Paid a lot for this watch. After a few uses the screen went dark and is now unusable. Cannot get the courage to throw out this expensive watch. Brought one when it first came out.

This is the worst thing ive ever bought…

This is the worst thing ive ever bought and to think i chose this watch as an option over a Garmin or Apple watch . I might as well have thrown £169 in the bin . The battery doesnt charge properly , you cant read the watches display in sunlight and when your swimming it suddenly stops monitoring the current swim and starts again . I cant believe this watch hasnt been stopped from selling . I tried to use it again yesterday and after 45 minutes the battery failed and it kept resetting whilst i was swimming . I will be throwing this watch away as from what ive now read from other reviews i have no chance of a refund .

I used my Swimmo watch for rhe first…

I used my Swimmo watch for rhe first time today. There are a couple of minor issues. But all in all, I an satified with my purchase. It does seem difficult to get out of the training mode, i.e. flick wrist and workout comes up, flick again to change, workout begins and stuck in loop for a few rounds. As far as support, i have been very happy with the response I have received.

No communication

When I received the watch, I decided it was not ideal for my purposes.
So contacted swimmo to arrange returning arrangements.
I had to return the watch to Poland, costly with insurance.
After 3 weeks since I returned the watch I have not received any information that they have the watch back.
Not one reply to the many emails I have sent, I for one would not recommend any one to deal with this company.
Can not pass comment on the watch because I did not use it.

Great Swim Watch

I've used the watch for about a month now. Swam about 12000 yards in the last month in a 25Y pool. The watch missed a couple of 25 yd lengths in that time which is great accuracy! The Kick/Drill mode seems to work well. The watch can track heart rate in the water which is important for me. I am looking forward to the coming update to get SWOLF and stroke counts. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is I have some trouble syncing the watch to my iphone. I would recommend this watch for tracking swim workouts.

If I could give zero I would

If I could give zero I would. Doesn't read lengths properly. Been told it was because of my glide. Changed my technique and it still doesn't work. I have been waiting 6 weeks for them to look into the issue. Would definitely not recommend, even if it was free.

After nearly a year, I finally received a refund for the faulty watch so at least I am not out of pocket.

Paid the price during fund raising…

Paid the price during fund raising stage, then waited very long and almost forgot about it since there was no update from the manufacture and numerous delays. Accidentally found out that they were selling it already and had to chase them to get my item, although i was supposed to be among the first owners (i updated my contact details several times over development period). finally got it just to find out that it was unusable in water - tried 3 times and always screen went black after 2 or 3 laps. Not using it since.

After 3 weeks of use

After 3 weeks of use, I concluded that I would indeed have choose any other watch over this.
From time to time, mainly after recharge, watch don't react to pushes on the screen.
Other times, it's so super sensitive, that it starts a training in the bag.
It constantly forgets my settings, so when I wanna sync with the phone, nothing happens, until I go into settings, and redo them.

Basically, I can't trust the watch to really work, and that's simply just not okay.

The poor visible display I can live with.
jumping in the menu with a twist, works great as well.

Hello Jasper

Thank you for your opinion. We are sorry that you are not fully satisfied with your Swimmo watch.

We recommend carrying the watch in a protective pouch or a small box that will prevent it from bumping into other objects in your bag, which could be interpreted as tapping. This being said, we are also working on an improvement that will address this.

As far as syncing is concerned, the watch itself does not have any settings that can change so this might be an issue with your phone.

Not suited to outdoor swimming

I bought this watch 18 months ago as it promised an open water feature was going to be released shortly - Swimmo have assured me that this feature is in development but no date available yet. As an outdoor watch it is poor as the screen can't be read in sunlight.

The first time my charger broke after around 5 months it was replaced without question, with very good service. The new charger has not lasted a year and has now stopped working, and Swimmo have agreed to replace it again.

Hard to see the screen in bright weather - Returns to be sent to Poland at high shipping cost

- It's tough to see the screen when you swim outside in bright weather.
- The watch feels cheap.
- Terrible return policy. (or what they call "changed your mind" policy. I wanted to return it but found out that I had to ship it to Poland (Europe). They don't give you the option to ship it back to one of their warehouses in the US! They request to mail it by registered mail to Poland which would cost approximately $ 60. Their disclaimer also says that they have the right to restocking fee or a deduction if they see wear and tear on the watch. So I decided to put it on eBay which I see other people have done before as well.. probably for the same reason.
On a good note, they are relatively responsive by email.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

We would like to clarify that the fulfillment facilities used for faster shipping worldwide are third-party companies, rather than our own warehouses - this is why they cannot process returns on our behalf.

