One Happy Midlands Customer

I've returned to radio controlled cars after nearly forty years away (my Dad built me an Audi Quottro when I was ten!)

So, I had to get an Audi Q and built it myself, all these years later.

The prices at Time Tunnel Models are excellent, some of the best I've seen on the internet.

As I'm based in the Midlands, and Time Tunnel are based up north, I was really impressed that the free delivery arrived in less than a day! Brilliant.

I've ordered extra parts and, as a noob, Time Tunnel have answered my questions really quickly and reassured me in correspondence that I've ordered the right bits of kit.

I was so chuffed with the prices and service that I went ahead and bought a Rising Fighter bundle at a really fantastic price. Again, I couldn't find it cheaper.

Lastly, I've ordered a bunch of extras for an Mf01X Beetle Rally and, again, they answered my questions and, when one bit of kit had a fault, they sent a Freepost label straight away and offered to exchange it no quibbling.

Can you tell I'm a happy customer? Great prices, some of the lowest I've seen. A huge array of options when you buy - you can add as much as a whole electronics bundle or you can pick and choose. And their customer service tell me they're lovely people to do business with.

Five stars. Give em a go.

I ordered a rc car from this company…

I ordered a rc car from this company who knowingly sent me a cosmetically damaged car, emailed them about it they just passed the blame on, no apologies or offer to replace the damaged car/ chassis, and the person who responded to my emails has no customer service skills or manners what’s so ever. There were 3 clips missing that hold the body in place to. So I payed full price for a car that wasn’t secured down in the box properly from the manufacturers, this could have any sort of issues later on from being banged about in a box in transit from overseas let alone the scratches that were all over the chassis undercarriage. I decided to just take it on the chin and keep it as I’ve read a review regarding sending items back to this company and don’t want to go through all that hassle.

Yes I did state that I have some clips ands that not a issue, the issue was you sent me a cosmetically damaged car and didn’t apologise for the situation which is bad customer service. I’m not trying to tarnish your company I’m stating facts.

Fact 1-I was sent a damaged car which you knew about as you opened the box and checked it.

Fact 2- I brought this to your attention and you just blamed the manufacturer and didn’t offer a resolution or compensation even though it was supplied by your company.

A simple, I’m sorry would of gone a long way. I wouldn’t of bought it a full price if I knew it was damaged and missing some clips.

Regarding my reply you kindly posted to view, the part of it not being an issue was only regarding the missing clips. I certainly didn’t state that the damage was not an issue as I raised as a concern in the first place.

And like I said I left it there as I took it on the chin as a loss due to the review.

Second update to response. I now know you are totally full of it as I’ve just found the clips inside the corner on the plastic bag that I fault was empty. You are literally just trying to cover yourself with lies and that shows you true colours. Bottom line don’t send damaged goods to customers knowingly and when they catch you out own up to it.... due to all of this I’ll contact the correct departments regarding this not that you’ll care because your attitude is appalling.

Update to his update lol this is actually amusing now. I’m guilty of calling him a muppet, just saying it how it . I’m so sorry if I hurt your feelings, maybe you’d like to talk about this to someone 😂 you’ve lied and send damaged goods out. Period good luck with your awful company after this

Last update, please don’t be fooled by his editing my emails and and posting online. Also tried to threaten me with his solicitor for leaving a honest review on social media, there are genuinely some amazing rc shops out there but this is definitely not one. Imagine buying a product from a company under the understanding it’s brand new sealed and all parts there to find out they just sent you one of the damaged products they had in stock, then to be so brash and ignorant about it leaving the customer annoyed and frustrated, not one apology or any resolution just a jack the lad attitude regarding it all. He may sound polite in responding to me here but the emails are a completely different story.

Please please please avoid this company anything goes wrong they just don’t care.

UPDATE TO THIS: The clips in a bag that Mr Halifax refers to in his many edits must be spares, as they come from the factory fitted to the car and were left in error on our packing desk. At no point has Mr Halifax requested a return, however he has sent us a number of email today which contained personal insults and name calling, which is very grown up of him.

Our view of what happened:

1: Car arrived from HPI and was stored in store on a high shelf, where no one can get to it. It was lockdown anyway, so we had no walk in customers.
2: Mr Halifax made his purchase.
3: We find HPI Maverick cars are poorly secured to their inner boxing - a feature HPI is well aware of and tell me they are looking at changing in future production runs. We therefore open each car to tighten or replace the tie down straps and to check the battery is present in the car. This we did with this car and would account for it having minor scratches on the underside of the chassis - they commonly move about. Staff forgot to refit the body clips - they were found on the packing desk after Mr Halifax made contact.
4: Mr Halifax did not request a return, in fact he stated it was "fine".

Copies of our reply to Mr Halifax and his reply - a copy of the entire email chain has been lodged with Trustpilot for future reference:

The scratches on these are because they don't tie them into the box properly. We have to open every single one on arrival and fix it down. You can see it's unused by studying the tyres and looking for dust on the suspension arms.

He's forgotten to refit the body clips when checking the battery was there - we check them all before dispatch. Can you confirm - is it two clips that are missing?

super fast delivery, excellent support!
