forth twice and went around to other groups asking for us. I watched him pass us twice, then I went to him and asked ' Who are you looking for?'. He said my name and I asked him why he passed us twice and never asked us. Were we invisible? Shearings needs to let all taxis know that anyone is a possible passenger and they should not discriminate. That was a very bad start to our holiday. The tour was very good but the hotel has steps to the front entrance and no porters were available. Both drivers were very helpful and patient. Needed at least a ramp to the entrance. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms either.

Very well organised from start to finish. Great drivers, good friendly hotel. My first holiday alone and being apprehensive wasn't sure what to expect, I absolutely had a great time.

The drivers Mick and Jason went above and beyond to make this holiday good for everyone, I would definitely go on another holiday with Shearings thank you.

PARIS WEEKEND. Would avoid booking this trip with Shearings at all cost. The entire trip was with a small unheard of Company and nothing to do with the usually excellent Shearings at all. However the trip itself was good value for money but the optional add ons, especially the "Paris by night" excursion were expensive and not value for money, the aforementioned Paris by Night, consisted of a terrible evening meal in a very run down eaterie and no views of Paris by night at all as it was all done in daylight!! There was not enough time to explore Paris on the first day as we were picked back up up at 3.15! The optional extra trip to Versailles garden was very good but if you didn't do it you had to return to Paris the next day under your own steam and considering we were staying over 1 hour away (by Coach) was not an option fit for everyone. The Hotel was very good with an excellent Breakfast and the pretty town of Reuil was lovely. With regards to the journey, there was far too much messing about changing taxis and coaches 3 times, and overly long stays at the changeover stop. Having travelled abroad with Shearings several times, I was very dissapointed by this trip and will think twice before booking with them again.

A good holiday but poor hotel. Good information from the coach drivers so pleased with that. I felt that a 4 day break was too short after this experience. Next time all being well will go for a longer stay.

The hotel was nice but out of the way. Although no restaurant or bar open over the weekend. The coach driver and assistant were excellent.

Travelling far to long. Should have used the euro tunnel. The hotel had no food available. No air conditioning. Your twin room was a double and soft bed. The paris by night was at 5.00pm. With no vegetarian option for the meal that was included. The bar in the hotel didn't open over the weekend nearby restaurants and bars were closed too. Being on the outskirts of paris. Had to pay 45 euros by taxi to get into the centre. Wouldn't recommend this trip.

Great coach drivers, long journey but very easy and straight forward. Great to catch up on your rest! Rueil Malmasion was an extra bonus and Paris was fabulous. Hotel was nice, breakfast lovely.

Journey took 16 hours. Hotel had no food service available. The nearby restaurant were closed, except a pizza one. That didn't seem to understand vegetarian. Breakfast was good. But the staff were unhelpful. The hotel was clean.

The hotel was very close to chateau de Malmaison (Josephine's)and chateau de Bois Preau (Napoleon's). Excellent for learning more about the Republic.

Great weekend break in Paris as a group of four ladies. Only downsides were lack of local knowledge by our drivers who ended up taking several wrong turns and didn't seem to have any useful info on where we were staying or visiting, this was frustrating. Also, on the transfer back we stopped at a dodgy bus station to use facilities - only one toilet open for a coach load and while queuing, we were verbally abused by the 'residents' of said bus station who obviously weren't happy about us being there. Better planning needed with regard to rest breaks!!

Lots of remarks. Drivers getting lost every day, not knowing Paris. Meal and evening in Paris a disaster in epic proportions, firstly meal not worth money and when leaving at 8.30 for rest of trip to include Paris by night, to be told very rudely by Kelvin who said he makes the rules, telling us we are returning to the hotel, we the got lost and returned to hotel 2 hours later, for a 30 minute journey , I appreciate it was still light, but could have made other arrangements, we paid £56 each for the meal, and was a very expensive and an awful night all round.. Plus the bar was not open at all at the hotel during the weekend, which was frankly a joke Journey home was terrible, being told we were not having any comfort breaks, so 4 hours without a break, the toilet on board the coach, was not acceptable the sink cover would not close, making it difficult to use. I have a prostrate problem and those 4 hours were agonising. We even got lost at Calais going to tunnel entrance, which was now getting more and more a joke, We felt Kelvin tried hard during the weekend, but was let down by events during our stay. We feel we should get some sort of compensation for the meal on the Paris by night by night fiasco. These comments by Anthony Ellingham Mrs Cumby’s partner. I don’t think we will be going with you or recommending you anytime soon.

To expect passengers to travel on the coach without a working toilet is discouraging
