This was my first coach holiday with…

This was my first coach holiday with Shearings. The experience was excellent from the moment I stepped onto the feeder coach to being dropped off at the starting point at the end.
Pat, the driver was both knowledgable and friendly, providing history surrounding the places visited.
The hotel was in a fantastic location and the service was above and beyond, which made me feel I was home whilst away from home.

Dorset break

We had a lovely break in Dorset recently with this company. We were based in Weymouth but had plenty of coach excursions throughout the week. Our driver/rep Adrian was fantastic! He was really entertaining and answered any questions we had as well as telling us interesting facts about certain places we were passing whilst in the coach.
The Prince Regent hotel we stayed in was comfortable and clean but our sea view room was rather noisy, especially at night and also quite breezy as the windows were very old. The bathroom needed hooks for hanging items and there was no toilet roll holder or lock on the door which would have been nice.
The food choice was pretty good and tasty so the overall dining experience was satisfactory. Crystal our waitress was excellent - she was really busy but still polite and friendly. A real asset to the hotel.
On the other hand the lad who served in the bar with long hair had the customer service skills of a slug and could use some training in smiling and saying thankyou!
Overall we enjoyed our week away and would definitely use this company again. Thank you Shearings.

The pick-up was good The journey was OK…

The pick-up was good The journey was OK arrived at the hotel but we had to get our bags on a road to hotel, bedroom was good, morning breakfast was very poor with lack of food and attention to help us, our bus drivers were great.

Agatha Christie tour

So to begin Tour driver was brilliant and very helpful and funny explained about the breaks and advised what time we would be at the hotel
Hotel yes needs an upgrade but clean
My room on the top floor was far too hot and the small fan given didn't really help, shower had no pressure so not able to have a great shower
Food unfortunately was not very good in the evening that I stayed in for but breakfast was very good
The tour around Torquay was very informative and I learned some interesting things
Would do another tour but needs longer

Well worth a visit

Hard working, helpful staff at hotel. Very friendly particularly Maddy on reception. Our luggage was stored for us on arrival and departure as we were travelling on the sleeper train so arrived early and left late.
All areas of the hotel were exceptional clean.
The food service was very good with a varied selection both at breakfast and dinner.

Everything so far has been ok.

Everything so far has been ok but not much has happened yet has it? Other things might concern me a little with coach travel like for instance leg room on the coach as l’m quite tall and comfort stops. But many thanks for this opportunity to voice.

Mixed impressions

Mixed impressions this being my first shearing trip i brought into the hype of facility on the bus and so on yet they wasn't any tea or coffee facility's water was a pound a bottle ,fair enough for a short trip but when it take nearly 12 hrs to get to destination its a bit of a joke however the drivers we had were great and couldn't be faulted,the tour itself would have been better with a guide as the trip to skye seamed puzzling as we didn't see any of the famous sights of skye and spent majority of time at portree a nice enough place but nothing magical, then when you weren't on a trip you seemed to be trapped in the hotel which had nothing to do, so you could walk around the pleasant victorian village or stay in your room, no entertainment no spa ,no vending machine a limited bar ,the restaurant would let you in only at your due time with the group the food was meager and served tepid at best, for the amount the holiday cost i found it a disappointment where i even apologised to my better half as for our anniversary i thought it would be a little more special than it turn out to be,i'm glad that i have been on the holiday but i don't think i will book via shearings again

Very friendly and helpful driver/guide…

Very friendly and helpful driver/guide (Pat) with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of the places visited.
Lovely hotel, great food , friendly staff and reasonable bar prices + entertainment on a couple of nights.
Weather was fantastic and the group we were with really got on well.
Lots of laughs along the way.
Thoroughly enjoyable overall and would definitely recommend to friends and family. Top marks all round.
Very good price too. Thank-you.

Misleading

Booking was fine but actual holiday was very disappointing. Advertised Isle of Mull but it was day trip that never happened.
Miss sold and misleading
Hiedie was very good and kept us informed.
Food was good hotel staff was good.
Disappointed as stayed at Oban it should be advertised as holiday to highlands and day trip to Isle of Mull.

No second chance to make a first impression

Housekeeping substandard.
Quality of room/s below par.
Waitress service at dinner could be more efficient. Our dinner took 90 minutes.
Lack of information re problem solving, point of contact, and entertainment. Fire regulations. There was no sense of group attachment.

Hotel was fantastic

Hotel was fantastic, staff were great, food was amazing too.
The area was a mix of old and new and done 18k steps a day which was great.
Unfortunately I got a blood clot in my lung due to the journey on the way back (32.5hrs). We’ve done lots of coach trips over the years, never had an issue before.
