Outstanding service yet again as a returning customer to Sinclair Garages Swansea, Gorseinion Road. Sales Executive Terri Key could not have done enough in transition form my old Seat Ibiza FR Sport to a brand new model/car. Three days in and no regrets in the car or using the dealership yet again. Thank you very much. Keep the fantastic work.

Great experience at the dealership and amazing deal on a new Ateca. Slight delay in delivery which could have been communicated better but once the car arrived great handover experience. Would recommend this company.

Very helpful sales people and the handover lady was brilliant. Unfortunately some of the defects we asked to be rectified were not carried out, leaving us waiting while the work was hurriedly carried out.shame as it spoilt the pleasure of collecting my daughters new car.

Took my car Arona in for diagnostic test as several warning slights intermittently on dashboard. They couldn’t diagnose any fault but I was charged over £300.
Problem persisted and an independent mechanic identified it as ABS sensor immediately, and replaced which has solved all the issues.
I fail to understand why a SEAT dealer could not think this through and offer to replace the sensor. They were unwilling to do anything unless the warnings were on when I went in to them - even though i took a photo to show them.
Emails to customer service were irritating as they failed to understand my issues with the experience.
I wouldn’t go back to them….. be careful if you use a manufacturer’s dealership.

I found Sinclair Group on Autotrader while looking for my next car, which was listed at their SEAT Swansea branch. I contacted them to check availability before making the two-and-a-half-hour trip, and Jacob got back to me almost instantly. He suggested placing a refundable deposit to hold the car, which I did.
When I visited, Jacob was friendly, not pushy, and had me on a test drive within minutes. He explained everything clearly and told me there was no rush to decide. He also gave me a part-exchange value for my old car, which I agreed to. At the same time, I did mention that if I managed to sell my car privately, I would go down that route instead, but if not, I would part exchange it. A few days later I confirmed I wanted the new car and, as my old one hadn’t sold, I told Jacob I would part exchange.
Not long after that, I did manage to sell my car privately. That’s when I discovered Sinclair had placed a stock marker on it in the HPI records. A stock marker is something dealers add when a car is due to come into them, but in this case the car was still mine, they didn’t own it. To put a marker on a car that wasn’t their property, and to do it without telling me, really surprised me. The problem is that if anyone runs an HPI check on the car, it shows as being marked by the garage. To a potential buyer, that can look like the car has outstanding finance or that it still belongs to the dealer, which can easily put them off or stop the sale completely. In my case, the company buying my car wouldn’t collect it until the marker was removed. While I now understand why the marker was added, it hadn’t been explained to me at all, and it caused unnecessary stress and delays at a crucial time. Jacob did arrange for the marker to be removed as soon as I raised it, but I was told it could take up to three days to clear, which unfortunately clashed with my planned collection date for the new car.
Around this time, Jacob moved to another branch and Tom took over the sale. I didn’t meet Tom in person, but most of our communication was done over email. He was polite and helpful when he did reply, but getting hold of someone could sometimes be a little challenging. What added to the stress was sending large amounts of money by bank transfer, then not receiving any acknowledgement for 24 hours or more which I had to ask for. For all I knew, I could have been sending money to anyone, and I just wanted that peace of mind that the payment had been received. An automatic receipt system or even a quick confirmation email would make a huge difference.
By collection day, all the funds had cleared, and we travelled to Swansea again. The branch was very busy, and we were asked to wait while Tom dealt with two separate customers, which was a little disappointing after a two-and-a-half-hour drive. Perhaps when staffing is short, an appointment system should be introduced so that collection customers aren’t left sitting for 35 minutes while other potential sales are prioritised. Eventually, we were handled by another member of staff, who was friendly, but a mistake with the wrong logbook nearly meant the wrong car being transferred to me. Luckily, I spotted it before anything was finalised.
What did let me down most was the state of the car on handover. Despite being told it had been valeted, the inside simply wasn’t clean. The outside of the car looked fine apart from the alloys, which still had dirt on them. Inside, there were mud splashes on the inside of the driver’s door frame, bits of fluff on the back seat, some stones in the footwell from shoes, and dust on the dashboard. A job at the local hand car wash would honestly have been better. For a car I’d just paid a large sum of money for, the whole build-up, me working hard to save and pay for it, and the garage working to make the sale, deserved a better finish.
The final presentation was disappointing, and with no staff member even accompanying me outside as the keys were simply handed over, it left me feeling like they didn’t really care once the money was paid.
In the end, I am happy with the car itself, but the whole process could have been much smoother. What really let me down was the lack of customer care at the very end. The staff I dealt with were good, especially given how short-staffed the branch seemed, but more attention needs to be given to the final product detail.
If a handover staff member had taken the time to come outside with me and checked over the car with me, they would have seen the mess inside straight away and perhaps thought it just needed a quick wipe down and a hoover. Instead, it looks like I will be doing that myself.
I did try to mention my experience to a member of staff, but the response I received was that it was because they are not allowed holidays in September and everyone was off, which didn’t really help from a customer point of view.
