Absolutely terrible company - DO NOT USE. They are cheaper than the rest for a reason - we had over £350 worth of goods stolen (electronics, aftershave), over £1,000 worth of damage to our goods as the full packing service seems to mean throw things in boxes or on the back of the lorry with no care or protection, the removal men speak minimal English so communication is difficult, ran out of room on the back of the lorry so had to put things in my car (despite them coming out to quote beforehand) and to top it off had blood on the headboard of my bed from one of the removal mens hands - just feet from my head in bed. Avoid this company and get your moneys worth. Terrible.

When we were getting quotes for our move, (a medium sized job, which involved pick up at 3 locations in East London, 1 of which was just for a sofa bed, and a final delivery point in Surrey), Simply Removals came back with the cheapest quote.

After having used their services, I can see why. Moving day is always stressful and this company made it even worse. I had asked for a delivery start time of 10am. They turned up at 9.15 at the wrong initial collection point. Communication throughout the whole process was poor. However I do have to say the worked fast, but not carefully.

Communication was made difficult by a language barrier, and though the two men worked quickly, they were also careless and I ended up with a damaged cupboard and stand fan. While carrying a sofa bed from the property they lost a bag of screws and bolts, which luckily was found for us by the person living at the property.

There were two men for the job as we requested, the older of the two kept complaining about how heavy items were. He was also very unprofessional in asking one of my friends who was helping with the move if she would be going with them in the van followed by a suggestive smile.

I know that this could be seen as a joke, however it is still very unprofessional behaviour; we were paying for a moving service, not for people helping us to be made to feel uncomfortable.

Communication from the staff booking the job left far to be desired too. There was a rather abrupt staff member named Frankie who called to confirm the job, and there were times I had to chase to get confirmation of payment and job confirmation pdf.

Overall, an unpleasant experience which is a shame as the initial customer service when I was looking for quotes and booking the move with the company had been good.

Due to completion dates moving we lost the original movers we had and decided to use Simply Removals. At the time I did read the reviews and I aired my concerns to the Sales Person who then sent the below

We are a fully professional and reliable company, we are members of the NGRS and have moved David Cameron in and out of Downing Street.
Is it the Google and trustpilot page where you have seen the reviews? We have had problems with man and van company's using names similar to ours, as we have had a lot of publicity moving the ex Prime Minister. For example if you were to type in 'Simply Moving' into Google, our name will appear first - and so will our review page, as we have higher advertising.
Because of this we have been getting a lot of negative reviews from their customers thinking they have used us. A lot of the names on those pages we have no record of ever moving.

On this I went ahead but wished I had not !! One Luton van that was battered turned up to move a four bedroom house !! Two guys went about their jobs and I have to say they didn't stop. The second Luton van turned up 3 hours later and at this point I was not impressed !! They had no covers for our mattresses, they squeezed It all in so tightly we have now got damaged furniture and we could not get everything into the two vans. I had to call on friends to fill up cars and also leave a lot of items with our neighbours.

It was stress that was not needed, I expected a professional move for £1,168.00. We did all the packing and even had all the boxes packed up ready in a downstairs rooms to save on time. We found out that they pretty much sublet the jobs and they paid £150 to one of the guys to share with one other for 9 hours work which is a disgrace !!

Please please please do not use them ….. I am now in the process of trying to get some money back to pay for my 3 year old girls damaged bed !!

I had a 3 hour time slot for my removal and should have received a phone call one hour before to indicate arrival time. However, did not receive any calls. Called their operations team without any success. After another hour tried again, no luck again. Called their Southend office, and they said that their van had gone in for a service, and was late back! Would be another 40 minutes. Still no sign of the van, so called again, and was told that it would arrive in another hour. The van turned up at 6pm, with two guys, instead of the 3 on my contract. However, I have to say that the two guys worked their socks off in the rain, even though they had problems getting my sofas into my apartment. So, all in all a decent finish to a lousy day. Would I use Simply Removals again. The answer is NO!

Absolutely rubbish company full of false advertising and lies .They arrived over two hours late and gave me no notice that they would even be late. On the phone I was told there was nothing they could do about the delay and that they would still charge me the full amount per hour . This was highly incomvenient and I received no apology from the company . Do not use !!