The return shipping cost depends, of course, on your location and is beyond our control.

The practice of restocking/refurbishing fees is reasonable and commonly applied, with Amazon being a notable example.

My Swimmo Watch

Swimmo watch is the best piece of swimming kit I have ever had. I have tried other branded swim watches but they either don't work very well or aren't accurate. Easy set up for any size of pool. I regularly swim 1800m and with the swimmo as my partner I never loose count of my laps due the the quarterly vibration through the wrist. I have the app set up on various devices so I can easily upload my workouts and review them looking at were I have changed my routine easily. Ok as with all tech items I do have a few clitches but the team at swimmo always reply via email quickly and always with the exact help needed. Great team, great kit, great job!😁

A great swimming watch, and good customer service

So far, I have no complaints about my Swimmo watch, even though I have a defective charger, which is being replaced. My emails to Swimmo describing my problem have been promptly answered and that shows that they are focused on "customer service" and satisfaction, and not just selling swim watches. I wish them success!

Room for improvement, but its still a great watch

I have been using my Swimmo for several months now and I must say I am not disappointed. As other reviews point out, yes, there are still a few issues to fix : my watch sometimes doesn't count all strokes, or sometimes it counts an extra stroke, especially in Kick&Drill mode, which doesn't catch all strokes when I swim at high speed with fins ; the fact that the hour can't be displayed while working out with the watch is a loss in my opinion.
The stroke count and rest times are features that should have already been included; I cannot wait until they are available.
That being said, I am very satisfied with my swimmo; customer service is on point, always available, the app's statistics are very usefull and I like that it is slightly more affordable than a Garmin.
Thanks Swimmo Team!

Low tech at hi price

Purchased over a year ago, got the watch in good conditions (no Manufacturers defects). Have to say, after using it for a year now, its not worth the price, for the same price i could have bought a better and more sophisticated Garmin watch. laps are not all counted, need to tap really hard to stop and resume swimming (fact that i need to tap to take a break means that the watch is not that "Smart"), on a clear day the display is so weak that I need to stop swimming and cover the watch to see the numbers, doesn't show time when swim count is active. its a pool watch only -no sea swim for you, Updates are Sporadic if any and to be honest i dont really see any update that will improve a what i can only describe as a failed attempt to compete with much much better brands with a low tech means.

Good straight out of the box but still lacks some key features

I have been using my swimmo watch most weeks since it arrived about 18 months ago, swimming indoor pool laps on three strokes (my butterfly is hopeless), and covering about a mile per session. My technique is fairly good and the watch rarely misses laps - often catching up later in the session. This is quite clever, but I wish that it didn't include the 'catch up laps' in the statistics for average lap speed etc.

Battery life is reasonable and the tap screen control is very good provided that I remember to resume the session after pausing to grab a drink. I'm hoping that with the promised firmware upgrades (stroke analysis really should have been there from the start) the watch may become smart enough to automatically suspend/resume measurements when it detects that I've stopped swimming.

I am very happy that I bought this watch, and hope that the new features come along soon.

Expensive lesson

My swimmo watch came with a defective battery charger. It took almost a week to get a response from the company where they admitted they knew the chargers were sometimes defective. After several more emails that also took a long time to respond to me, they agreed to send me a new battery charger. So, about a month after purchasing the watch, I was able to charge it and try it out. It did not accurately count my laps and when I tried to sync it with my phone it lost the swim totally saying there was no history. I was frustrated by this time and asked for a refund. I was informed that there is a 2 week return policy. I did not even get to use it for a month so I guess, this is an expensive lesson for me. I should have returned it immediately. I purchased a different brand and it has worked flawlessly for me.

Hello Judith. Thank you for your feedback. To clarify - the issue concerned a small fraction of units of an old batch of chargers and has been already resolved in the new batches. The "lost workout" is simply a matter of ensuring sufficient phone memory while synchronizing, as we have tried to explain.

Heart rate

The heart rate did'nt work so the watch was broken.
So sending back in good condion.
Swimmo took € 50,- reduction for a scratch who was'nt there.
So I paid € 50,- for a broken watch that I don'nt have.

The watch has been sent back as a change of mind return rather than a warranty repair. Partial refunds due to the item not being in the original condition are a common and reasonable practice. Scratches and other signs of damage are always documented and available to be reviewed by the customer if he/she wishes to see them.