Awful experience. The two men were almost an hour late, then they claimed they couldn’t remove the two larger chairs from the property - I tried to show them how to do it and they said it was impossible, I had to LIFT my sliding back door myself (I am 5’3, mid 30’s and 11 stone) in order for them to remove them. They took apart more items than they needed to, had me remove everything from inside my furniture, claimed I had more stuff than what I had quoted and placed the fridge, washing machine and dryer in my new flat - I had to move them where they belong myself. They were also extremely rude and one of them clogged my new toilet- with his excrement - I went to the toilet and I found his poop it still there and my toilet backed up.

We spoke with 3 different companies asking to have the full, packaging, removal and unpack. They were all very similar prices but decided to go with Simply Removals, mainly because they told us that they use minimal plastic on their packaging and secondly because of how quick they were to answer any email.
We offered to make full payment straight away but we were told we didn’t need to
We advised that we had an estimate date but of course we wouldn’t know for sure until closer to the date.
After that we had a series of calls and emails from different people that did not communicate with each other telling us that we would have our booking cancelled. The third time we were threatened with cancellation I called the office to express my frustration only to be told by Frankie to ‘calm down’ have him talk over me constantly and telling me that I am irate! I have never been spoken to like that and I would advise anyone to stay away from them if they expect good service

Easy to book, friendly on phone. Movers were brilliant - quick, safe and efficient. Can’t recommend enough.

Guy s from Simply Removals were great..3 guys as booked huge lorry, took great care with our furniture, inc wrapping glass cabinets. Arr earlier than booked but were happy to wait a while for us. would highly recommend them , and would def book again

On the positive note, we moved to our new location.
We trusted Simply Removals, solely on the wonderful salesman that charmed us into making a decision, even to the length of promising us he would turn up on the removal day to make sure we were happy with the crew, and that everything would be smooth.

We fell for it, hook line and sinker, he gave us his word.
We first became suspicious after agreeing for them to do the move, but before we paid.
We looked at Google reviews, and they were bad.

Upset with this and concerned I called the sales representative who assured us several times that it was misleading reviews, the reviews weren't for big moves, small man and van moves etc.
He then said if we had any doubts, he would come and be present on the day.

Our second upset was when the Sales Team took a payment from our account without signed authorisation, we had a call early in the day to say that we would need to leave our CC details as security, and leave a 10% deposit.

We were asked to sign an on-line consent form, however I didn't do this as I wanted to run this by my wife first.
However in the evening she got a call from the bank that Simply Removals had tried to take a payment, this froze our credit card as it was unauthorised.

I was very upset with this, again as it was taken without our consent or signed authorisation.

However again our Sales rep, reassured us it was a mistake and apologised.

OK.
We were quoted a price for a 3 man crew, plus 3 jobs to disassemble and reassemble a wardrobe and two beds.
Again, we were told on the day that the sales rep would turn up.
(Coincidently we were really happy to have the same crew that moved David Cameron from No 10 to his new address).
Can this one be fact checked?

1, On the day, the two men turned up, not three as contracted too and paid for.
This raised initial concerns.

2, The sales rep, didn't come along as promised, no phone message, text or anything. This was very, very disrespectful

3, *On this note I must say the two removal guys that did come along were pleasant*

4, We had two breakages, one antique clock of mine, this was broken in one of the rooms prior to it being wrapped, I was in the room when the removal guy knocked it over, he quickly picked it up and pretended it was OK.
I challenged him on the damage but he was vague in what we could do about it, and his liability.

5, One of our beds was destroyed with trying to dissemble it, screw head were ripped of at the tool to take the screws out were to powerful, I had to end up dismantle the bed myself, as it was being damaged to much.

6, This was the most stressful for us, the guys were in so much of a rush, they put us under so much pressure to finish for 12:30, we wanted to take more time but they made it clear they weren't happy with not leaving any earlier.
This was very unpleasant, they wanted in and out as soon as possible.

7, The next day, they arrived earlier than us, which is great, my Sister and Brother in Law were at the property for unloading.

This was done OK with minimal problems, other than they only assembled one bed, not the other one, or the wardrobe, so we have paid for something that wasn't done.

OK, sorry it's a long story, but the outcome is:

We will not use them again or recommend them.
We were miss represented and lied to with false promises.
We were put under time pressure, with a disabled son this was really upsetting.
We were put in a difficult situation with our bank having attempted to take money without authorisation.
Damage was done, but again looking at the reviews I just cannot be bothered putting in a claim as it will be a long ugly fight, so hopefully this review may give us the compensation we feel we should have.

Finally, it's such a shame because if the sales-man was true to his word.
If the removal guys didn't pressure us.
If the sale team didn't try to do an unauthorised payment
Then this would have been a whole different review.

Booked Simply Removals to help us move some large/awkward furniture from a town house into a second floor flat. Two men and a large van turned up within the allocated time slot, and managed to manoeuvre a triple wardrobe down 2 flights of narrow stairs out of the old house. Said wardrobe then caused further problems by not fitting up the communal stairwell to the flat, but the SR guys were determined and dismantled the whole wardrobe, carried it up 2 flights of stairs, then reassembled it in our bedroom (at no extra cost, despite this not being part of the quote). They also got a big leather sofa up to the flat too with no issues!
Fantastic service, reasonably and competitively priced, with determined and hard working guys, and all of my furniture and belongings (including a lot of fragile items) were intact and undamaged. Would highly recommend!

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS REMOVAL COMPANY!
We used them when we moved in December 2018 and it has taken til now to close my complaint and I was not satisfied with the compensation at all but was left with little choice other than to take them to a small claims court which I didn’t want to do.
In short they were 4 and half hours late to pack up our house which meant they were still packing after 8pm and I had a 4 week old baby and a toddler in the house - not acceptable.
They damaged my kitchen table, I got three quotes for a repair all of which were between £300 - £400 and they offered me less than £20 to repair it as they claim the table has depreciated like a car would and the damage is not structural only cosmetic!
To top it all off there complaints department is shocking, I had to chase and chase and chase, hence why it took so long to come to a conclusion!
I worked in customer service for 7 years and I’m all for praising good service and highlighting the bad! So once again please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

They don’t deserve even the poor star. Paid a full 3 bed house including big furniture, wardrobe and plenty others to find the smallest van on the day!!
They do this deliberately so to put you in this position when you have to pay for another journey. Rude and unhelpful customer service. Never use or recommend.,

A great moving experience from start to end. The packers arrived the day prior to the move and they were super quick and efficient. The day of the move went without any hitches and the movers got me out of my flat within 3 hours. Although there was a slight issue at the end with a charge being incorrectly raised for the key waiver, this was duly refunded and I have no complaints.

Great price and George and Cristian the removal guys could not have been more helpful. They where due to turn up at 9 and arrived at 9! Friendly staff in the office and very easy to book.

This was my first move and was worried as booked online and paid for a service without seeing any one but the move could not have gone better and they took lots of the stress away.

Well Done, keep up the wonderful work

I was very anxious about moving . I have to say Simply Removals were brilliant from start to finish . The office staff set my mind at ease . They told me not to worry.
Today on our moving day the the two removal men were early . They got every packed up carefully and considerately.
This was the same while bringing everything into our new home . I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them . Thank you so much

Excellent service. Friendly and efficient.They arrived promptly and didn't stop until I was in my new home. Nothing was damaged at all. In fact they even fixed the drawer under my bed which had been broken for a while. I can't recommend this company highly enough.

The service was outstanding. Out items have been collected, put in a storage place and after the team dropped them off to our new address. Punctual service. Hussien was very nice am d always willing to help. Absolutely recommended!

The booking process was easy, the people I spoke to on the phone were polite and accommodating... and then the actual removal happened, all seemed fine until they stopped a piece of my furniture puncturing the base, saying nothing and waiting for me to find it on unpacking - they offered me £1 compensation. I’m still fitting it, it remains unresolved. They also damaged paintwork in the new property - careless and neglegant removal men.
DO NOT USE.

Thanks to Liam who was very professional in the office. The 2 lads I think called James and Valentin who were very helpful on the day! Would definitely recommend.
